Thank you folks very much. It has been the best birthday ever. Got to spend time with some of my Slingshot family this morning and look at some rare old cars.

Update to an old thread. Went on a five plus hour ride to Clarksville. I have a stock windshield. Once this rack was full of luggage the buffering was horrible. Don't know what happened. I ran it with and without canvas top. At 35mph we had to scream at each other and still couldn't hear. Radio all the way up and we could barely hear it. I even stopped and repositioned the luggage and tried to put it more toward the back of the rack. Yesterday FunCycle and I ran it with no luggage and the buffering was crazy. It has a plexi cover on the front of it and I am going to run it to the carwash this morning without the cover on to see if that helps. Been waiting over a month for my Madstad adjustable windshield from Slingmods but the dark windshield is on back order. I hope its just a bad combination. Time will tell.

I know 123hotdog had mentioned next September, but since we missed this fall, how about doing an early spring event?

    How about it Tim? :)

I would absolutely love to. The only problem is that I am a Landscaper and it is logistically impossible for me to do anything in the spring. Not only that, it rains so so much in these mountains in the spring it makes it difficult to plan any outdoor activities at all. I will tell you this. We are working on next fall right now and I will have an amazing Slingshot photo op at my house during Mayhem in the Mountains2. The op will be so good FunCycle and MACAWS might even break out their "Ole Polaroid One Step" and take a picture or two.

The worst thing about these things is they always end. Met some new friends. Got to see some old ones. Didn't get to see enough of the old ones, that's for sure. Had a great time. Pictures to follow after we get back.

Crappy weather today for sure. Anybody got any indoor activity ideas other than the Wheels Thru Time Museum? We might go over to Asheville today and browse around. We gonna stick it out and try to get a little riding in on Sunday. Gonna check out the Buttery Biscuit this morning. Definitely going to check out a craft brewery place after lunch if anybody has any ideas or one they have been to that they recommend? Would love to hear from some of you folks that have been here before and toughed it out in the rain.

Welcome Greg. The people on this forum are more knowledgeable than Polaris. I am convinced Polaris reads this forum for ideas for upcoming Slingshot builds.

I was a newbie here in 2018 and this group welcomed me with open arms and I have never looked back.

I've said this a bunch of times and I will keep saying it.

As much fun as driving the Slingshot is, the people on this forum is what really makes the Slingshot experience what it is. You'll see.

Looks like there’s a break in the weather... finishing up a few things and going to attempt the ride. Should arrive by 1pm.

Awesome. Denise is on her way home. I'm already locked and loaded. Gonna try to have dinner somewhere around 7. Bullshit and ThomaSS are on there way in as well. We should be in around 4. I not booking till I get there. I hear there is plenty of vacancy. Anybody wanna chime in on this?

Haven’t left yet (got stuck working), I was planning to head up tomorrow night, but looking at the forecast, I’m not sure sure. My rear wheel only has enough tread for dry weather shenanigans... but not the wet stuff. I’ll try and find a break in the weather to ride there, but may have to pull the plug this year. ;(

I am in the same boat. I only have 6,000 miles on my back tire and I refuse to change it before 10. May come over tomorrow in the little woman's taxi cab tomorrow just to see the vendors and good friends. Probably run home and get Sling when weather breaks.
