Hey if we are outcast than so be it !!!!! But like most say we went from 2 wheels to 3 wheelers for reasons some do not want to admit to.
Most are old geezers (yes me at 66) . I can not slow down on 2 wheelers and drive like a 20 yr old and fell down with wife 3 times in hairpin corners.
So at Deadwood SD where we fell was First 3 wheel Rally of Deadwood 2014 and looked at wife and Henry from Alpha was there and talked to him and
told him we fell yesterday in Needles on BMW and ask could I take it for ride. He looked at wife and I and said yes take it out.
10 miles and looked at wife and said can not fall over , can roll ..LOL And 2 months later ordering one and Henry had
a customer for life ,Turbo, wing, brakes, suspension and few other small items.

I just went few weeks ago for my first Slingshot ride with 13 others through covered bridges of Pa..
Enjoyed it but to much control for my taste and traffic and waiting and budding in to keep everyone together.
Then 2 days later went back by myself and enjoyed the ride 100% more. Can stop take pictures when you want and
stop and eat when you want.. That is my SS riding I prefer.. Each to their own.. but get out and ride !!!

Is your SS stock suspension and brakes and non turbo???
And will tell you that I am 66 now and I can see the last 5 years I do not push like I did ?
But have taken few people for rides and I thought they can handle the corners .
And was kind of taken by surprise they told me to stop.
But I know when I drove the Hurricanes and BMWRT's Not many stayed with me in corners.
But that was then and today I think more going into a corner is there oil, stones ,(fell 3 yrs ago in Needles SD
hairpin turn and gravel the reason I own SS ,wife was on and bike fell on her and saved the bike..I am not laughing ).
But few years and can not believe I have little more sense.

And the reason I mention cost is that a lot of people ask and I tell them and they say you could have had this or that.
But I like weird ! My wife is pissed because I am going to buy Vanderhall .Do not know why but I want one.
But if you ride to prove our skills we all have stories and we all get older and if you drive a wife and she has put up with a lot of
fast corners but know she wants to see Her Grandkids not mine so I do have to slow it down some..

When you really think about it .the weight savings on rear suspension, the widest of any front suspension made out there, The low center of gravity
and if you have better than stock tires in width and compound, better suspension and brakes it is close to race ready for cornering.

The only downside is slingshot will never hold its on in rain but winner for most hydroplaning and slowest vehicle driving in rain.

And not cheap when you put all the extras into it.. I know I am at over 40k. And worth what 22 to 25k maybe at that.LOL

But fun to drive and have everybody coming over to talk about and take lots of pictures where ever I park it.

Took it to show last Friday with guys with Camaro's / Mustangs and had the biggest crowd around my SS asking more questions ..LOL

I have more fun with my Slingshot than I do my Lotus Evora.
But slingshot is turbo and Evora is N/A.
The slingshot is 5" wider outside of tire to outside of tire than my Evora. The SS is 6' 7 "
And with Alpha 2 way suspension and upgrade brakes and rotors .
The slingshot corners as good as my Evora.
The slingshot I probably push harder into corners for it is 1500 lbs lighter than Evora .
So I would say unless you have a all out race car the slingshot in corners should do very well.
If you are starting from stand start the slingshot has no traction compared to 4 wheel .

And in 2015 when I bought my Slingshot and dealer took me for ride in first Alpha turbo they installed and told them order Slingshot and Turbo.
So when I received my SS it was 1 bar alpha and then 4 months later 2 bar was out.
So called Henry and for $500 had upgrade done to 2bar and running 6 psi.
Still pretty happy with it .Sure times I wish I had more and if I had more probably get me in more trouble.

I have been looking for same size custom mirrors as stock size.
I bought the carbon fiber side views and they are much smaller than stock,
and have not grown to like them in size for viewing.

So thinking if I can get stock ones apart without damaging them I will make custom housing and
    arm to attach to sling.

thank you if you can share with me how to..LOL

Can I ask a question of this group ???? Why in the hell did they put Brake Failure when I still have brakes and no cruise control when this light comes on.
Should have read cruise interruption light..
But Tuesday taking my Pepperwhite SS in for Cruise interruptor light.
    Have a Good weekend

I would say not skill ..I start something and wonder why the hell I can not leave anything alone. And more my wife and her thoughts .
But I start something and think just do this and that and then in my case I throw probably 1/2 and if not more away with
    just revision after revision .
The first two designs I throw everything away and scraped the alum that I bent trying to make first design.
More determined just to have what no one else has more than anything is what drives me.
Except for my 2003 SSR and 2011 Lotus Evora I will not touch these other than drive them. LOL

But if you were to by mat and resin and play with it you will be surprised what you can do if you really want to.

My hood started with 2 pieces of 2x4 and a radius on each side for left and right for molds and then
    you just keep going.

The long piece of fiberglas in pic is I make 3 to 4 foot long pieces on a 2x4 and with that I cut many slices into it both side so
that it flexes around corners and fiberglas over it to make solid edges.
The nose of my SS was made with fiberglas wall board and then fiberglas over to keep form.
So I make things but not with professional ability but just determination..

I must be old..LOL.. I have everyone that calls me asshole only because that is what I call everyone..LOL .But never SIR.
You must be much younger or few days younger than I..

I will say with this setup this SS is pretty Areo driving it. No more fenders flapping and hood trying to lift even at 100 mph.
So if you got enough people wanting this setup sure someone could make molds even with plastic that SS body
is made from and make parts.

I used steel I had laying around to make most of SS build.
I know the belt guard I just went Tuesday to Home depot to get 1/8" X 2 X 48" lg steel to make it and bent it around a
LP gas tank which is close did to SS rear pulley..LOL
So I could make a fiberglas belt guard to save weight but thinking of leaving it steel which probably added 8 lbs to it.LOL
Well every one going with 10 others on ride through some (8) covered bridges NJ and Pa area Sunday hope rain is gone by then.
    Have a good weekend everyone

This is my second design of attachment of fenders and they do not shake or move were they are located now.
I have a few that I made but need finishing.
But being 66 and one man band I do not see my self getting into fenders for SS.
I put so many hours in with this for well 9 months I am tired and just want to drive it for a while.
My next project will be making roof for it when weather gets cooler.
But here are pics of how I attached fenders using 1" X heavy square tubing.

Couple things here..My Brake Failure Light has been on for over a year.........
But I have been working on it for 9 months and backing out garage those 9 months with 2 red lights.
The Brake Failure Light and OMG Seat Belt light. 2 F''''' red lights.
Now there is 2 things I can do.
One make a fiberglas panel to cover the red lights or put the Sling on rollers and
start it up and free wheel and enjoy the RPM and sounds of turbo exhaust.
I have run my Sling to 100 mph and have brakes with red failure light and seat belt light.
The reason for seat belt light I was using Schroth 4 point belts that day.
Tuesday I take SS to dealer to have Brake Failure Light removed so it will never come on again.
Just kidding going to have it fixed.

Thank You.. Wish I had another SS at times when working on my own..
being a one man designer ,fabricator, and the one who says not good enough and
revision after revision..Yikes they add up to lots of months..LOL
At 66 the fiberglassing I am getting tired of doing it and itchy all night for months
and having trouble with the fine tuning of body work with feel and eyes.
Will do few things but think this is last big project.
Trying to weld today and not being able to see weld puddle and eyes are tired ..
Its been fun and not going to stop but going to slow down and enjoy the toys i have.
    And the new possible Vanderhall.
And next year going to Deadwood SD for 3 wheel rally there was there for first 2014 with no 3 wheeler to drive.
So hopefully will be there with Slingshot 2018...Luv that area for riding...Thanks all Joe..and I have a roof to make for it this fall yikes need a roof LOL

I am taking a break after the hood took 7 weeks and today the belt guard..
I want to maybe maybe remove the front lower wing this fall and try something new.
and thinking of maybe removing chrome headlight and going to LED front lights.
Just install the rear view mirror on Sunday..
So with min 9 months of this being down going to enjoy few months of riding .
I luv the movement of the open fenders while driving as long as I keep the other eye on the road.
I test drove a Vanderhall venice and thinking in ate Fall of getting one.
It is a solid built machine only down side is cockpit very tight.
And can see some of my finishing touches already working on it.
But never would do to it what I have done to Slingshot.
Will keep you updated if I do anything else to this sweet ride I enjoy but Not Done Yet..LOL
