@chavey2 you might try contacting @Capt SlingThing about customizing one of their trailers for you. I did and almost pulled the trigger, just opted for a different solution. They can Extend and it and add Camper type window's, insulation, cabinets, etc.. for you as well as AC and whatever else you can think of. I would assume it would come in close to the price you're looking at for a toy hauler.
    Just food for thought :whistling:

If you’re looking for a 1/4 mile contender in the SS you’re going to be disappointed with it. At 300 hp I’m still spinning the rear wheel easily at 40-50 mph. @rabtech can spin that rear wheel at over 90, I believe, and he’s running way over the hp numbers we’re talking. Try the 4 wheel conversion. That may help some. Not sure. ?(

hmmm, again, I posted somewhere about this, and Dave can probably chime in, but it's possible to run 300ish HP on the stock engine. In my case, Alpha Turbo, the only thing they recommended before increasing boost was the head bolts. 300ish hp has been been measured and tested on several dyno's with different vendor Turbos and/or SC and your engine's pretty safe running that. DDM's SC is running in that range as well while staying with the stock block. What you have to do with your setup to get there is anybody's guess. Now, if you want to go into real HP #'s, do what others are mentioning.... go out and get you a donor motor and build one up....then you can play with the big boys and their big HP #'s. I've been trying for 2 years to blow this motor up so I have an excuse to go there but she's still running strong (knock on wood)

Hey, question I've been thinking about... need some help with some info from folks like @Slingrazor and @ericastar76 who I believe are running stock engine and superchargers. Whats the high end of "safe" limits on the stock engine for boost pressure? I know some are running the 95 pulley and getting around 340HP, but what is the boost level for that? By my calculations, it's about 15 - 16PSI on a stock engine, no? Who else is running the supercharger with 95 pulley?

@SaltyClownNY SC or Turbo I wouldn’t push more than 10# on a stock engine. That’s pretty much the safe zone. If you want a little more assurance, throw in some ARP headbolts. Cheap insurance.

You're in the Dallas Metro area from the looks of it. There is definitely a 3 wheel alignment.. you'll have to find one close to you. Also, to center the steering wheel, they can center it as well when they do the alignment. I had mine done in Colorado springs by @bigdew.

That’ll guarantee the extra power you need, but reliability will be out of the question, well for turbochargers that is..

Man, you make some pretty inaccurate statements sometimes. Turbo's are just as reliable as SC are WHEN PROPERLY INSTALLED AND KEPT WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE ENGINE THEY'RE BEING INSTALLED IN. Yes, several have toasted their engines in search of bigger HP using both Turbos as well as SC's, but these are individuals who were experimenting with pushing the engines to see what they can do. We owe ALL of them a big debt of gratitude for the SS HP market being where it is today. Folks like Alpha and Hahn and I'm sure a couple of others were the ones willing to test the limits of these engines and have reliably been pushing these engines well over 240 hp for years. The stock engines with a PROPERLY installed turbo and a simple head bolt swap can easily run at 250 even 300hp all day long without any real issues so please don't make inaccurate statements like that. Especially since you're just now getting into this market. There are several of us that have been running our slings with well known and tested Turbo's for years now without any issues. Running them hard and running them long!!!

@cbailey7a, you're going to be hard pressed to find a solution that will completely remove exhaust fumes from cockpit... question for you: 1. Are you trying to get rid of exhaust for you or for your passenger? I have a+5 windshield as well as the bullet speed top on mine. When I had the Turbo installed I ran the side exit for over a year and I never smelled exhaust. My wife, however, complained about it the entire time. I finally gave in and installed the Welter rear, side exit (exits on my side) and all she's done is comment about how that's the best money I've spent on the SS. She absolutely loves it. I, on the other hand, am now the one that gets occasional whiff of exhaust, not to mention the droning of the exhaust tone. It's not bad at all and really I only get a whiff when I'm slowing down. It's as if the exhaust catches up to the sling. Jeff Welter gave me some baffles to put in for the noise, but I haven't tried them yet. I kind of like the increased performance as well as the increase in gas mileage (if you ever take the sling on a road trip, you'll know what I mean about gas mileage).
As far as getting air into the cockpit, or keeping it out in the winter, the baker air wings solved that issue. Not sure where you live, but I live in the desert southwest and it's hot as fuck right now so every bit of air I can get into the cockpit is good. I was actually thinking about the MC windshield vents and wondering how they would do on the sling. Curious to know how that works out for you. At any rate, for your exhaust fumes, the trick is to get the exhaust out into the vehicle's airstream and preferably low and to the side behind you, away from the low pressure area directly behind the sling. I really wanted the Welter dual setup, but even jeff himself will tell you that you'll get fumes in the cockpit, especially with the top (and worse as in my case) with the taller windshield.

So waste gate is to turbocharger what pulley is to supercharger?

mmmm, kinda.... anything above the spring rate is gonna shoot out the waste gate... that's the pshhhhhht! sound we all love. Stiffer spring rate=more pressure into the combustion before the springs open up. JUST DO ET!!!!! TURBO ALL THE WAY!!!! :P

@jorgebri60 good to see you had God's traveling mercy and grace on your round trip with the love of your life. Continue to enjoy those short outings on the road or in the air! Somehow your pictures look great posted from both vantage points. I'm sure you're in recovery mode right now lol

Thank you sir.... ALWAYS travel with Gods grace ;) . Stay safe out there brother!
