Going to be a cross between a VW GX3 and Campagna V13 ..
I wanted to buy a V13 but driving this Slingshot with everything the way I like it other
than the way it looks I decided to finish what I started..
The V13 only 122HP vs this SS at 280 and that is a lot to let go in fun factor.
The only other thing will be added will be big brakes.
I had fenders made and nose made 3 yrs ago for it and that was when I decided to just throw it
together after being apart for over a year and drive it.
Now I have Vanderhall for backup and decided to complete SS and get rid of lower spoiler and
anything that looks like SS and clean up interior while I am at it.
So hopefully few months I will have fiberglas foam on it and start finishing..
So this pic was taken Nov of 2015 to get idea off my thoughts for SS after purchasing brand new in sept of that year..
And yes my wife was pissed I was cutting it up. -
Cbailey you want to see my front end today.. here are pics of it today..I cut 12 inches off front and going to cut 6" off rear frame
Also going to cut 6" off the length of dash this time -
well it is a cheap plastic hanging and very easy to move someplace or take the hanging plastic and raise it to a lighted license plate holder with lights built in .
I used LED lights in the bolt holes of license plate . -
Just did a covered bridge ride up into Bucks County Pa..What a fun day and had nice compliments on the SS..
Nice to hear people say nice things.. -
That is were Vanderhall license plate is located on left hand side of rear tire.

I have never seen a fender that chewed up from any every day riding..
So either you did not prep it right or you are picking up not stones but rocks to do that damage..
I suggest you remove the fender and just stick with stones and rocks hitting back plastic of SS rear that will never show that kind of damage.Or get out your sander and refinish and if it happens this bad again then you will be sanding every year ..
The only other thing is the fender is flexing being hit and your paint is not and may want to put flex agent in paint.
Good Luck
-
thank U...Going to be cutting front end off very soon to get rid of lower spoiler look
and more stream line look..Hopefully..this was my third body attempt and was getting tired of working on it..LOL
Picture of new cleaned up rear with bars removed and box inserts and new gas cap made from original cap

I have had full fenders on my Slingshot now for almost 3 years on all wheels and never see any of what you are showing.
Other than backing out of garage last fall and cracking right front fender in center for not paying attention. Are you going down stone driveways at fast pace???
Show the whole rear fender picture to get better look at what you have.
-
Probably not long enough that tire is kicking up stones and debris and causing this.
I found this out on Vanderhall fenders not being long enough and kicking stones up.
You could try a small mud flap to see if it stops it any farther. -
I would like to know with six piston calipers if you have less leg pressure
and going with13" rotors vs old 11"..
And if stopping distance is really that much better.
I know hearing in track conditions less fade but I I will be riding street.I had installed the Alpha better rotors and ceramic pads and it helped but still looking for
having to put less leg pressure into braking the turbo SS.. Especially into heavy cornering. So just would like to know what to expect if I did go with big brakes on front and not doing rear
which I would leave Alpha rear rotor on. -
Looking to upgrade brakes on Slingshot and wonder if any one is using their Kit??
How is braking with just larger brakes in front ?My thoughts are not enough weight on rear for using bigger brakes for street use.
Would like to hear what others have to say on issues??
-
I just want someone to make a offer and come take it all.
-
I am tired of having all these parts hanging around
So everything in pictures plus stock brake rotors
500.00 for all -
I see Assault has a steering wheel for 235.00 that does not need a adapter and suppose to bolt directly to Slingshot.
I know they sell it with D shape and round.
I am thinking round and would like to know what others think of this wheel quality wise. Was thinking quick release but I do not have problems getting in or out and more afraid some one but just remove it.
-
That was not a weird question.
Would have been weird if you had asked what all of us do in our spare time...
And then we would have to post up pics or it didn't happen.
What do you do on your spare time???? Hmmmm 67 yrs old retired and forgot what I wanted to ask..LOL..Have a Gooooood Day
-
That looks great! Whats the width of that rear tire?
SSreaper
It is a 275 35 18 rear tire
-
Here is my fender I made with Welter Duals and have had no issues of hitting.

I know in 2016 my body work was off 2 months after I purchased I had tried 3 body attempts.. The weird shape and size of slingshot makes it hard
to come up with something that really stands out alone.I am pleased with mine but would like to take lower wing off and make narrower front view Made the belt guard to not stand out like plastic did

This is my hand built hood with my fenders.. I Removed the bat wings and if you look where original mirrors were I molded that area smooth with hood covering that also.
