so the next question that I have for you would be this, is it best to keep the offset? such as now it has 17 front 18 rear, and SL model has 18 front 20 rear, and I saw one person has 20 front 22 rear? or is 20 all around ok to stick with? the next thing that I am trying to find out, my 17s in the front are 17x7 and 18x9.5. but all of the 20s that I have found so far are more like 10.5s that is too wide for the front isn't it? I need to go with 20x?????

Polaris Slingshot 20/22" Wheels and Tires Package #3
I found these but it is still 1800 and the tires are 69 each if you go to discount tire so that means they are charging 1700 for just the rims. is this a deal?

well as you may feel that way lol, its true. no need for fabrication just have to hit the highway at different times than your normal routine and you will see the difference. Personally I HATE the traffic here and have had to find my way around without going into a hissy fit. alternating times to go places has been the easiest solution. when its time to get off work, DO NOT go on the highway. better wait.

Pics or it didn't happen
well it is usually my minivan that I am running and going that fast. since you all had to ask lol. I never use GoPro in the van, but I guess I need to start? lol
-
yeap, I am always running with a group of cars that is going that fast or faster. not sure what time you get out there but traffic is never less than 70 except during congested times like going to and from work or at certain points along the road like at the Occoquan area or near Potomac mills mall and then quantico. other than that, 70+

ha ha ha, well my family does carpentry for a living and I know what a kitchen runs, minimum $10K and I am not allowed to drop that kind of money on beastboy. so I guess I am running dry on both fronts lol. by the way, what is mitch running for suspension?
-
ugh you guys are killing my wallet lol
-
yeap. but on 95 regular traffic flow is 80 so stepping up to 90 and 100 is easy and then drop back down.......

I have 20's all around and the sling handles great... That said, they are heavier and I do have some steering/suspension upgrades that help out greatly in the twists.
awesome, thanks. I am looking at doing the sway bar and end links soon. I'm not too keen on paying the almost $4K for tires and rims though. But I am not happy with the smaller tires. and soon turbo, I think I have to have it now. its a must have lol.

By the way, on the way home from Clarksville a Sling passed me on 58 between South Boston and Danville doing at least 100 MPH! Anyone want to "fess up?"
I was driving that fast the majority of the way home, but you left way before me lol. I went 58, to 85, to 95.

Hey question for you all . . . . I am wanting to upgrade my tires. Right now I am running the stock 17 base models tires and rims (Suck) I want to put the bigger rims and tires on it. I have seen that some people have put 20's all around, but yet if you look at the SL and SLR aren't they 18 front and 20 rear? is it ok to put 20s' up front? advised? what would that do to handling? I think for rotational purposes it would be great, I have not seen that the slingshot is using a uni-directional tread pattern. Still in slingshot infancy don't slam me here lol.

My wife Kim and I would like to echo the thanks and appreciation to Mitch and Colette. We had a great time and enjoyed the dinner and wine tasting event. It was a great pleasure to meet everyone and share in the experience and see everyone's slings. Now I have some goals to go after lol. Knowing the different things to start adding and which order to do it in. The ride home was so much quicker it seemed. We got a little wet coming out of clarkesville but it was from what was already on the road. Stopped in Richmond for some coffee, lunch and gas and then continued on. It sprinkled a little bit but nothing more. Got home around 1240 and unloaded the van. As soon as we got inside and started to unwind, Mother Nature let loose lol. made it just in time. And a big thanks for everything.

4 hrs in the pouring rain
well like I said I have not popped the rain cherry yet in the slingshot. I used to ride 2 wheels all the time in the rain. I have had a few people tell me so far that the slingshot cant handle the rain and that it loses control way too easily, so that implanted hesitation, not fear lol. we are coming and will be driving home on sunday come hell or high water.
-
latest weather from weather dot com and weather dot org are Friday and Saturday zero rain and 80 degrees as a high. but sunday that is a different story. its going to be a high of 75 degrees and 80% chance of rain so the ride home is going to be a wet one. wondering if the ride home is worth the trip down? have not had the real rain cherry popped yet. lol
-
Might have fewer slingshots than that. Right now, I am getting snow flurries. Weird
I sure hope not, that isn't what I am reading lol
