The set I have basically uses only headphones jacked on the Bluetooth device. While they currently sound "ok", if something happens to them, I will likely be going to a BOSE set. Although it might be a bit too good. Will need extra attention while driving for sure.

When I was at alpha got to see the 4 wheel sling. Got me thinking that it needs some sort of body kit or something with air scoops to feed the brakes. And some sort of fenders or something.

I think that there is room for a new Batmobile in here :)

All kidding aside though, A "Wing Kit" similar to the 1989 version would look damn sweet on the 4 wheeled version of the Sling. Something that would mirror or compliment the flare on the front.

Awesome bro, thats great. Wondering how that chicken coop is coming, ;) , lol
I'm struggling with getting my Sling parts delivered before possible Canada Post strike.

That's why I am making the trip down there to get mine put on, lol.

    1) I don't want to put them on ( I am that not mechanically inclined )
    2) F&^% Canada Post right now, (Yes they have their reasons and deserve the increase in pay, just sucks for us is all)

At this time, I am not looking at making a purchase, I was more inquiring about the product itself.

That said, so if I understand you correctly, if you touch the new paint job at all, it will peel? How the hell does that work then with every kid and hot chick wanting to touch it? Easy to yell at the kid, but who am I to say no to a pretty lady? lol

So I take it that this is due to the oils and such transferring from the skin? Or does this occur even if you had gloves on?

    Just curious.

Has anyone played with the products from DipYourCar.com ?

It sort of seems like something that could ideally fit with a Slingshot. With a bit of effort you can simply peal your existing paint and get into a whole new look.

It seems simple enough, I was just curious if anyone had any actual experience with it, and how it worked for them.

Oh my. Those pictures show serious, direct impact. The distance between the vehicles looks a hundred feet or more. Prayers for sure.

While, yes, there is quite a bit of distance between the vehicles, it is not uncommon for some drivers to pin the gas following a collision rather than the brake simply because they are shook up and don't realize what's happening.

I once had a patient T-bone a car travelling at highway speeds, drive through the ditch, continue behind a building and circle behind it in a field, then keep driving another 1/4 mile, all while missing the driver's front wheel.

    People react so interesting sometimes.

Thoughts & prayers sent out to those involved.

Interesting point of view. However, my issue has less to do with the trailer, and more about the break down.

Now, I am not saying that there are (or are not) better trailers out there to be had. Personally, I would love the molded one that Slingmods offers that matches the Slingshot. However, as I just bought the SS, I simply needed a cheap & ready to go trailer. Found this one used and the rest is history.

I've built many trailers myself, and have used many types all my life, so I know the feel of a good trailer and a bad one. Never felt this particular trailer jump out of line or misbehave even once during the trip. To be honest, barely knew it was back there. That said, somehow, the hitch still broke. That can only happen with a fault of the hitch through either manufacturing or installation error, OR the trailer did something that caused the break. I do not believe this to have been the case.

It's a moot point however now. Henry at Alpha has been amazing and I can not say one bad thing about their customer service. They are outstanding and for that alone, I look forward to some more mods on my SS :)

@MBMedic I did the CAI first and didn't notice much of a performance change. After adding the Alpha Header to the CAI I noticed I nice increase. Then I did an exhaust and again a nice bump.

Could you do me a favor and go header first? I'm wondering if that may be the best bang. If you notice a nice bump with the Header alone, that would tell me that the stock manifold is the most restrictive stock item. As for getting the time first, I think you should wait until you are done with the CAI, header and exhaust. If you do the time first you will notice a difference, but will have to get a reflash after you add the other things to get the best performance.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I have set aside the funds I have for the Brake mount, LED Grill and the CAI. I suppose I could re-allocate the grill to include the headers, but that puts me with the stock muffler at this time, and leaves me without the extra lighting that I was hoping to get into as I do a lot of night driving.

I am not so much looking for the instant bang for the buck, as much as I am looking at my SS as "A work in progress".

However, thanks for the info on the ECU. It makes sense to simply wait until the work is all done. Just means I will be waiting until next winter for the ECU tune. Which is fine, because I can look forward to the headers & side exhaust next summer.

So I am looking at dressing up my SS this route. Turbo has me a bit hesitant as I really can't afford the motor if I manage to pop it, lol. (Let's face it, with the Turbo, we would be tempted to play harder, lol)

So I am going to spend my time & money slowly getting the addons as I can afford them. Starting with the Cold Air intake. Next will be the headers & exhaust.

My question is this. The ECU, should I be sending this in for the tune right away, or wait until I actually have these mods on? Playing with motors is a bit new territory to me as I've never owned something I wanted to play with before. (kids are finally grown and out of the house. It's Dad's time to be a kid now!!) That said, sending in the ECU over the winter months seemed the smart way to go.

Ultimately I will be looking hard at the LS3 in about 5 years after both warranty & payments are done. Until that time, this seems like the best way to go.
