oops failed to mention that my steering wheel has gotten off from center a little over time slightly to the right and I can notice some movement up and down in the steering shaft. is there any way to bypass all these nanny controls , hell im 48 years old and cant figure out how we all used to live without this stuff on vehicles. I have a old 83 truck with a blown 347 stroker in it and you have to turn the steering wheel about half a round just to drive it and I can keep on the road, to be sure I can drive the shot without them

@rabtech you said rear bearing how do I check for this? about an hour before my son drove it I was on a real rough road with a lot of bumps and pot holes in it, it has also got to where I hear something rattle in the rear when I hit a terrible spot in the road. I always put it to be the belt slapping on the frame or the shock. I have the belt set loose , probably 1/2" or a little more.

ok I got a 2017 sl bone stock today my son went for a ride and when he pulled out of the driveway the esp light (car with squiggly lines, in line with 2000 rpm) came on and went off. after about 10 minutes it came back on and stayed on the whole ride until he got it home and shut it off. I took it for a 10 minute ride and had no problems. I have been doing alot of reading about this and cant get a grip on what it might be. the only mods are quick release stering wheel and bullet speed top.

I have been wondering if anyone has used a taller sidewall tire on the rear of an sl for a smoother ride, if so what did you use and did the nany kick in

I am not wild about the overall location, but that is awesomely creative.

thanks @Br4hm4 , and you are right about the location it is further back than it looks in the picture but not quite far enough. now that I have the top on the sling I want to make some brackets to move it out more, just havent took the time to do it yet. it is smoking hot here in north carolina now so it will have to wait a little while

well thanks to our shitty power supplier as usual on alot of real hot or cold days the lights will flicker 3 or 4 times in the county for what ever reason , so I just got back in the house from having to replace a capacitor on the ac unit . oh well I guess it could have been worse

called the dealer yesturday to have mine checked because of the 1/16 to 1/8 inch of play that I have, supposed to carry it tuesday. today I was at another dealer and both 2018's they had in the show room with no miles on them has the same amount of play that I have, go figure?

just went out and checked mine, on the right passender rod I could move it maybe a 1/16th to 1/8th inch and the left driver side rod was tight , what do you guys think? my ss is a 2017 sl with 2600 miles on it

here where I live there is a lot of farming activity and the roads this time of year have dirt splatterd all over them from the tractors moving from one field to another, and im having a hell of a time trying to keep the sling clean in the back. this past thursday I was following my son who was driving my sling and when he would hit a dusty spot the air from under the sling would twril the dirt up from the road and swril it to the middle of the back rim, looked just like a wave does in the ocean. I was amazed that I could actualy see it.

even though I dont need tires for the sling yet this is good reading and info for me. as far as asy. or sym. traed pattern I cant physicaly see a problem there but then again I am one of the people who runs a car tire on the rear of their motorcycle (2 wheeled one) and you know what they say about that.

a tar snake is what they fill the cracks in the road with, its a big waste of money. they actualy have a crew walk along the road with a large air compressor blowing out the dirt from the crack then fill it with tar. the bad thing about this is even more waste of money is coming because they then put down tar with sand and pea sized rocks on top and then let the public drive on it to pack it down. after its packed they brush off the excess and call it done, I call it bull shit.
