this is too much to put on. I rather disassemble everything every night and put it on when Im ready to ride.

If you take the entire SS apart every night and scramble the pieces it will be like a 3D puzzle. This generation doesn’t have that much ambition to rebuild it.

If i have to do that, i might as well design the SS to fit in a case. That way, I can always carry it with me, put it in the ground, push it to deploy and watch it assemble in front of me.

Better yet, I need an autobot or a decepticon so my SS can protect itself while im gone!

When you take the wheels off every night and put it on blocks they will still sit in it and take pictures. ^^

i know it's a hassle, but if you think about it, no one will ever steal my wheels because its locked in my room along with the engine, steering wheel.

although, you make a good point, i should remove the seat and the floor panel.

    5. no seat and floor panel - cant seat on it

there you go :D thanks @War Hoop

He left the key in his slingshot.

that's really asking for someone to steal it then...

All the mods I will be doing should make car thieves think twice about stealing it.

    1. No steering wheel - they cant steer the car.
    2. No wheels - can't roll it
    3. no engine - can't start it
    4. electric fence around the body - cant touch it

    :D

Quick update: I came home today and I saw battery shows solid green!! Hooked up the battery real quick, put the panel back on, and IT STARTED RIGHT UP!

I checked the voltage of the battery before I hooked it up, and it was reading 12.9, but after starting it up and drove it around for a good half hour, I checked the neutrino box and it's pulling 13.6. I can't believe that worked, charging from 10.5V to 12.9 in about 48 hours..

    Now, I learned my lesson!

But then again, it's all worth it in the end. :D

@MrGrey My alarm cost about $139 plus some extras I bought. I added a relay to hook up interior lights and some lights outside that go on when the SS is turned off or the alarm is turned off. This would be the dome light on a car coming on when you unlock the doors. I tapped in to the parking lights so they flash. I also purchased the motion sensor which I ended up removing as the shock sensor is sensitive enough if someone gets in or bumps it. Its a 2 stage sensor so light touches just get a chirp and hard or multiple bumps get full siren and lights. Both will set off my pager. It also had a remote start that I didn't use. So between wire, relays and some extras it was about $200 with me doing the install.

    Oh and " I dudits!!"

that sounds like a pretty good alarm! care to send link for the model of the alarm and all the accessories you got?

It is called a capacitor, charge it up and watch it work when you short out the plus and the negative. Or use the 12 volt fence unit.

i might just try that out one weekend!

I agree! all my mods are for the exact same reason and most of the mods too are to eliminate people from stealing it.

i’ll have to look further for the hood latch, something that really works well with the slingshot and goes with the looks too.

Is it car battery size or motorcycle size? Our motor is twice the size of a Harley motor because they use them in cars....so why wouldn’t you want a car battery in your SS....if I bought an SS with the motorcycle size battery that’s the first mod I would make.... a car battery..

now that you mention it... the battery size seems to be in the medium size. A car battery being the largest, and a motorcycle battery would be the smallest.

I was surprised to see it in a weird size, I was expecting to see a full car battery in there when I took off the cover.

Anyway, I agree since the SS uses a 2.4 engine, shouldn’t they use a regular car battery on it, and should also add traction to the back.

However, lurking around here for the past few years or so, I noticed more people having problems with an upgraded battery (optima).

There doesn’t seem to be another vendor that offers a quality battery.

I had my dealer install the scorpion...$450...I think...without actually getting out of my recliner...LOL..

is this the “plug and play” they have in the website? i think i’m just gonna have them do the same thing too.

i’m a bit scared to do any electrical work on my SS now after the whole fiasco..

If the voltage drops too low (below 9.5 volts) you need a special proceedure involving hooking up another battery and charger to the optima and hours to revive it. They also require a special battery charger...and they don’t last any longer than any other battery.... too expensive for a pain in the ass...been there and done that ....once...never again.

that’s only for an optimal battery right? cuz this is the one I have. Hopefully, it has enough charge or shows full charge by tomorrow afternoon.

The voltage on mine didn’t drop that low, it was reading 10.5 to 10.6 last time I have it hooked up.

If your battery was just fine before you started this project you probably screwed something else up unless you ran the battery down testing it. I really hate electronics so I don't mess with it unless I have to.

My battery was completely fine. I forgot I had it on Acc mode for about a half an hour or so, and a few times turning it on and off.

If it’s an optima battery you’re screwed....make sure the terminals aren’t corroded ?You might have something hooked up to the neutrino that stays hot and draining power with the key off.

Check the neutrino settings to make sure you have everything set to go off with the key...

It's not the optima yellow battery. I still have the stock battery in place, all the terminals from the SS are clean since I have been messing around with it all weekend. When I get back from work tomorrow, I'll put the battery back and start it up again and check the voltage in the neutrino box.

If I may ask, why would it be screwed if it's an optima battery?

I installed a python car alarm system myself. I already have the guard dog so that takes care of the ignition kill but I wanted it for the shock sensor and motion sensor. It also pages me if its bumped or set off. Wasn't that hard to install. I ended up removing the motion sensor as the shock sensor is good enough if someone bumps it or tries to get in.

what model is that and how much is it for the whole kit?
