Thank you for the pic, it looks great. I decided to order the black metallic one with the padded console. Hopefully it matches the slr black pearl inserts I am putting on.

I am looking at adding the Billet Gas Cap from DDM works but would like to see some pics of it installed. I would really just like to have a Billet Polished( or raw finish) with clear coat on it but I do not see that option. Would like to see the anodized silver and see what it looks like on the slingshot. I just called slingmods and they do not carry the anodized silver version, I wonder why? I wanted to order from them because of the free shipping and I am also wanting to order the ddm console.. Thanks for any help.

Oh that sux. Can you get a new spring ?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I have searched a little but have come up with nothing on just the spring. They are working on the warranty paperwork for the latch now but I may have to drive down to get it warrantied.

If the spring is still there it can be popped back in place to work again. I had it happen once.

Yeah the spring is still there but the problem is, it is broke. It has to have a 90 degree hook on both ends to hold it onto the latch itself.

Got home from work and noticed the left rear hood latch(closer to the windshield) was not latched. I open the hood and the latch does look a little dry so I lube it. Still the same problem. So I try adjusting the latch, no difference. I then switch the latch with passenger rear latch. No difference. I finally after about an hour of fiddling with it notice that the front latch spring is broken. It was letting the front latch lay down and it was just enough difference to cause the rear latch not to lock. Is this a common problem? I now have two options. A: Buy latch for 55.00 and install it. B: Drive slingshot to the nearest dealer which is over 1 1/2 hours away and wait for them to fix it under warranty.

I really need to try that Lucas Speed wax as the interior detailer is fantastic.

That is really nice. Would love to see more pics of that one.

I have no idea how some of you were able to take these off and put them back on. Mine from the factory had 6 broke off plastic studs on the left and 7 broke off on the right(There are only 13 total per side including the one in the front). Had to apply some pressure with a screwdriver to get the screws completely out as they were just spinning because they were broken. Also on the front what kind of tricks did you all use to get the 3 tabs out? I kind of rolled mine out and it seemed to work alright. Think I am going to use the velcro on the new pieces like Rab did. Thinking this might work.

It does look clean from the pics. It is just a base model(which you may be fine with). Looks like a decent price.

So did you scrape all the old double sided tape off or did you just place the new panels over the old tape? thanks again
-
What mounting tape is everyone using for the hood accent panels. I ended up ordering them in the black pearl color and I am trying to figure out what roll of double sided tape I need before they come in. Thanks for any advice.

That seems like a good deal on that 16 sl. I have no problem with the miles, as long as it looks like it has not been abused.

FYI. Since the end of November 2014 when the first slingshots were delivered, I have only heard of one slingshot being stolen. That was due to the owner leaving the keys in the ignition. I'm sure there must have beem more than that one since not every owner is on the forum, but percentage wise, I don't think they are any more prone to be stolen that any other motorcycle. In fact, they are probably stolen less than the average Harley
I would agree. I still get people who have no earthly idea what it is, much less how to start it. If I was going to do anything it would be the quick release steering wheel. Congrats on the new slingshot.

Going to clean the sling really good this weekend and thought about cleaning the drive belt.

What nylon brush is everyone using?
thanks
-
As I have always heard, you cannot sell out of an empty wagon lol. So is it Polaris pulling the plug on these dealerships or are dealers not wanting to stock them? Polaris needs to stock these dealers if they want sales to increase.
-
I am more surprised by the stock rear wheel dyno number being 163. Is this a common number for a stock slingshot? I thought GM only rated this motor at 173? Also love the fact that it hold the torque above 160 from 3600-5200. Would love to see how much improvement just getting rid of that cat would make.

Trying to decide if I want to buy coilovers or not. If I buy them will I need to get the slingshot aligned? If I do need it aligned can any alignment shop do it? I do not have a local Slingshot dealer is the reason I am asking. On the back I just need to set the belt tension correct? Any special tools needed?
thank you for any and all advice.

How did it feel power wise compared to ours?
