We were changing angle drive fluid up here once a year on our own Slings (and a few others), or every other year on all the rest. Now that we've got 85w-250 we're probably going to switch to every other year. It's cheap and easy enough to do. And the plugs are 8mm allen, not Torx. And yes, do not over tighten them, a gentle snug is all you need.

85w 250 huh? How's it working out? What brand you using?

Yep, 8mm hex is what I started to round it out with. Went with the Torx for a better bite. I will now go back to the hex.

I've changed my angle drive oil several times now and I think I over tightened the upper plug last time I changed it. I had a bitch of a time getting it to come out. Finally got it but buggered it up some so I ordered a new one along with the lower plug, (just in case). They are made of a different metal and seem to be a little better. I looked up the torque on these when I put them back this time and it's 12 ft lbs. Used the torque wrench when I replaced them and I'm thinking they should be fine next time I need to remove them.

Glad occupant is ok. I run the "dragon" in Tennessee a lot with my SS and there are several spots where you can get in trouble but "gravity cavity" aka "the dip" is a hard right hander followed by a dip and then hard left over a rise. If you make thru there of course there's another tight left and then right again. My point is I've hit GC pretty hard and never felt the inside tire get light or lose control. Definitely the weight distribution with the carrier that caused this unfortunate incident. Being a pilot I know full well how weight distribution upsets otherwise smooth flying...

I've been contemplating a class A but would go for a toy hauler version. I don't need a big bedroom and bath. So I'm willing to sacrifice. Hauling a trailer is not fun especially when trying to back up. Had a class a in the 90s 34' looking for smaller if I ever make the leap again.

31 ft.... I've never had a problem backing trailers up. I'm just having a problem finding one... LOL

Just sold mine (8.5x24 V Nose Cargo Trailer) a couple weeks ago. They generally have low enough ramps to get the SS in easily.

Have you looked at the car hauler specific flatbed trailers (not a pipe trailer)? I've noted that those generally are pretty low as well as they have a duck tail at the back that is a little lower. You have have the separate ramps switched out for a tail gate (expanded metal). I also saw one somewhere where they had made a hinged tail gate ramp that folded down pretty low for traveling.

    thanks, still looking.

We're closing a deal on a Class A this week and I'm going to need a trailer of some kind for the SS. I have an 18 ft flatbed that's just toooooo tall. I tried different things to get the SS on the trailer but it's just not going to happen. If anyone knows about a trailer for sale that will work with the SS, let me know. I don't check this forum a lot so drfubar@bellsouth.net is my email. Let me know... thanks.

Well boys, my Wife doesn't complain about the heat on the passenger side even when it's in the 90's, (I know a woman that doesn't complain is rare but I got one), so anyway I got thinking maybe if I blew some air over the muffler it would help keep the glove compartment a little cooler. I bought a $20 radiator fan and installed it under the hood on the passenger side upper frame. Also wired it into my power box so it's fused and it only comes on when the key is on. Has anyone else done this? We'll see if it works anyway.

Fixed her all up nice in the first picture:

Then I decided to pull it out of the garage and LMAO, it wouldn't clear the door by at least 6 inches! Years ago this would have had me throwing tools but I just laughed that I could be so stupid... This is the result after I cut them down so I could get it out of the garage. LOL, much better. Little lady and I are going for ice cream after the 96 degree temp comes down a little. I'm interested to see how they fly.
