FWIW: When I was looking and before I bought my used one a month ago, I talked to dealers about a new S or SL. Two dealers in my area both stated that no new S or SLs can be ordered this year, you will have to get a '23 S or SL. You can still order a new Slingshot higher than SL right now, but for S and SL you have to wait until they start taking '23 MY orders.

This is just a cheap phone holder setup I put together a few days back and thought I would share in case others wanted this info. This was made from the Onn universal phone holder kit from Wal-Mart for $10. Onn Phone Holder Kit

The kit comes with quite a few pieces but you'll only need the two circled in red in the first pic.

Here are a couple of pics of how the finished pieces look installed:

Here are the two pieces you need from the kit:

This is a closeup of the piece that needs modified. Cut the ball and stem off the end of this piece as close to the base as possible. After the ball and stem are cut off, drill a hole big enough for the bolt (next picture) to fit through. Drill down through where the ball and stem was attached.

Here is the bolt size I used. It is a bit too long, but it worked. (It's an M6 1x20. A 1x15 would have been sufficient.)

This setup works just fine for me. Note that I already had the aluminum window support in the Slingshot. It was in there when I bought it used.

Just throwing my comment in here as I feel it is appropriate I make my stand. As a veteran and a former sworn Sheriff's Deputy Reserve (yes, 10 years as a deputy for free), I can say that I have been in the "fatal funnel", I have been between the bullets and the target.

I can't tell any of you what to do, or what to feel -- but as for me I feel it is my duty to protect my family and those around me as best I can. There are sheeps and there are wolves -- I am a sheepdog.

Armchair quarterbacks that have weeks or months to decide how they would act have no idea what they'd do when they have less than two seconds to decide whether to fight or flee. If you don't want to be one of the victims or heroes, that's fine. But don't condemn those who have got your back whether you're thankful for it or not.

Before trying to apply the vynal clean the surface with a little rubbing alcohal. After clean & wax area... I have vynal graphics and lettering on my 2016 that have been going strong for 95,000+ miles.

Yup, used alcohol to clean it. I think my adhesion may be the (lack of) quality of my "test vinyl" material used on the lettering. If it doesn't last I'll get some Avery vinyl or something.

    But thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I have that heat shield, no red stripes in the seats either.

I haven't seen the silver and red, so I had just assumed it was a modification made by the buyer.

    I've attached a pic...

Thanks all. I'll definitely check out the Slingshots Storm the Mountains event.

I have already checked recalls and 9 to the 10 are done. I need to have the battery fuse location one done (the most recent one).

How would I know if it is the 2016.5 model for sure?

Thanks all! Looking forward to the Slingshot experience!

Just throwing my hat in the ring as a Slingshot newbie. Had a bit of a time finding one that was affordable and in great condition and close enough to me. Finally found one that met those criteria and went 5.5 hours to buy it on Saturday the 9th. Drove back on Sunday and with rain and an accident on 81 in Bristol TN, it turned into a 7 hour drive. Half of that drive was in the rain!

But all is well, Slingshot is home, has a new rear tire mounted (seller had it, just not mounted), changed clutch fluid and angle drive lubricant as well.

It's a 2016 SL that's Turbo Silver and Red. Pics soon I hope.

I will leave this here, as it shows the Slingshot throwing a tall rooster tail in the rainwater in a tunnel (and this is the actual Slingshot I purchased being shot on video by my daughter from my wife and her following me bringing the Slingshot home).
