    • @Publius did it really look like that at 5k - damn. What brand fluid do you use?

Yeah, it was really that bad! Others have reported this previously and I've been meaning to do it for sometime even though the manual says it isn't needed until 50,000 miles. That's a lot of metal filings in there. I would say for a few bucks, everyone should do it. I used Royal Purple 75w-140. Others have reported it also helps quiet the noise from the Angle Drive too.

You guys are crazy! I bought this thing saying I was not going to spend any money on mods and enjoy it for a couple of years, then sell it. Well, that didn't work out so well. But I didn't go crazy like you guys. The only thing I have left to buy is new shocks. Just waiting for a sale - I always feel better spending money on "needless toys" if I get a deal. ;(

But today, we ride! 83 and mostly Sunny!

I did a 5k oil and filter change today. I finally got around to changing the oil in the Angle Drive. If you haven't yet, I strongly suggest you do. There was 1/4 inch of sludge on the magnet drain plug.

@Tripod..weird I posted it this afternoon @ draft never went through..I just refreshed & bam there it is...How did you get that anyway???

I'm going to guess he grabbed it off the other Forum. I saw it there from a poster I didn't recognize his name. Think he was a new poster.

Up above a few posts are pictures of the header and exhaus before they were installed. Further up is a picture of the new seats. Here is a picture of header and exhaust installed.

I put my Velocity Sport seats in this past weekend and took off the exhaust and manifold for ceramic coating. I'm picking them up tomorrow but they sent me pictures. Look pretty good. Next up is the tune. Getting her all ready for spring.

Installed the newly ceramic coated header and exhaust yesterday. ECM was put in the mail today on its way to OBD Diagnostics for a new tune. Next up Bilstein shocks (waiting for sale) then I'm done!

I don't know what to say about cleaning. The ceramic is supposed to keep it cooler. But with such a long run on your rear exit I don't know how hot it will get. I got mine coated because the stainless became discolored due to the heat. That won't happen with the powder coating.

Drove down to the dealer for my recalls this morning. Temp was 45 degrees - a brisk30 minute drive. Four hours later all work was done and I was driving it home and the ride was a comfortable 55 degrees. It felt really nice to be behind the wheel after such a long winter break. Now I need some time to put in the new SLR seats I bought. Then I'm gonna have the exhaust and manifold ceramic coated and get the ECM tune. Then riding season can begin!

Mine is going in on Monday for the recall. Plan to drive it there and back provided there is no rain. Salt should be washed away on Saturday. After that, I'm pulling he exhaust and manifold and sending them out for ceramic coating.

Have any of you CT boys gotten your recalls done yet. I just got a call from the dealer, my parts are in. I guess I'm gonna have to wake my girl up a little early from hibernation.

@RuneRider Sorry for your loose, hope you get it back in one piece. I use this below on my rear tire and a Viper Alarm System.... works for me...

That really sucks. Always been my fear with my Harley but never the SS. I guess I know better now. Hope you get it back in one piece. I imagine in Jersey there are quite a few and it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

I have one of these, new never opened, in original packaging. That's where it will stay until I sell it on eBay. They would work great in your driveway but honestly, I don't see much use elsewhere.

Yes, it is tight. About 2 inches or less of clearance on each side. I thought about getting a nylon strip to put on the side to keep from messing up the wheels if I got too close. Just haven't found anything yet. I didn't want to get an extended ramp because I hear the weight makes it difficult for one person to handle so I wound up getting the race ramps which are super light and work great. See picture. My goal was to have a dual purpose trailer so that was another reason for going with the tandem axle with 5k capacity.

One other thing I would add that you should consider if you are purchasing a trailer - brakes! Mine has electric brakes which work great. All tandem axle trailers will have brakes because of their tow capacity. But if you go with a single axle you may not have brakes since the tow capacity is like 1750lbs. In all you are towing something like 3000 lbs. If you don't have a full size pick up you are really going to feel that trailer behind you if it is brakeless. I used to tow my 3000 Lbs boat and trailer with no brakes using a GMC Acadia and man stopping wasn't fun.

So 7x14 fits? Is the width really tight? What if you have non-oem wheels?

    Thanks for that share @Publius!
