Can anyone tell me what is causing this type of tire wear on my front tires? Tires have about 11,000 miles on them. pressure always checked and run at about 28 PSI. Thanks

Needs an alignment, from the first picture looks like the tread is cupped on the right side also. Get yourself a laser alignment

The American buying public can control this by themselves without the politicians, but they would rather have cheap priced goods and the lost jobs

Pulled the slingshot out of winter hibernation today and found a problem. When I parked it the gas tank was full and showed full on the display. Now it's still full of gas but shows empty on the display with the light illuminated.

    Anyone else had this issue?

I do not know which battery you have but the place to start is pull the battery and clean the post and charge the battery. Oh, also take the negative cable loose from the frame and clean it and clean where is is hooked to the frame. This is the starting point to try and clear your problem.

I ride all through the winter......And my S/S after the salt used on the road for snow/ice removal is crushed to a fine white powder by cars driving over it looks like i sprayed the S/S with talcum power....And then i get the belt squealing.....If i spray the belt with Dawn mixed water the squealing stops ....A few times while driving the squealing came back....And then i purposely ran through a puddle so the back wheel would hit it.....And within a few feet the squealing stopped .....I'm convinced its dirt/fine dust that is the cause...

Watch out for the frame with the salt. Even without the salt it starts to rust.

Yea Right. Just use F-11 and the dust does not stick like with regular wax and just wipes off. I just did this.

1964 it was the Cruisar then in I think 1971/72 the CB 450. Then in 1975 I had the fifth Gold Wing sold in South Carolina when they came out. Then traded for the V-65 Honda as soon as they came in at the same dealer, now that was a Hot Rod, fastest thing on the street until the FJ-1100 came out. Then the dirt bikes came ( to many to name) and I supported up to 5 of them at a time. Then in 2013 I bought the Harley Softail Slim that I still have with 20,000 miles on it that were put on in the first year.

FunCycle I just 'right clicked' the picture than 'left clicked' copy than go to where you want to go and should be able to 'right click' and paste. that's how I copied and pasted the picture from post above.

I give up! At least I did get it in my photo folder, do not ask me how I did it.

Dry lube is our friend. I know dry lube with graghite works very well, but it's usually black and messy. I'm going to switch to teflon for my next spray.

I have never used any lube on the bike belts or the Slingshot but I have used the dry lubes on a lot of other stuff, like lock sets in you doors for one.

Well, FunCycle, like you, we too have been very fortunate ourselves not to suffer many of the common ailments associated with the SlingShot over the years, but it doesn't hurt to understand how to correct a problem if/when, one finally pops up, does it? :)

I have done my own maintance on my cars, motorcycles and even built a couple of Hot Rods it does not hurt to know how. Back in electronics school years ago an instructor told us that there was no way to remember everything. The important part was knowing where to look for the information that you needed to do the job and that my friends is the most important part.
