Well another Canadian coming down. Just registered and booked a room at the Ramada. Tried a couple other motels and all booked up. Ramada has one more room available. We plan on leaving here Thursday morning. Google maps says 10-1/2 hrs with normal driving. We will see :BLACKSS: What a black SS will do it in. Hope to put some faces to some of the very helpful people on these forums. Now if we can just get thru these winter withdrawals ;(

$35.00 per hour wet (including fuel) when I started flying. Those days are gone.

I have all my classroom and 20 hrs seat time but decided it was too rich for my blood 2 yrs ago. The going rate here is 275hr instructor and plane. Every time I went up for 1-1/2 hrs which seemed like minutes was a $400 bill. Or in US funds $35. Wife asked me why I was taking flying lessons and I really didn't have a answer for her so I kind of gave it up.

Industrial mechanic aka Millwright. Worked in a plastic mould shop for first 15 yrs and hold machinist and mould maker tickets also. Worked in a coal fired power plant for 10 yrs now work for Praxair as the main maintenance mechanic. Basically call my self a roofer since my job covers everything from fixing a squeaky door to 5500hp compressors and everything in between.

I really never paid attention to the fit in the centre of the hood until @jaycanter and @Tony-b showed me the centre pad that was used on the earlier models. I found some rubber vibration pads with a threaded post and made my own center pad and mounted it on the dash side. Easy fix and looks so much better being even now

@jaycanter is already having SS withdrawals, he generously helped me yesterday and looked my machine over with his experience and pointed out a few things that I was not aware of.
He mentioned a few times about the wait to get his machine back from @Painter and you could just tell the wait was going to drag on him, his mind was racing on what he could buy for new mods while it was gone. I know I can't wait to see a masterpiece in person so being Jay himself it must be like being a kid on Christmas Eve. @Tony-b that cover looks great

    Just awesome!

I took a lady around the corner from me out for her 80th birthday for a spin and she told me to drive it like we stole it so I did. When we came back to the gathering in her driveway she let it be know I did things to her that no other man has done for her for yrs. Her husband looked at me and gave a thumbs up and a chuck. Amazing what a little bit of a ride can do to brighten up someone's day

Mbmedic, I work in Sarnia and live 20 minutes south. I would enjoy meeting up for a coffee with a fellow slingshot owner. I am the only current owner this side of the bridge in this area that I am aware of. Not sure when your coming this way but let me know

Just to add to the ages of children this is the wording from our Ontario Canada laws for the slingshot.

    * Passangers such as infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers to primary grade are not allowed in three-wheeled vehicles.
*also no trailers allowed behind a three-wheeled vehicle

This really sucks when your at your buddy's place and his 10 yr wants a ride after you take dad out and you have to try and explain the law that until he is in high school he can't. But you can go on a motorcycle at any age go figure

Names Tom aka gooseman, live in South Western Ontario on the US border between Detroit and Port Huron Michigan. I have the only SS in the area that I am aware of. Been drooling for one for awhile waiting for our Ontario government to allow them here. May 1st this yr and I could hardly wait. Having a blast in my base black waiting to get some mods done. Wife loves going for rides along the river front and just touring around. The looks and smiles we get are non stop. Looking forward to actually meeting other owners and talk shop. I am a industrial millwright and machinist by trade and love working on mechanical stuff and tinkering with things trying to improve upon.

Just wondering if anyone has released a digital copy yet? Just got my base model a few weeks ago and would love a service manual for it. Thanks gooseman
