I have an old set of double bubbles, I messed up spraying on tint. wanted to use them to practice cutting them down some, so any body with experience on cutting this type of material. what would be the best tool to use.

I use a Bosch jig saw with the finest toothed blade you can find (blades 'for metal' work well.)

Put blue masking tape over the cut line, mark on the tape. Do NOT cut too fast or with blade on high speed (hot blade can melt plastic making a sloppy edge.)

I usually cut in a bit from the opposite side rather than cutting all the way across. Be sure the plastic is well supported. After cutting, remove tape, sand and bevel edges with a dremel & fine sanding wheel (very light pressure!) Continue to smooth edges with 600, 1000, 2000 grit paper. Buff edges with dremel and buffing wheel.

I know its a long process, but the results will be worth it!

Went out to see a couple of my painting costumers....beautiful day in Northern Indiana for a Slingshot ride. Also the time of year that the 'black walnuts' are falling from the trees --- lots of black walnut trees along the road way. For those who don't know a black walnut with the husk as it drops from the trees is about the size of a tennis ball and probably weighs about 8oz. 60 mph on a beautiful county road and one caught me just above the pocket of my shirt. Glad it hit there --- 6 in to the right and would have caught me in the face and the Slingshot might have been up the next tree. Woke me up ... caught a acorn falling from an Oak on the fore head a couple of years ago. Keep eyes open for the types of trees in your riding area.

    Beautiful day for riding.

Sorry your company isn't in my neck of the woods.

Went to SWP to pick colors for the house. Price of getting the big house painted is eye watering - handing that check to a pal would make it sting a bit less...

Still, the house hasn't been painted since it was built in '04 - really needs it! We want our place to look kinda like this....

This is how it looks now. Kinda sad. The previous owner picked ONE color, covered the place inside & out, every room with this off white - except the doors which got painted refrigerator white. 🙄

Navy has a new backpack that allows sailors & Marines to carry 650 rounds! Backpack weighs 9 lbs (unloaded).

Now if the deer or armadillos start shooting back, you got this.

Also pretty good if you have a home invasion, I suppose. 🤠

I think this is probably my next mod. I have a heavy Sparco shift knob... I may try that before buying a new one.

I like the look of the 1320 knob, but not the logo. Also wonder about using a longer knob on a short shifter - does it defeat the purpose?

Find a way to seal up the holes around the pedals and you will see a major difference in the heat. On my Sling I the pedals are sealed off but on Sling II I have not taken the time to seal them. Sling I is like riding with AC compared to the heat on the 2016 Sling II

Sounds good... what did you use to do this?

Just thinking that you would have to get something flexible to seal & deal with pedal movement?

Any photos from members who have done this would be great!

Welcome to the tribe, RobD !

Lots of great info here - remember that the search bar is your friend!

Definitely plan to go to a get together if you can!

I've had this setup on Ruby for a couple months now. Great sound, engine breathes beautifully.

Can't say I've *never* smelled fumes, but very rarely and not overwhelming when I do. Depends on the wind, etc.

The only disadvantages I've noticed so far are that I get a bit more heat coming up through the transmission tunnel (I do not have a heat kit installed). This has only been an issue in hot weather. Today's 150 mile ride in mid-60's and didn't notice it at all. If you are getting this and ride in warm weather, you may seriously want to consider getting a heat kit installed prior. (Or maybe Kyle will consider offering a wrapped exhaust... Ruby can be your test platform!)

The only other issue is that the rear exhaust does make it more difficult to drain & refill the oil on the angle drive. But then, I would think any rear exit kit would do the same.

Happy to take any prospective buyer for a ride! 8)

The Captain & I rode with a group from Bentonville to Wiederkhar Village (pop. 46) as part of the Eureka Springs rally. Great ride along route 12, through Huntsville (the land of the Lost!), and then down the whole length of the Pig Trail!

Wiederkhar Winery & restaurant was awesome (although the seating left something to be desired!)

    Great day, great ride!
