    If the axle is not rotating then you are not moving.

    Ok @FunCycle, maybe I am looking at or reading this wrong. I thought the wheel rotated on the axle and the axle would remain stationary. :?::?::?:

    OK, I stand corrected. Just went out and rolled mine and the nuts (actually the nut cover) rotate. Don't know what I was thinking. Guess the riding mower I was working on yesterday (and the heat) got to me. Had to pull the front wheels and grease the bearings on it. Axles stay stationary on it. Guess they are actually spindles though. :whistling:

    How far from Blue Ridge? We just closed on our cabin a couple of hours ago and will be here for a week

    Are you going to be at your cabin for the three week after Eureka? If not, just send me the key and address. I need a nice vacation. :D:D:D

    @rabtech, when I look at these pics on an iPad I can expand them fine I just do it on the main screen. If I click on the pic first I can expand it but it expands to the lower right. Left corner stays in place. Makes it difficult to view so I just expand them on the main screen.

    Hey @Ruptured Duck, I had a 62 Cherokee with column shift. Loved that vehicle. Had the 327 Bombardier engine. Had to argue with a kid at Autozone one day when he insisted Cherokees that year only had Chevy 350s. When I took him out and showed him the original labels on the engine he said someone must have changed it out. Went back in and asked for someone old enough to know something about engines.

    Well another hot one 109 feels like 113. I will tell you I am not going outside right now. Yesterday my truck said 121 inside. Thank you @dangerdarrell for the reply about ES do you think me and my wife might need jackets? You know 30 degree drop might be something to consider! We'll see you in ES.

    @Boomer, we have learned that the Sling is like our Jeep. Be prepared for any weather. ;)
    I always have at least a sweatshirt with me when we go to Eureka in the fall. Could come in handy sitting on the patio drinking margaritas at the Mexican restaurant near the hotel. :D

    When I was 25 I bought a 56 Chevy pickup with 3 on the tree. Always had to carry a hammer with me. About once or twice a week it would lock in gear when I came to a stop and I would have to hold myself off the ground by holding on to the running board, swing under, and whack the shift linkage to get it to release. 8o Frustrating at the time but now it's a fond memory of a pickup I wish I had again. :D

    OK, anyone out there who can answer. I have a 17 SLR now and my wife has a 15 SL. She does not want the Canadian lights but I do (had them on my 15). Started to pull off her headlight assemblies and just switch them for mine. Before I do this, does anyone know if the mounting bolts, etc., are different? Everything seems to be the same but I don't want to pull them off and find out there is some minor difference that makes it impossible. Found out about the differences in the role hoops at MV when Ruptured duck installed my top. He had to make a change in the bar across the back to make it work right on the 17.

    @Slingrazor and his lovely wife came up to our house last night and they were dying in the heat. We headed out early this morning with my wife and his driving there own Slings and it was over 80 when we left my house to meet Allen Burlison there and check out one of our Eureka runs. Was 100 when we stopped at Cliff House Inn for lunch. Their ac was struggling. Trent and his wife headed from there back to Little Rock, Allen headed NE to check out another road, and my wife and I headed N then back to the E to go back home. Stopped in Huntsville, AR to get some gas and for @HeRSling to try to recover from near heatstroke. It was 105 there. Had her drive my Sling the rest of the way home since I have @Ruptured Duck s Mean Sling top. Have to say, she found out the canvas top makes a big difference by just giving you some shade. I was doing fine in my SS and while driving her's I had constant sweat running down my face. Top will stay on ALL summer. Thanks @Ruptured Duck!!!

    Install went smooth and I like the results. Also changed out the roll hoop bumps to match
    They go on easier than they came off.

    Those look great @Red. My wife wants hers replaced with the same kind. Are they the pearl black like the ones on my orange SLR, how much total and which company finally got them for you? Also, did you replace the pieces under the hoops?

    I have not had it out yet, but I've looked at it. I'm sure all the drive train to the angle drive is standard, other than maybe a special short drive shaft. Looks to me like it will work just like a traditional rear wheel drive car.

    @dangerdarrell has worked on taking a clutch out, but I think they went in from the engine bay side. Perhaps he would know....

    @oneshot would definitely know....

    @Slingrazor and I changed some clutches but you have to pull the engine to do that. Transmission doesn't come out for that. Actually, you can't pull the trans without pulling the engine. As I understand it, there is a u-joint on one end and a cv joint on the other. Should be really easy to pull.
