Funny to see this sign Harley Davidson and Rentals this morning...

So yesterday I called a Harley dealer in Seattle that I rented from

and he tells me they do not rent bikes any longer..

I have to rent from Eagle Riders...

Living in NJ and doing 15 years of Harley Davidson Rental Rides out

in the West and come home to NJ and wonder why I ride at times..LOL

The Colorado to Utah ride went 1 whole day and hit 2 red lights.

A NJ ride of 1 hour and hit approx 50 red lights ..and still call it fun..LOL

So at 71 yrs old I wanted to do one more ride down the coast Seattle to San Francisco but having second thoughts

about taking wife and full luggage full dresser at my age...So may just rent convertible.. Old Age creeping up...

I think any seat will mildew / mold with any humidity conditions.. My stock 2016 seats were comfortable and the rubber was great for rainy

conditions but they were ugly and so I bought PRP seats that have clothe / suede and these will get mold rather quick in rainy conditions.

So the bottom part has Velcro and pull out.. So I wrap them in plastic bsags and pull bags over the back of seats for protection..

A pain but for outdoor vehicle driving but you protect seats or replace them more often if mold bothers you.

Well my thoughts after seeing it is they should have taken little more time in detailing it...

I think doors on such a body change and fenders would have given it a more cleaner look..

When I was building my body that was all I saw was it needed doors for that smooth flow ..

But the Camaro look is different...

But even with my body I get lots of thumbs up and horn blowing but car guys really

do not pay attention to it ..just the way it goes..

I am doing the same with interior and making new rounded dash to get rid of the chisel look of stock..

Hopefully next Spring will have it done.

.Getting old things do not go as fast as they did as years ago..LOL

I just installed the Full Blown Big Brake kit and much less effort pushing to stop the turbo slingshot..

After having 2 Vanderhalls and their brakes are superior to Slingshots.

But you do have more confident stopping the Sligshot with the .4 piston calipers ..Not sure how much the larger Rotors add to stopping??

Yep, Logan Pass in Glacier Park is tops on the list as I spent all of my summers there as a kid. Next on the list will be the Beartooth Highway................

    Bill

And if you do Beartooth you have to do Chef Joseph Pass Hwy Rt 296 when you get down to RedLodge and head over ..Amazing views

Coming from NJ and renting Harley's for 15 yrs out West and doing 2 rentals out of Bozeman Mt and going up to Glaicer N.P and then up ito Jasper/Banff N.P B.C ..

All I can say WOW !!!

Some of the most beautiul views in a life time I have seen..

And yes geeting use to some different climates ..LOL

And yes smaller window to ride slingshot but opporunity for Snow Mobiling..Hmmm

Enjoy your new senic Rides after the snow fall next Spring

I have Braum Elite-X series seats, and I bought the fitted seat covers also. I bought the seat belt guides, because I didn't want to thread the belts through the holes. The seat bases are Sparco's. To lift up the front of the seats, I installed spacers between the seat base and the slider, and also between the slider and the bottom of the seats.

One of the reasons I bought aftermarket seats is because the seat bottoms of the factory seats were too short, and I felt like I had no support. I always felt like I was sliding forward, and it was fatiguing because I had to keep repositioning myself. The bottoms of these Braum's are about 2 inches longer, and with the fronts being raised, I am tucked in now.

They look like nice seats and will hold you in in tight cornering ???? Do you think the seat runners from stock seats would work ??? When I redo the dash and interior next year I may look into a set of these..thanks for sharing

They are only toys and people get tired of them and move on to another...

They will not be a vehicle that increases in price to point were wow I have something special..

And like anything you own and they require maintenance and insurance and that adds up

if you do not drive them and they sit..

So what is the vanderhall attraction? I never thought they were nice looking.

More for those who do not want to shift and the doors make the body more sleek looking ..

And really not a bad ride quality ..

But just like chevy or ford what do you want ??? So the person buying has few selections..

I will add since I have owned the slingshot since 2016 and Vanderhall Venice 2017 and purchased a Vanderhall Carmel 2020.

I still own the Slingshot and Vanderahll Carmel..

The Slingshot being 10" inch wider tracking and wider interior feels more sports car riding in it. The steering on Slingshot is

much more desireable for it has more road feel at higher speeds than Vanderhalls that are to senstive .

Almost want to put manual steering. box for higher speed running on Vanderhalls'

I like Vanderhalls in NJ with all the traffic and stop lights but if I go out on long back roads the Slingshot with Alpha Turbo

really shines with curves and more control steering..

But the brakes on Vanderhall are superior to Slingshot and stopping power until I put wildwoods 4 piston on much better stopping on slingshot.

I have been chasing lots of rattles and vibration noises in Vanderhalls and using 3M double sticky tape and pretty close to fixing them.

When I took Slingshot off road to make body and 2 years my wife was pissed but after buying the Carmel with roof that seem

to be her favortite now since Slingshot is back on road with No Roof..

The plastics body panels on both Slingshot and Vanderhall have No Quality with depressions and flaws ..

So when spending this kind of money comes down whet driving style you are going to do.

Crusing I would pick Vanerhall Carmel and hotrodding with turbo I would pick slingshot but with upgraded suspension ,brakes and motor work.

We know it is coming the EV's and makes for good conversation right now....

I just threw it out there and know I would like have electriic knowing right now I do not..

But then I would get one and say what a pain in the ass it is having one..

I just ordered a Kosynier EV bike from Poland beautiful peice but will not receive it until next year

and so this will be my first electric so called vehicle.. I just purchased electric riding mower and works

beautifully but when those batteries go I will regret ownership of it..LOL

Big issue is battery weight since the sling has to stay under 1800lbs. Or has that weight restriction gone away?

Most of my travels are 100 miles round trip and be interesting to see if someone who knows about

electric vehicles what they could come up with for power and distance on even around 2000 lbs and zero emissions.

And I keep thinking I want to own a electric vehicle and wonder if anyone has

thought of making a Electric Slingshot ???

I know at 71 yrs young I am running out of time for these fun vehicles but my heart is still in it..

Like to hear if anyone thinks it is worth a venture ??
