@Ruptured Duck
I aapplaud you for taking on a DIY project like this one. These types of experiments benefit everyone so not trying to say its a waste of time and effort at all. -
I have yet heard a muffler that I like enough for the money being asked.
Realize $700 is not cheap and cost/benefit is different for everyone but have you heard the Alpha variable? Sound with it closed is deeper and better than stock and even quieter for long trips when you would rather hear the radio or the person next to you. When I took it into the dealer everyone in the service department thought it was the best sounding sling they have in the shop to date. Then when I opened it up their jaws all hit the floor.......

To each his own but sometimes you just look at something and say WTF. Not every option or aftermarket accessory has to have a specific function or purpose but we all know immediately what people think of certain vehicles (and their owners) with modifications that eventually reflect negatively on everyone that drives or owns said vehicles.
I would consider it one friend doing another friend a solid when offering constructive feedback like - Dude - you look ridiculous with that shit on your face....... That's not being mean at all. Just one bud doing a kindness for another bud .....
But then I never really understand a lot of fads like skinny jeans or even worse - baggy jeans with ass crack or underwear hanging out. That is unless its a hot female sporting them.

I've stopped watching the "news" for awhile now. Makes life much more enjoyable. Everyone should try it....

I heard the Donald recommends this oil. I tried it but now cannot get it off of my seat. Anyone know of some good oil remover?
-
Yes, was actually posting that question up as some smartassery...

Anybody know which oil works best in the Slingshot?????

When we still had a Costco membership a couple years ago I shopped a few models of cars we were looking at. I got my best price negotiating with the dealer not from Costco's discount program. So unless something has changed this might be a convenient way for some people to buy their vehicles and avoid negotiations but I have yet to find a "wholesale" club price that would beat dealing directly with a dealer. This includes the so-called "employee discount" programs offered many times.
In fact, at one dealer of a particular model I was shopping at the time the sales manager said he would gladly sell me the vehicle at the higher negotiated Costco price.

Is Bullet Speed currently manufacturing and shipping their Slingarm solution? It's not listed on their website.

Realize the parts are less than a grand but how much is parts and labor which would be covered under the extended warranty? Rear axle bearing is not something I am ever going to tackle myself but almost sure it will be dead within 5 years of ownership.
I personally would rather spend the grand on a better aftermarket fix because at least there's a fighting chance at having a more permanent solution to a known poor design but nothing readily available yet short of going quad conversion.
-
Anyone know what the actual cost is to have the dealer replace the axle bearings? This known failure alone might be worth having the extended warranty coverage for at least until a viable aftermarket fix is available for them.
-
Not a fan of paying anymore than I have to for something that gets changed before its ever really worn out anyway.

Man, now this thread just wants to make me go out and inspect the wheel bearings on all of my trailers....

Nice pic. Definitely convinced that a supercharger is the way to go for power add but I like my current exhaust way too much to give it up for this one. Definitely like that there are options and great one's at that...

Is it just me or does that thing look unusually thin in a couple of spots where there is stress. Also wonder if that one area is a weak spot in the casting.
-
I wonder if Polaris will warranty that one or just tell that owner its normal wear and tear.....

Not a fan of the rev-matching "feature" either. Was hoping to get mine updated at the dealer last Friday but they said there was no TSB or ECU update for mine. Might be time to check with another dealer here but they are few and far between. Most are weeks out on service appointments as well.... Lot's of broken toys everywhere I guess...

Great to hear you are feeling better Bill. Wishing you well and hope you can quickly put this one in the rear view mirror!
