Central Florida SS owners going to Bike Week 2019 chime in.

Anyone interested in going for a day trip not organized by the local shops?

Either I have missed or not noticed any member rides being organized locally.

    Tom.

A friend of mine said she bought a new slingshot...and was sending a picture of it.

Took me a while but I finally found it.

Living here in Fl. helmets are not required. The main reasons I use one while driving the SS

Noise. Drowns out a lot of the rear end and road noise. Allows me to act like I can't hear. Nag, nag, nag. My significantly others nick name is "3 horses"

Glasses. No more replacing or searching for clear or tinted "sun glasses" This includes scratches, cases etc.

    Rain. Wind. Road debris.

I got the helmet shown in pic for about $80. Not nearly DOT but it fits well. Light weight. Comfy.

Covered up the star with a RCAF sticker.

Check your transmission cross bar to see if it's missing any fasteners. Could also be an interior bolt that finally found its way to a hole. Weigh the vehicle to see

if it is actually a SS part or from your lawn mower.

Passed by a white slingshot last Saturday west bound, east of Deland Fl. on SR 44. Hottie driving no passenger. Drive mine daily to work Deltona to Deland. Sometimes see a few out on weekends. Heh Ya'll.

My SS RAD got much quieter after installing a rear exit exhaust system and started wearing a 3/4 helmet. My dealer tightened up the clearance between the ring and worm gear after installing new crush and oil seal. They actually got it a bit too tight and had to back it off some after I noticed it would not roll on a gentle slope. Now it is virtually silent below 45 mph has a bit between 47 & 50 but over that goes real quiet again until you back off the gas and it howls as normal, also when coasting above 50. Sorry for the long retort.

May I recommend O' Reilly's auto parts. Start with part # 85922 in the rocker switch on line area for the mech size. They have an almost limitless selection that will fit.

So far (under warrantee) my dealer has replaced...
    Rear axil bearing sets (3)
    seat adjuster
    DS seat belt retractor (recall)
    Brake balance switch, both
    Clutch master cylinder
    L drive seal, input side
About 18k on the clock in 18 months

My 2009 Challenger has 231k + miles and the only thing I've replaced is fluids, tires, 2 break jobs, a couple of lamps and a battery.
Some one told me (about the SS) "Just wait until it's out of warrantee, smirk"

Has anyone got the Ikea manual or directions for bleeding the clutch system? Just had my master cylinder replaced and the pedal throw is spongy and closer to the floor than I would like.

I finally got the SS to Volusia Power Sports for the knock sensor code. I mentioned that the ALBS light would come on intermittently. Work done...
New knock sensor. New brake balance switches. But there is more... They replaced the Driver side seatbelt retractor, (Recall) and the clutch master cylinder.
They found aluminum filings in the reservoir which I found odd since I had checked all the under hood fluids not more than 2 weeks ago and everything appeared fine.
Great catch guy's. All no charge warrantee. My hats off to the entire Staff at Volusia county Motor Sports. Thank you.

Engine light came on during ride to work. Looked up code. Knock sensor. Brake Failure light comes and goes. Brakes work great, engine running fine.
Got appointment at Volusia Co. Power sports Tues. PM 10-9-18
    Will advise...

Has anyone installed an oil catch can or separator on their Sling? Pro's and cons? Is it a benefit for regular asperated engines? Lot of info about this on the net. Please chime in.

Parts etc. no problem. A lot of the guru's on site here use standard Chevy parts as is. No news on what the replacement will be... I can see it now. Kewl, you own 2 Slingshots. " Ya, this one is Chevy powered and the other has an Alfonzo-de korenza motor." Just saying.
