I’ve had a Chevy and a GMC years back. Both excellent trucks. I never thought I’d drive a Ford, but I couldn’t pass this one up. If Erica had her way originally, I’d be driving a supercharged Daihatsu.

Got a lot more done today in the shop. Added some recessed lighting to my wall, and happy to say that the cinderblock wall is no longer visible. @ericastar76, on the other hand, has much to do to get her wall disguised. :POKESS:

I am little late but I have to say you have been busy. First question is do you cover the SS while inside? Then have you been talking to @dangerdarrell about watching paint dry, cause I saw the two chairs inside and a clothesline of blue parts, just wondering if that’s what y’all doing after the storm. Looks good and completely organized! Keep having fun , then when finished you say we need to move. Been there done that. All and all looks like you have a plan and keep doing what you like. Time is too short. JUST SAYIN

We usually move the sling outside. If not, we think about covering it, but usually forget. We have some ideas that should ease that. As far as watching paint dry, sitting is our preferred method.

For me it is just faster to go to the table saw or drill press without having to convert it over. I do miss the lathe, but it is on my list of things to get.

But it is really an amazing and compact do everything machine

I would have to agree. Having to change from drill press mode to table saw mode, because of a missed cut could be a hassle. We have a separate drill press and sander, so hopefully those will help prevent changing over in some cases.

I seem to remember the Shopsmith being sold about 15-20 years ago and they touted the multiple position table for doing vaious projects, if theirs is the same type, that's awesome. Thought about getting one years ago and then remembered my wood working talent level was -100%

This is the same Shopsmith that you remember, and have been wanting one for at least that long. Actually, these have been around since the early 1950’s. One great thing about the Shopsmith is that all parts are still made for every unit made since 1953. Also, every unit is made in the same factory in Dayton, Oh, and not somewhere offshore. I’m excited about this particular model, as it has a 120/240v 2hp variable speed motor, which allows anywhere between 250 to 10,000rpm’s. All in all, it is virtually the same Shopsmith as one made 65years ago. I used to build furniture in a shop that offered the benefit of having individual shop equipment, but that was years back. I hope to one day have access to that again, but until then, I should be able to do everything I was able to do before. Either way, I plan on always keeping this one.

Back in school, I decided to take a semester of Abnormal Psychology 101. Halfway through reading the textbook, I came to the conclusion that I suffer from a little bit of everything in that book. Even scarier was that I felt that everyone else did too. :P

Yeah, that's true OCD and I feel for ya. ADHD is no picnic, but OCD can make it seem almost trivial in comparison. Good thing you've got a very understanding spouse. At least I'm assuming she is since she was crazy enough to hitch her horse to your wagon or her wagon to your horse. Whatever; you get the idea.

I understand very well. I know when I need to console, and when I need to exit the room.

Almost done with wiring my side of the shop/garage. I have (5) 20 amp outlets on this wall, one of which is on it’s own circuit. The others split among 2 more circuits. I still need to finish wiring the 240 volt/20 amp in the center, but I should finish that up tomorrow. I’m running #10 awg for that. Erica is going to have me run a 240v/50amp circuit for her welder, which I’ll need to pick up some #6 awg wire for that. It’s safe to say that we got some power in here. Anymore circuits after that, and we’ll be putting in a sub panel. I’m just wondering how much we saved by doing this ourselves.

Now we just need to say goodbye to that plastic shelving.

Oh, I have no problem with ladders. I just know fuck-all about residential electricity.

I understand. I did a lot of research on electrical, as I’m a complete novice. There are so many different codes to follow, based on what and where you are wiring. Safety is the biggest thing. I wired a few things in the past, so I’m comfortable tackling it, but it isn’t second nature to me yet. There is a pride in completing it yourself.
