That should be a GREAT ride with incredible views .... I'm jealous. The Going to the Sun highway (GTTSH) road should be open by then. Dress appropriately for the temperature at ekevarion. Be prepared you can run into snow but it should be unlikely. You won't go fast on GTTSH as in section ot will be bumper to bumper traffic but take your time keep an eye on the other drivers not paying attention and your passenger I'll have the time of their lives. Expect the same for Beertooth although traffic might not be bad at all. Lots and lots of photos PLEASE. Glacier National Park is one of our favorite spots in the world

@Ross thanks for you input much appreciated. Definitely looking forward to the trip, I'm in the midst of doing the rout planning and want to make sure I can take the Sling and trailer on these two roads.

On our trip to Slingshot in the Rockies we plan on going on Beartooth Pass highway, Wyoming. On return leg we plan on going on Going to the Sun Road, Montana. Is any one familiar with these ? Is there any restrictions, I plan on taking the Sling and pulling a small motorcycle trailer. I know they are only open during summer months, so July I should be ok. I'm more worried about pulling the trailer and if I will be allowed access ? Any one with experience on these, info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I want to thank everyone for all the love that has been given to us this week. We have had a lot of different bikes over the years and been to different rallies and I can say that the "slingshot" family is by far the greatest.
I have had so many people thank RAB for the forum and shared how it was effected their lives. I have had people cry, laugh and give the upmost appreciation. This forum started out as something that he thought would be a great place for information and a few laughs, but he never dreamed it would grow the way it has. I usually try not to brag on RAB, because I do not want his head to swell any bigger, lol, but he puts his heart and soul into this forum and I cannot tell you the countless hours. This forum has became apart of my life because this is what he loves and does everyday.

I want to thank you all for the support and love you have given us both. Have safe travels home and until we meet up again!

@allison @rabtech, thank you both for the wealth of information and knowledge this forum has brought me since I bought my Sling. But more importantly the sense of family and caring. I don't do the face bookey thing but my wife does and she still keeps in touch from people we met last year at the Rockies event. Without this forum we never would have met two of the most down to earth genuine people, @SundreSlingQueen @Slingshot Garage. You two are great and we're looking forward to make sure and stop by on our way down to Rockies event.
I hope to be able to meet many more cool people at the Rockies event this year.
Thank you all, and if your ever around Alberta Canada area, you have a welcome place to stay and a cold drink waiting.

    Thanks, Rex & Jane

Does anyone travelling long distances carry a small Gerry can of gas with them ?
I know its not practical inside the Slingshot, but I will be pulling a trailer and can strap it to the top of the trailer.
Just wondering if the pro's will out way the cons of doing this ?

Do a search in the forum has been posted before.

I have attempted a search numerous things, travel, long distance, storage, packing etc. Have only found a few that deal mainly with the types of travel bags that people use or are available. Cant find anything that explains what I am asking for.
I will keep searching but if anyone has input and replies to this thread I would appreciate it,
    Thanks

Hey All, starting to get list of things needed for our trip to the Rockies event this year.
Wife and I are going to be on the road with the Sling for quite period of time doing some extra miles on some cool areas on way to and from the Colorado get together.
Trip will be about 4 days travel to Colorado, 4 days in Colorado, about 5 days on the return trip. Average travel day will range from 5 to 9 hours riding per day.
I've made several 3-4 hour runs but never a trip of this type length in the Sling.
So I am asking for input on this. What are the essentials you carry, what are nice to have, where do you store or put certain things ? As well are there any things I should or need to do both prior and during the trip to the Sling ?
I am in the midst of getting my Wyked hitch system in place and have purchased a light weight aluminum motorcycle trailer to tow behind us so we have a little bit of extra room.
Thanks in advance, appreciate your input and opinions

    Couple opinions for you.
My kids think it a absolute blast, my grandkids love it as well, especially when dropping off at school you definitely get more noticed than a bike, but as stated earlier you sit much lower than a car. I got the 2015 SLLE Edition and totally thinks is bitchin, I liked the options that came with it and especially the colour. I've also added numerous mods on top of the options. So your going to have to check them out and see which one turns your crank. :00000441: Highly recommend taking one for a test drive. :00008698:
Have fun keep us posted on your decisions :00008674:
PS if you decide to get one this is the BEST Forum for info and finding Slingshot friends and help
