Subframe installed

Front springs pulled and coated. Then reinstalled and brake lines connected.
Front mudflap fenders removed. -
Front end installed.
-
Front A-arms coated and front brakes are built.

Probably should have started with these. Pulled the rear JRI hydraulic shock and capped the line on the pump.

Subframe gets some powder.

Test fit. Bob did say it was the best fitting subframe he has built yet.

Hi everyone, Bob is about 99% done with my build so I thought I would post the pictures he sent of the process. It's heading up to DDM on Thursday for the turbo install along with a few other goodies and then I will finally be able to drive it again.
First few photos are of the sub frame. The welds are apot on, just look at that penetration.

Welcome @Kyle D and ZZ Performance. I live in the Grand Rapids Area and have heard nothing but great things about ZZ. Can't wait to see what your team comes up with.
-
I'm in @pigmanfu this is next level. Nice work.

Very sorry you are going through this @Bill Martin, you will be in my thoughts. I wish you a swift recovery.

So my wheels finally shipped. It's been a trying week. Here is the story:. Going to a quad set up I had to purchase an additional wheel and get it painted to match. Unfortunately the wheels I had on it we're discontinued. $2500 down the drain.
So I ordered a set of Savini BM15 wheels which I really liked. The wheels are drilled and milled to order and was told they would ship within 2 weeks. I went with +50 offset in the rear. I want the rear track width to be as narrow as possible without going to a custom built wheel. 3 weeks later I called the vendor and was told the wheels I ordered couldn't be machined down to +50 and the highest offset they could do was +28. Needless to say I wasn't happy. So I switched to a new wheel that was in stock and on the shelf ready to ship. The wheel I chose was the Verde Insignia in Satin black. This change saved me $1000 as well so that was a bonus. This all happened on Monday and I was told the new wheels would ship within 48 hours. Friday rolled around and still no shipment notification. So I called again and then finally received a shipment notification.
I went with 20x9 +35 offset in the front and 20x11 +52 offset in the rear. I think these wheels will make the Wilwood, 12.1 in, big brake kit look massive, which is cool.
@Bob Runman has been waiting on these wheels for a few weeks to finish up the build and finally we have a shipment going his way. It's almost July and I'm really missing my SS. The season in Michigan is short but I think I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, at least on this part of the build.
Dave at DDM works is still waiting on his shipment of turbos from Borg Warner for the second part of this build.
Sorry for the rant, just frustrated and the wife doesn't really want to hear me complain about "car stuff" anymore.
Wish me luck,
-Slingless in Grand Rapids
*Photos attached are of my original wheels, which will be for sale if anyone is interested
-
Hahaha exactly
-
You haven't seen anything yet.... It gets down right bitchy here sometimes...
@rabtech did you upgrade your BOV on the DDM kit? If so what are you running? I read somewhere that the stock BOV may be worth upgrading.
-
welcome @SlingDrop will you be selling any old equipment that you won’t be needing since you’re going turbo?
I might have some stuff to sell, not quite sure as of now.
-
This has turned into quite the thread. Thanks for the laughs.
-
Hahaha what about the lag it takes you to cross the finish line after us "turbo" guys.

I will have paddles in a few weeks. They have to be programmed into the the transmission computer. Dave has to also extend my shift linkage so that it will reach 1st and 2nd and then also reprogram the electronic shift box.
When we installed it originally we were just needing P, R, N, D. With the paddles you need the linkage to be able to reach all the gears.
@rabtech what transmission are you running? Will you have the option to go full auto and manual/sport shift?

@studiopeg sooo slick, nice work!
