@pricejh61, I forget, what intercom system are you using?

I put my Senas on right over the earplugs, and have no problems hearing the intercom. The earplugs are mostly to block the annoying pitches and frequencies, not lower the overall decibels dramatically.

We have an old set of Bluetooth that I got about five years ago. Nancy had a hard time getting the VOX to activate. She speaks too softly. Plus, I think that the earphones aren’t positioned quite right.

I have a Sena S20 in my convertible HJC. Love it. Just got to try it out today. Trying to get the phone to play thru the Sena is occasionally problematic. The SS audio takes command of the phone and I loose connectivity. Think I need to pare the Sena as driver headset then it might feed everything thru the audio and into the Sena. What think?

We are also looking to purchase a Twist Dynamics Full Wing Roof or a Twist Dynamics Stinger Roof in the near future. Not sure which will be easier for my wife to get in and out of the slingshot.

It the CoverMat good enough for indoor storage or is there something else out there that will provide more protection with more padding or material thickness?

The CoverMax is pretty heavy fabric. T has a soft cotton feel on the inside and is tough canvas texture on the outside. I do not have a garage so the cover is the primary protection. For garage storage you may be able to find a lighter cover.

I am not familiar with the uptone system, in fact this thread is the first I have heard of it, but that said you are hitting more than 20db higher than what I am getting with the stock system at idle in my driveway - thats a fair bit louder

question - does that sling of yours have a hard top?

Yep, it has a Twist Gull Wing top.

The Uptone system was only produced for a short time. I think in 2016. Way before I became interested in Slings.

Interesting, I have never measured the sound levels in my sling. I do have an app for that on my phone so I think I will see what it says on my way home in a few minutes. My sling has the stock exhaust so I am interested to see how that compares to your numbers. I think I will just put the phone in its mount on the windshield support. Just out of curiosity where did you have your SLM?

As a side note I use a 1/2 helmet most of the time and have never been bothered by the sound - can even hear the radio most of the time unless I am on the freeway

The measurements were taken from the passenger side. I’m too busy to read the SLM while I’m driving.

I’m using two SLM apps on my iPhone. Both are close to each other. I compared them to a professional SLM at work a while back and they were within 2dB of the standard. So, I think it is pretty accurate.

Loving me some Sling. Not so much the noise.

On the ride from NM to Tennessee I thought it was a little loud. And the drone at 80 was a little much as well.

Miss Nancy says it isn’t bad to her ear.

Well, I hauled out my trusty SLM this afternoon to see just how loud it is.

My exhaust is an Uptone (one of the original 25 produced). It dumps to the ground right in front of the passenger.

    Idle is about 95 dB.
Cruise at 50-60 is about 100.
Full throttle measured out at 104 to 105 dB.

No wonder my ears were ringing at the end of the day. Gotta do something about this. Wonder how much good running the exhaust pipe out the side would do. Or should I just scrap it and go with a Welter rear exhaust?

    Lookin’ for ideas gang!

Do you think there is enough material for that cover to fit over the rear wing?
From that shot of the back it looks like there is a lot of extra room?

Have to agree with Maverick, don’t think it would fit. The taper is pretty sharp aft of the hoops. I can’t get it over my flags at the back. Ordered folding poles to replace the ones that Larry had installed. Hope it works, or else the flags might have to go. (Bummer).

I went on a 2000 mile ride and wore a full face helmet with dark tint pull down shield to cover my eyes on that trip. When I got there my face looked like death warmed over. Sunburned face, cracked lips, etc. I think this top would be a much better option for me on the sling. Near got scalped by a barber the other day and when I went on my ride today I took off my hat and boy did it feel cooler on my head. With a top I could probably ditch the hat.

A top was a requirement for me. I’ve had 4 Mohs procedures on my face over the past ten years. Spent too many summers and winters in the sun as a life guard and/or Crew Chief.

I have the Sena duel set....I have installed one set in my helmet.....I bought them the end of last year....the sticky stuff holding the ear pieces and microphone fell off already...

I’m not impressed with the sticky pads....so has anyone else had this happen and if so do you have a good fix that will last? I’m thinking super glue at this point..

Go to Home Depot/Lowe’s and get some high adhesion double sided tape from 3M.

I am not known to questions another Singer's honesty, but you are going to have to offer up some more evidence of your trip. It was my understanding @Tripod's Nuclear Orange Sling was not capable of being East of the Mississippi. At least that is what he led us to believe.

    Proof positive...

Nuc ‘em resting comfortably in my driveway in East Tennessee. See ya’ at Maggie in a few days.
