DOES ANYONE HAVE THE CORRECT BELT TENSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE 2016MY? ALSO HOW TO PERFORM THE BELT TENSION? I AM THINKING OF JUST TAKING IT TO A DEALER AND LETTING THEM DO IT. I 1ST THOUGHT THAT THE WHINNING NOISE WAS DUE TO BELT MISLAIGNMENT BUT AFTER LOOKING AFTER NEW MODELS 2016 AND A 2017 THE BELTS ARE IN THE SAME POSITION ON ALL OF THEM. 1ST PHOTO IS OF THE 2017, NEXT 2 ARE OF 2 2016'S, NEXT IS A 2017 AND THE LAST PHOTO HERE IS OF MY BELT.

What is causing the whining noise after letting off of the gas? Just start last night.

Thank you everyone that suggested causes for my ESP problem that is fixed. It was the brake switch.. The brake modulator had nothing to do with it.

Most likely the belt is running on the outside edge of the rear pulley. Most people refer it as a belt squeal on deceleration. Adjust the belt to the center of the rear pulley and that noise should go away.

    how do you do that

The Whining Noise! as you can see the Belt is not centered, what needs to be done?

well that depends on thick the Polaris insulation is? Also how does the passenger comp. feel the way it is now? Di loves the new insulation kit installed. I wont think you would be able to add the DEI kit over the Polaris one. I had a hard time installing DEI over the thin coat of insulation that was already there.

On my 2016MY had 1 piece of insulation already installed on mine on the fire wall and I installed the DEI over it. As you can see in the 1st picture on the upper right hand corner you can see the original piece of insulation.

I have installed the DEI kit, on my 2016MY. There already is a very small insulating shield on the fire wall, what a joke that is. We rode one day for about 220 miles and my wife had to hang her legs up and over the bars to keep her feet and legs cools. The floor was very very hot. well I got the kit and was able to install just as they say. I did though call them and talk them while installing. the reason I did that there is a video by Slingking on how to install the fire wall jacket, which I didn't like because he cut 1 of the installation tabs off. Slingking and I both have the same exhaust (Alpha Electronic exhaust) which is much smaller than the stock. I was able to get the jacket installed without cutting off 1 of the tabs. the remainner of the insulation pieces were not as hard to do. I have not installed the 1 though located behind the radio.

I also installed the exhaust jacket. Because there was quite a bit of insulation jacket left over I cut a piece to match the Gen 1 floor mats on the passenger side, I cut double sided tape and attached to the jacket and then weighted it down with blocks over night. You will not believe how much cooler the floor is now. the floor only gets a little warm. pictures attached to show you what I did

I removed the brake light modulator and still have the same problem, no brake lights, it stays on the whole time. Friday it is going into the dealer to see if they can fix the problem. Not leaving there without a new brake light switch, they have 3 SS's there on the showroom floor. Any other helpful information would be appreciated.

MUSKEGON BIKE TIME, JULY 14TH THROUGH JULY 17TH, IN MUSKEGON, MI. OVER 100,000 OR SO THEY SAY PEOPLE COME EVERY YEAR. I HAVE BEEN THERE FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS. THIS IS THEIR 10TH YEAR

OK, I HAVE ALL THE INFO. PROBLEMS OTHERS ARE HAVING, THAT OTHERS HAVE POSTED ON THE ESP PROBLEM. I DO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW I DID READ THAT OTHERS ON HERE HAVE INSTALLED ANOTHER BRAKE SWITCH? OR WHAT? CAN YOU STRAIGTHEN ME OUT HERE. I AM TAKING IT IN ON FRIDAY FOR WARRANTY WORK ON THIS PROBLEM IF I DONT GET IT FIXED BEFORE HAND.

WHAT IS THE PHOTO SHOWING FROM MAY 6TH?

Good Morning and welcome to the site. It has been very helpful to me already and I have only had my SS for 2 months now but as of July 4th (exactly 2 months to the day) I logged 3,000 miles.
