Here's some info straight from the Federal Trade Commision:

    https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/a…181-unordered-merchandise

    Q. Am I obligated to return or pay for merchandise I never ordered?

    A. No. If you receive merchandise that you didn’t order, you have a legal right to keep it as a free gift.

    Q. Must I notify the seller if I keep unordered merchandise without paying for it?

    A. Although you have no legal obligation to notify the seller, you may write the seller and offer to return the merchadise, provided the seller pays for shipping and handling.

If you want to know why Harley won't rebound, just look at the cost of their bikes. Who wants to spend $30-40K on a motorcycle when ANY competing brand is 1/2 that! It also goes to how much things cost relative to income. Here's a little chart I put together that shows how much of the average wage items costs, either in months or years worth of salary. An AVERAGE car has went from 4.4 months of salary to 8.5 months - almost DOUBLE. An AVERAGE home has went from 2.5 yrs of salary to 6.5 yrs - almost TRIPLE. (This data came straight from The Peoples History.com.) Until Harley can start selling bikes back in a competitive prices as every one else (notice I didn't say same or less than), they will only be able to be purchased by the very exclusive few.

And Yes, I've owned a Harley. But I've owned a lot more Yamaha's, Honda's, and Victory's - because of the price value issue.

Finally some good weather coming Friday and Saturday we ride the sisters. Been raining all week no time for nothing. We will ride Saturday, maybe eat at the Bent Rim Grill . I just have to say gonna be in the 80’s so out we go.

    JUST SAYIN

ARGH! I've been waiting to ride that with y'all. But I've got plans this weekend! Going to be down in Plantersville @ TRF (not in SS). Let me know when that's happening again.

2008 Victory Vegas. Was going to trade it in on the SlingShot but they were offering SHXX in trade in value. I ended up selling the Victory, but then caught caught in the price increase from 2015 to 2016 so I really didn't net anything.

I've had so many bikes going back to a 1982 Honda I really can't even remember them all: A Honda, a couple Yamaha VStars, 1 Harley Sportster (that I bobbed out), a whole bunch of dirt bikes, ATVs and quads. I rode into my 20's, stayed off the steet bikes due to family in my 30s, got back into them in my 40s, and now I'm . . . . well, beyond that.

Same here. Under $500 like the ones I posted before. Capabilities to use the stock plastic lower covers now (even if they had to be modified). Painted or raw is fine with me - I would probably paint them Red anyways. I always thought the height of the stock roll bars was too high - lower it to be closer in height to the tail fin.

Heck, you could almost take the other aftermarket roll bars and just modify the design to run a full bar across to connect the two and then capabilities to have harness and/or cover mounts.

I like the look of the main roll top just to replace the existing ugly stock roll hoops. Don't care for the extended triangulated bars to the rear deck as that would require allot more cutting. Options to mount 4pts harnesses would be awesome - I have mine just mounted into the stock roll bar bolts under the rear cowling. Maybe just triangulate across from driver side to passenger side so that you can use the stock mounting locations and hole as much as possible. Something like this or this:

90* yesterday... 45* today and the cold rain is coming down sideways.

Texas weather sure is bi-polar this year.

I was just going to post the same thing.

    50+ days over 100 degrees.
Then 6+ weeks of rain almost every day.

The other day, they said the lake was going to go up about 2 feet due to the rain. It went up 6!

I had something like this happen just last weekend. No video, but 2W2X1, MIM, and a couple others saw it happen on our Luckenbach ride. We had just come over the river crossing and all the tires were wet. I thought they had dried off enough but about 1/8th of a mile past, I was accelerating and came over a small rise in the road and went squirrelly just like you did. Little steer to the right and everything was fine, but I'm wondering if it was the traction control that kicked in unexpectedly?

take it back out, grab the large nylon sleeve and hold it while rotating the shifter vigorously. Greese it liberally ;( very) and reinstall.

Thanks. I'll try that again. It was liberally greased when I installed it and still had lots of grease when I re-installed. But this seems like it's catching on something. There is a definite "bump" that I'm having to get over every shift.

Meet up with your SATX folks and decide from there. You've got a decent ride from SATX to JesterKing which is your furthest point. And then you can decide if you want to stay or go. On the way from JKB to Luckenbach, we'll be crossing over 281 again so you can always just turn back. I figure this will be a total of about 4 hr ride and even if you do everything, we'll be back in Blanco by about 2.

So, put on the DDM short shifter just before going to SSITO. Heck, the first time I drove it after was to load it in the trailer. While at SSITO, I noticed that it was REALLY hard to shift into each gear, something that did not happen with the stock shifter. Brought it home, disassembled and re-assembled, but still the same. It feels like it's hitting a catch or detent on going into and out of every gear. Going out of first to neutral: Detent. Neutral to 2nd: Detent, 2nd to Neutral: Detent, Neutral to 3rd: Detent. You get the idea. Is that normal? Did I do something wrong? I double checked all the pins and slot locations and everything looks okay. The bottom cup is straight into the tranny. What else could be wrong? It's hard enough that I'm about to go back to the stock shifter (and have to open the glove box every time I go to 5th).
