Most dealers charging actual time for heat kit install. Not just 2 hours. Nice you got lucky

yea my dealer has been awesome .... However I don't think the next guy will get by with the 2 hour charge. I was the first they had done. I did try and tell them that from what I had read that 2 hours wasn't long enough.

    Update:
Took my SS in this morning to have the airflow management kit installed and have the headlights checked.
    1. The suggested time from Polaris to install the airflow kit was 2 hours ... 5 1/2 hours later they had that part finished LOL .... Said they would know better next time :)

    2. On the headlights they said the relay/breaker was loose in the fuse box. They replaced the relay and the new one was fitting loose also. They are continuing to talk to Polaris about it and said when they had answers they would call me. Said if it took replacing the whole wiring harness to get the issue resolved that's what they would do.

I've really had excellent service from my dealer and have no doubt they will do whatever it takes. Everything is holding fine now

Yep... I was on my way just for a little ride and a wasp landed on my chest and I glanced down for a second and when I looked back up the car that I was about 3 car lengths behind was stopped. No time to stop and nowhere to go. I hope it can be fixed. The damage seems to be mostly the front clip, hood, headlights and brackets, about 7" of the right tube where the front clip attaches at the top is bent a little, and a few wrinkles in the dash panels. But the basic frame looks good. I'm sore across my chest where the seat belt crosses and my left knee is a little bruised and swollen where I hit it on the steering column otherwise I'm fine.

Im sure it can be fixed, the main thing is there are no major injuries

Ive been to a few rally's and even taken part in several poker runs in the SS and never had any negative comments. The Harley riders seem to either ignore it or seem really interested in the SS.
I did have a biker say once "even though he liked the SS he didn't see the point in it" I just looked him in the eye and said, the POINT is the ride and being in the wind... he then smiled and said "that i understand"

Switching the relay Friday while the dealer is installing air flow management kit. They are gonna ch ck things over while its there. Will post any information I find out.

We'll have my first real issue today. Noticed a reflection of my headlights in the car in front of me at a red light. They were flashing on and off randomly. When we got home and could get out and look it was the center lights flashing and not the outboard lights.
Remembered reading about this issue on the dark side and if I remember right it was the relay overheating and replacing it seemed to fix the issue. Don't recall anyone saying it was just the center lights tho.
I'm having my dealer install the "airflow management kit Friday and they said they would check the light issue also and go ahead and replace the relay at the same time.
I'll try and report back here the results as to the fix. Maybe this will help someone in the future if they have the same issue.

I assume you mean the maintenance matrix, the one that says "R" the oil and "I" everything else, LOL. Im going to have them do all that, I guess I'm asking more along the lines of, besides asking about the ECU, and making up my mind about the angle drive oil change (I've seen 3500 mi and 5000 mi also mentioned as first change), is there anything else folks have learned the hard way, or thru trial and error?

yep that's the one I was talking about

So, my dealer does free oil changes for life, so I'm going to let them do the first one (500 mi), since I don't have a lift, or even jack stands anymore, and I'm too damn gangly to go crawling under anything lower than my Silverado.

Curious what else I should ask about, depending on price...I keep reading about having the ECU checked, but as new as the machine is, I don't know if it would need it. Also, I'm guessing 500 miles is too early to change the angle drive oil? What else should I try to get in front of?

my dealer used the check-off sheet from the owners manual. Me made a copy and checked off everything listed on the 500 mile list and gave me a copy he signed.

Oh, my husband would love to do that! He likes the dark ales. Good hobby Kenny J.! By the way a huge THANK YOU for your volunteer work. Our town has volunteers and they are great when an emergency happens in town. I grew up in a City with paid services and moving to a town with volunteers was a big eye opener. Your community is sure lucky to have someone like you protecting them.

Ales are really all i brew. I like IPAs so i do a lot of them. I wish i was set up to do lagers but i dont have the room for a freezer to keep the fermenting temps that low... yet.
Our city has all paid services however I live outside the city and we are all volunteer out of the city.
