State laws vary big time from one to the other.

For instance, in Alabama there is no law against carrying a loaded long gun in you vehicle within reach of the driver and or others in the vehicle.

Also in Alabama there is no law against open carrying without a permit a hand gun any where except the normal places like inside a police station etc.

Also in Alabama there is no law against carrying a handgun into a school or onto school grounds as long as you have a permit and do not have ill intentions.

Also in Alabama if you are riding ANY type of personal transportation land or sea (motorcycle, horse, lawn mower, boat) you must have a CC permit to carry a handgun.

If you are open carrying a hand gun and you put on a coat or other garment that covers the weapon you are now in violation unless you have a CC permit.

I always try to carry on my person in any vehicle and so far I have not carried a long gun in the SS but I'm sure when I do I will place it in the passenger side barrel down and as close to the console as possible.

The absolute most important way to carry is responsibly. CARRY ONe!

Mine is about burnt off too! Recon I should start another thread or would I be better off to hi-jak this one? LOL

@dangerdarrell is the Nitto 555 G2 315 you mention a 35R20" tire? Does it affect your nannys? I am getting ready to order a new one of some kind and I'm not sure what to order. I looked at the toyo T1R also but I believe it was a 305 25R20. My SS came with 305 30R20. I want all the dry traction I can get without going to a smaller tire or having to rob a bank.

Since you have the info you were looking for let me see if I can derail this thread.

For the folks that trailer their SS to SSITS, is it possible to park your truck and trailer in the fairground complex and just use your sling to commute to the hotel?

I would imagine that it wouldn't take long to fill up most hotel parking areas with a few trailers.

    Asking for a friend. LOL

They can and do go bad on occasion but normally they are either good or bad. That being said, if someone moved one like I did and didn't get it mounted correctly it could cause it to shut off when cornering hard in one direction and not in the other.

The tip over sensor will shut off the fuel pump as well as the engine if the SS gets upside down.

I moved mine to another location but made sure that it remained mounted in the correct position.

And yes they are standard equipment on all motorcycles these days.

Good deal! I have a good friend that lives there and I am sure that he can suggest some good places to eat.

I have been by the distillery several times and even been to it once but never did the tour.
We borrowed some barrels from them for my daughters wedding reception a few years ago. Good folks!

My phone number is in my signature. Give me a shout a couple days ahead of your arrival and as long as work doesn't get in the way we'll try to hookup.

I am only a couple hours from Huntsville. Keep me posted and if I can I'd like to get up with you for a meal one evening. We are always anxious to meet forum members. I will offer one word of warning though. If you are uncomfortable around fireams you will definitely be uncomfortable around my wife and I. We carry!

Oh if you fall off the wagon and you can get away from her for say 4hrs we can have you some boost installed and she'll never be the wiser,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,until the CC bill comes in. You might want to keep the rpms really low so she don't notice the woosh from the blow off valve. HEHEHEHEHEHE!

All the tie down advice is good but I have one more useful piece of advice for you. DO NOT ride or ride in anyone's sling that is boosted in any fashion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heeding this advice will save you about $10,000.00

Congrats on the SS purchase and good luck with your new love!

Being that it is relatively close to me (4hrs 42min) I would hate to miss it but the fact that it is the weekend before our spring race in Valdosta puts a cramp on things. That is the reason I couldn't commit to the "track day" at Roebling Road at Bloomingdale. We will just have to see how work goes and if we are set up loaded up and ready to travel for the race. It would be nice to ride up for Saturday at least.

    @iNewton

    I will respectfully disagree.

    BTW: This was in Canada

    Shooting[edit]
The incident began when 16-year-old Michael Slobodian[1] brought two rifles to school in a guitar case.[2] Slobodian began firing in a boys' washroom.[3] Slobodian first killed fellow student John Slinger in the washroom and wounded two others. He then entered the hallway and continued shooting, wounding several students. He proceeded to an art classroom, killed English teacher Margaret Wright and wounded two more students. After, he went back into the hallway and killed himself, adjacent to the art classroom. The total number of fatalities were 3. The total wounded were 13.[4] Witnesses of the shooting included students Cathy and Nancy Davis, the daughters of Ontario Premier William Davis. Another witness of the shooting was future The Kids in the Hall star, Scott Thompson who was a classmate and acquaintance of Slobodian. Slobodian wrote a note to his family saying he was "fed up with life" and "he was going to eliminate two teachers" (including Mrs. Wright). He wanted to get revenge because he hated the school system.[4]

If we are choosing up sides here put me on the side that an armed society is a polite society. We need more guns not less guns. Every teacher, every adult within the schools system needs to be trained and armed to protect the children left within their care up to and including deadly force. If the scumbags that are doing this crap knew they would have to face someone armed they would not be doing it. You see that as soon as this pos encountered someone else who was armed he threw his hands up and gave up without a fight. I am sick and tired of turning the other cheek. We need to put a stop to this crap and stop looking for the govt to do it for us. A govt big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have. More guns in the hands of good people is the only answer period. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun so "gun up".
