If the po po caught me doing 90 mph I would be walking for awhile. Impound vehicle for 7 days instantly no matter who owns it (yours or your company's or borrowed doesn't matter it's gone) loss of driving license for 7 days then the court will decide after that. Minimum fine of $2000 upto $10000 or 2 yrs in jail all for 50 kms 31 mph over posted speed limit. Then insurance will make sure you don't forget for a few yrs

Oh yes the windchill, weather man said this mornings temp was 32*f but felt like 24*f ride after work was 55* and felt like 50* still can't believe we have had this weather in February. Still ice on the ponds and snow in the ditches.

Just FYI you don't need a passport to enter Canada, a birth certificate and drivers license is really all that is needed (passport makes thing easier) but getting back into the US they require a passport. I do know that Michigan does recognize what we call an enhanced drivers license as well so you are probably good to go but would definitely want to look into first to save a whole lot of headaches later

Beautiful morning to ride the sling into work this morning 0*C or for you guys 32*F supposed to reach mid teens by afternoon or mid to high 50*f so just had to bring it to work

I do a lot of my riding in Michigan with jay canter who proudly carrries and a few others that do also and I have never felt intimidated or fearful. I have a lot of family in the US as I am a dual citizen. I am just careful on where I go except one particular time. Just after getting the sling, i ordered my madstad windshield and had it sent to a friends place just on the outskirts of Detroit. No problems as it was in a decent area and we were able to get off the expressway pretty easy and back on so I thought. The ramp to get back on was closed so we followed the detour they had signed. Anyways it took us right down 8mile which at one time was the epic centre of bad ass Detroit. Talk about feeling uneasy! I said to the wife to lock the doors and if looks could have killed I wouldn't be here. Everyone was staring at us as we were driving by in the sling since they weren't many around. All I could think of was we were going to get jacked so I made sure I kept an out available if I needed to gun it out of there. We made it with out a problem and we chuckle about now and agin when we talk about rides

@gooseman, I totally get it - different culture, different country, gotta follow different rules, etc. I just dont like it. That's why I dont go to f&$%in' New Jersey. But this is Slingfest! Might be the only chance I ever get! So I'll suck it up.
How far are you from Sundre?3200 kms or about 2000 miles if you cut down through the US towards Chicago

Last year we did a trip up to Mackinaw Michigan and while we were having breakfast we seen the oscar myer weiner vehicle go by, when we got done we looked for it for a photo op but couldn't find it. I was thinking the same thing as you, a perfect opportunity that just couldn't be missed but we were unsuccessful. Pictures look awesome

@KayTwo even though you don't like it and to be honest I would like to be able to go hunting with a handgun around the farm, I really wouldn't want it any other way. If we have a problem with someone on the road or a druggie breaking into the garage or trying to take a vehicle there is a great chance that they won't have a handgun. The big cities it's a greater possibility for sure but in rural Canada it's not really a problem as of yet. I have never felt the need to have to carry for protection or fear of any danger.
Anyways the trip sounds epic and by the few responses so far I am quite sure you will end up with a convoy heading north -
Just remember you will need a passport and no handguns allowed into Canada. @MBMedic is closer to that area than myself so maybe he can chime in on roads. Certainly sounds like an adventure that you would never forget.
