I sent the check in for the early bird, but have not gotten a confirmation about the tickets. I guess I can go to the checking account to make sure the check was cleared.
-
not that I am much help but willing to give it a shot. with the wrench day. doing some home repair right now. just let me know and I will see if I can get over that way.
-
we will definitely be there for the dinner Friday, my wife and 3 kids and myself. for the brunch I need to check in with the boss and will try to get you an answer by this evening.
-
well I am dropping them today. I got an awesome quote from AllState. so I am going to go with them and hope all turns out well.
-
I will go check that out. a thousand is ridiculous to me. . . . .

Progressive is charging around $90 a month. so a little over $1K a year.
-
so who uses which insurance and which is the best / cheapest to use? I am with progressive right now and I think they are way too expensive.

Thanks to @kev and @mytoy we have 2 great gifts to give away at the welcome dinner.
Sounds Awesome, as for the Ride prior to dinner, we are not leaving Lorton until Noon, so we probably wont make the ride. We should be at the hotel around 5 or in close proximity. So it might even be tight making the 6 o'clock dinner time. I think that is when the flyer stated. But we will be there nonetheless.

Well done!!
Thank you. I am liking it so far, but driving it for the first time with the top was different, it was a little less of the open air view lol.

Ok so here is the pic of the installed slingshade. the one that was supposed to take a professional 2 hours and cost $308 just to install. lol. wow.
-
noise, wind, rain, heat, cold, floorboard heat (floor mat fixed that), lack of storage
well mine has not been out in all of that except the cold so we have not crossed those bridges just yet. in due time. . . . . . . . . . . but it only took one or two trips to get the exhaust thing.

Don't loose hope and don't take drastic measures until talking with others on this forum. I am a new kid on the block here so there are many others better equipped to assist you than I. They have done about everything that can be done so the chance of you or I coming up with something they have not already mastered is slim to none. Reach out, they will respond.
thanks for the help, it gives me some perspective and a way to go. Home Depot is actually my second home so I will stop by and look at getting the lexan. I have all of the carpenter tools that anyone could ask for, well minus my lathe I just sold that. but otherwise I have them all. Might even try to find out how I can light up the restrictor and use window etching and make some cool designs while I am at it lol.
-
true, only time will tell. just going to have to see how bad it really is and make a few test runs lol.
-
ugh, well if that is the case then this thing just might get taken off. my wife has already stated several times that she DOES NOT like the exhaust smell already. At first I was trying to blame vehicles in front of us stating it was them and not our own. Due to being low to the ground and in direct fire of the exhaust of the cars in front of us. But after having driven it for a little bit now, I know it is my own exhaust and I guess I will be forced to deal with this issue sooner than later. when it rains it pours huh?
-
oh wow, well I just installed it last night, it hasn't even been out doors let alone on the road to see if it is going to do anything like make noise. I hope that isn't the case. if it starts whistling I might just take it off without having to consult my wife lol. I have the tall windshield myself. It does look a little strange as it comes near the top of the roof line but stands forward of it. I also hope that it doesn't pull exhaust back into the cabin, but then again if it does, that gives me reason enough to get the exhaust ran out the back of the slingshot. hmmmmm (insert evil laugh here) lol.
-
OH hey @Ghost what kind of issues are you talking about? My wife said after I was done installing it and she went to sit in it, that she thought that it took the fun factor out of the slingshot. now she doesn't have that open air feeling. Even to the point that she said we will go out for a ride in it and if she doesn't like it that I will have to take it off. lol.

@Hernandeves5 My wife and I installed ours the other day. Not a big deal at all but not something you want to do without someone to help you handle it. Obviously it isn't heavy but you don't want to scratch any paint either. We like the top so far but it did bring on other issues that we are still dealing with. Time will tell.
It only took me about 2 1/2 hours last night but I installed it myself. my wife helped to lift it over and set onto the brackets. but once that was done she left. I might have to go back and make a couple of little shifting adjustments but otherwise it went in extremely easy. No drilling or anything, it was almost like plug n play or some IKEA furniture lol. I truly appreciate everybody's offer to help out. I had never done that before and thought it might have been harder than it actually was. lol I will try to get some pictures this evening and post them. I have a couple that I took but they aren't public view worthy lol. they show my messy garage.
-
that is what I am trying to verify, for the first and foremost, there are zero holes to drill, its just bolt together. I have watched a few youtube videos and have not seen 1 that drilled anything.

Ok I am in a little bit of a dilemma here and want some opinions. I bought the slingshade roof from Polaris and am having my slingshot serviced Saturday. The roof is already at the store for pickup and I asked them how much it would cost to have them install it versus me doing it myself. They are quoting me $308 dollars JUST TO INSTALL this thing. Now I am not the best mechanic, but damn!!!! Should I install it myself? think it would be too difficult to do alone? or should I go ahead and fork out the $308 and let them do it?
