Has anyone looked at their belt and pulley position.
Guess with only 5k miles I never bothered to look close.
But see belt on front pulley all the way to inside edge and approx 5/16 of pulley exposed on outside.
And from the wear of pulley looks like it has been there since new.
But wondered if it should be adjusted to center of front pulley????
This offset seem to be normal setting ????

After driving to Maggie Valley with Alpha turbo and quiet exhaust and interstate long driving the exhaust drone in front with my tinnitus (ringing in ears and Loud )
been thinking of Welter Rear exhaust.
Those that have it do you hear any exhaust drone from front or all in rear .
Is exhaust note loud / annoying while driving with or without helmet.

I am looking at Welter Rear Exhaust to get exhaust noise away from front.. I have tinnitus and even with Alpha Quiet exhaust it
still bothers me with drone noise.
Putting miles on interstate heading to Maggie Valley was when it really hurt my hearing.
Those with rear exhaust from Welter ,does it remove most front noise ???

Go to LA or Chicago and drive in slower traffic than parade ..I did Chicago 2 years ago and took 3 hours on BMW Rt in heavy rain and truckers were laughing.
So go and enjoy parade and not traffic like so many do every day.

Angel is it worth going to upholstery shop and getting thin rain covers made up to fit over Gen 2 PRP's for rain use ???

I am thinking of sticking with Gen 2 but no extra padding but with Lumbar support .
I have Titanium SS and was going to gamble with Mandarin Orange covering ???? would like to see them in person ..LOL
My second choice is Light Gray Suede with Tuxedo Gray Tweed which I believe I will go with .

I was afraid PRP seats would dampen pants or worse with rain use..
But if we can make rain covers and they ( PRP SS )are more comfortable than stock seats I believe they worth purchasing.

Are you sorry you purchased SS seat now and did not get 1 gen ???? Did you get Lumbar Pump installed in yours??
    Thank You for write up.

Saw few seats at Maggie Valley and would like to know what others think about options.

See they have 2" plus foam and wonder what other riders think of this in SS .Is it comfortable and does it make you feel to high sitting on it..I am 6' tall ??
Does the lumbar give good support on back with this option ???

And has anyone ordered Mandarin Orange color seats..And wonder if it has a orange / red look or really orange ???

I had a Mini S Cooper with Redwood interior and luv ed it and with Titanium Color and Orange interior wonder if to bold..

The other seats I may order are Gray Suede and wonder what suede does in rain and how wet it stays and how hard to get it dry.

Or is this suede PRP uses pretty water resisting ??????

Looking at your SS damage and I am not a fan of the huge tubes for roofs of the SS but looks like it may have stopped the cable from hitting wife in face ????
And are you both using standard seat belts or other belt system??

What are your thoughts about driving SS in rain and making it more safe to drive ??

I know going down to Maggie Valley we were doing 65 in heavy rain and no puddling and then all of sudden puddling and felt lifting and slowed to 55 mph and still
felt some out of control and slowed to 45 to 50 and felt more comfortable but on edge whole time wondering if this is still safe speed.
Surely not a good feeling not being able to see with windshield wet on both sides and had to rip my visor off and wipe interior side of windshield just to see some distance.

This was one thing since I experienced it with SS that I told Polaris Reps they may need to address it with more SS's hitting the road and making a rear tire to at least
    help with this problem..
I know I would change tires for traveling vs home driving if they were available.

Glad to hear you made it home.. Hope wife will mend and get back in SS ??? I know what that feels like after last year falling in S.D on BMW with wife.
Wish you both well and hope you can mend SS also without costing a fortune..
Get Well and glad you survived.

I talk to Polaris staff after Diner @ Maggie about this with SS and the hydroplaning.
Ask about them looking into 2 narrow round tires for rear in place of 1 wide tire for doing long distance.
I know I would purchase such a tire rim for travel to avoid hydroplaning.

    Get well

These SS's are a different animal than anything we have driven and only been on market for over a year now and a learning curve for sure.
Having owned 3 three wheelers before SS and luv ing every one other than Can Am for being to top heavy for my type of driving.
But the other 2 Triking and JZR both having motorcycle tires I never had the concern of driving them as I do with SS.
But SS is more powerful and more car like than other 3 wheelers that I drove.
So those going to Maggie Valley take your time and if it rains will fight you for underpass space..LOL
See You next week those that are going...Safe Travels

    SS bad weather driving thoughts
I am never one to pull over in any weather and usually challenge myself in bad weather.
But that was with 2 wheel motorcycles and now see others with SS having accidents and just
out of no where it happens and story after story.
And also know that with turbo SS the power comes in nicely but with rain it will brake rear wheel
more faster even when you think it isn't taking place.
And when you are tired and thinking of others and wondering if you can get away with just few more miles.
So at 65 yrs old will listen and slow down and if heavy rain exist will pull over .
I do still want to wake up another day and enjoy a ride is the SS & Evora .
And after dropping 2 wheeler last year with wife, want her to not fear SS and having another
accident and enjoy what we have and wakeup another day.
Thank You every one for your thoughts on subject and lets all make it a safe trip to Maggie Valley and
    live to do another one.

So do you feel that keeping SS around 55 to 60 in rain and keeping rear tire off the center oil strip would be a safe to not worry to much????
And it sounds like moderate rain is ok but heavy rain sounds like time to pull over if heavy puddling is seen ??

Gadgeteer would like to thank you for your time in writing and sharing your experience..
I know with SS being new every example of experience will help others and give us all a
knowledge of hopefully making SS a safer vehicle to drive as we all learn.

I wonder if riding in rain it would be better to have left front closer to center of lane to allow rear
wheel to stay out of center oil patch.
I did this with smaller Triking and JZR but SS being larger may be hard to do.
But if I get caught in rain will give it a shot and not drive so fast with off center in lane.
    Something to think about.

Wow Gadgeteer..Thank god you and wife survived and walked away !!! And thank you for being honest about things you did wrong.
But the one thing you did right was post .Thank You !

Now few questions ... Do you feel 4 point belts would have helped in your situation and impact you and wife had ?
Will wife be able to get back into SS after accident ?
Do you feel that you should have changed stock tires?
And will you still pull a trailer?
And do you remember air pressure you were using in your tires?
And how fast would you drive in rain with new SS ?

I know my wife did not feel comfortable on our BMW RT12 fall last year. And main reason for that is after picking up bike I drove like I did not
fall and drove back to lodge doing 75 mph in rain and sleet.
I really have to slow down with this SS and that is hard for me in rain but I am going to listen to your story in back of my head if raining.

And I am running 28 front and 30 rear for my ride to Maggie Valley from NJ with 18" all the way around with Nitto 555 .
It sounds like trial and error with each type of tires used and how much rain and ect.
    And some good luck !!!1
