I assume you're referring to the metal coolant pipe? Any way you can get a screwdriver in there? Maybe a sheet metal screw to plug the hole along with some JB Weld to help seal the screw/hole or maybe you'll get lucky and the JB Weld will hold for your trip home? If you manage to get the aluminum pipe away from the muffler, is it possible to dent the muffler enough to ensure clearance? First thoughts that came to mind. Wish I could offer a total fix suggestion.:/

I was able to get the bike home yesterday. I stopped every 45 minutes and topped off the coolant reservoir. Haha. 600 miles! Once I get the whole repaired or a new pipe there is a bracket that is used to move it away from the exhaust. The installer failed to tighten the bracket and the coolant pipe slid right back against the exhaust pipe. Thanks for the feedback.

Hang with me, a little long but I need some feedback.

So we went to the Ozarks this week and we had a great time until the last day. We were out in the middle of nowhere when the engine temp alarm came on. When I looked at the coolant reservoir it was empty. I know it was good when we left because it’s a part of my checklist.

I couldn’t see a leak anywhere so I thought it might be a bad reservoir. Luckily I had several bottles of water so I was able to get it back home and get some coolant.

My slingshot has the Thermal R&D sport exhaust. It was on the machine when I bought it. What I found was when they installed the exhaust they did not tighten up the coolant line relocation bracket.

The coolant line was rubbing against the exhaust piping and it wore a hole in it.

I’m not sure how I can get the coolant line out without removing the motor mount. Or maybe splicing with a high temp hose.

    HELP!

Haha! We’re new to the slingshot world but I wanted to say thanks for all of you. I’ve asked several questions over the past few months and y’all been very helpful.

    Hi,

We are going to be riding next week with the temps in the high 40’s to mid 50’s. We’ve done it plenty of times on the bike but what are y’all doing about your hands? I have heated gloves but I think that might be a stretch. I also have some mid weight Harley gloves that I’m thinking about using. Any feedback on what you do in this weather? I have the stock windshield.

    Thanks as always

Where in the Ozark mtn y’all riding. There are two of us forum members in Rogers

Not sure yet. Maybe to Hope the first day from Houston. Then we’ll either head North to Missouri or Northwest to Mena area.

I'm running 28 all around. Much lower than that and you risk bending a rim on rough roads.

I'm running a little lower profile than you so 28 should keep you safe but factory recommends higher and if you do lower pressures it's at your own risk.

I know someone who bent a rim running 26 so keep that in mind, and when traveling you can't predict road conditions.

where would I find factory recommendations? The tires say a max of 50

What tire pressures are y’all running?

I have 245/35/20 on the front and 315/30/20 on the back.

Do y’all increase or decrease pressure for city or country driving.

We are headed for the Ozarks soon so I wanted to get your opinion on the pressures

    Thank You!

The best thing that you can do is get LOTS of seat time in before spending to much money on the mods. My favorate MOD is gas for more smiles to the mile. Welcome to the "World of Slingshot Insanity".

I appreciate that wisdom. I may or may not have made that mistake before. Ha!

yes, you need a hub, a quick disconnect & then the steering wheel. You can either get all three from one of the vendors like slingmods.com or slingshot only.com or you can get them directly from the manufactures like DDM, Assault & NRG or any of the others - Personally I got my steering wheel and the DDM hub from slingmods, but I ordered the quick disconnect from Amazon as I found a better price there

    thank you

Thanks for the feedback. So I need a hubby’s and a steering wheel correct?

I’m from South of Houston near Galveston. We’ve only had it since June so we’re still getting our feet wet in the Slingshot community.

I have a Gerbing jacket liner and use a cig lighter adapter directly to the Slingshot center out let. Works great for me. Also have a 12 volt heated seat pad (can use car/truck/slingshot) that works nice and under $20.00.

    hmmmm something to think about.

Connected all my heated gear directly to the battery years ago. No issues to date. Plenty of openings to run the wires. Of course they are fused.

that’s what I thought. I’ll just have to get some longer wires to make it work. Appreciate the feedback

    hello all,

I have some heated gear from my Harley days. It’s the kind that connect directly to the battery and then plug into your gear. I am going try to do the same thing with them to my slingshot. It looks pretty straight forward to me , but is there something I might be missing? Thanks

well I pulled the 12v receptacle between the two seats out and no wires were connected to it. Ha. I found them dangling and connected them.....wouldn’t you know....I got power.

@ultracott is correct. There should be Velcro strips glued to the frame that match up with the Velcro strips attached to the canvas. If need be, contact Twist Dynamics and buy some replacement strips for the frame. If you don't have any strips on the frame, I'd recommend asking them if they have any pics showing where the strips go on the frame. The replacement strips aren't on the TD website (https://twistdynamics.com/), but I believe they can be special ordered using the Contact Us at the bottom of the website. I ordered a replacement set a couple years ago.

thank you! That’s what I thought but wanted to verify
