@haganjeff If you work in Nash lets do lunch one day
Reserved the room at Jonathan's Creek. We will only be there Friday - Sunday. Look forward to meeting the rest of you lunatics (I mean fellow slingshot riders). I need to save my pennies so I can ride home on some new shocks. That way I can show the wife the before and after ride. I think that is the only way it makes sense!
Sounds good Cypress. I haven't seen too many SS's here in Murfreesboro, although we have a dealer..Hope to hit Natchez Trace when the weather warms up. Let's meet up sometime, just keep me out of Nashville traffic!..It's bad enough in my SUV, much less this souped up go kart!
I have not ridden NT yet, but it is on the list. I drive in Nashville traffic all the time to and from work. I actually like it better because folks get out of the way or yield to it more because they want to look at it. Hopefully it warms up here soon.
@haganjeff Welcome to the fun!. I Live in Clarksville and work in Nashville. I am a pretty new owner myself. If you ever want to ride together or need anything hit me up.
I have been considering a Tundra as well. A lot to like about them. Hard to believe they can't improve the mpg rating though.
don't buy a Titan then. They suck the gas
2012 platinum and love it. Not the most updated on tech in the cabin, but a great truck. I would buy another in a heartbeat
I ended up doing my own LEDs. Nothing against those kits you can buy online...but you get more bang for your buck when you buy bulk units of JUST LED strips!!! Most fun I have had in a long time!!!! The thought of putting my own little twist on lighting up the Sling is intoxicating!!
I got another bag or two of goodies in the mail a few weeks ago. Looks like I will be doing some more!!!! Anybody can put lights on their Sling. The trick is, making sure the wiring is well hidden and the lights are tastefully done.
All in all, I have probably close to $400, or so, throughout the process. But, I probably have enough rolls of LEDs to outfit a couple of more Slingshots!!!! Shot me a PM if you are interested in some ideas, or need some not-so-technical help with your projects!!!! Happy to share the knowledge!!!!!!
where did you get the wheel lights orndidnyou create yourself? I have been looking at those, but they are expensive.
I only did exterior and have interior on my long list of things that need to get done. I got 2 sets of lights off of EBay for $45. Each set has 2 36 inch and 2 24 inch strips. They fit absolutely perfect on the chassis.Weather protected etc. Then $15 for zip ties gorilla glue and wire loom.
Here is a diagram of how I laid it out.
Orange: Put a 24 inch string on the top and and bottom of the support to have the light reflect through the grill and hit the ground.
Red and Green: Where the 36 inch strips were placed
Blue: Where the last 2 24 inch strips.
Ran the wiring clean and along the frame of the engine. Have the FM controlers in the glove box and they work off the one remote. Tapped the glovebox 12v Cig Lighter for power.

how many of you SS owners has tackled the under chassis glow lights ? WOW how cool is this .i talked to several dealers not a one said they had done this upgrade .but felt they could but they wanted like 300.00 labor so i had done this on my other toys .i bought the pro super bright strips run around 33.00 for a pair i put 15 under the unit then the blue accent lights on the inside .this was one of the most aggravating jobs i ever tackled in my life .nothing easy to get to on this thing but outcome was worth ever cuss word .
did mine myself also. Cost about $60 and a few hours of labor. Biggest pain in the butt was getting the zipties around the bottom frame. We ended up making a tool that was a lot of help. Saved us a few hours!
Great work, it looks good!
Have to give credit to the master on the creation of these rear inserts. A couple of months ago Painter and I came up with the vision to flatten out the rear inserts. I took a set of inserts, cut them down, cruedly fiber glassed them, and sent them off to Jim. The master then reworked them, had a mold created, then made them.
Thank you Jim.
I saw the inserts this weekend and I was very impressed. Very well made and solid as a rock! Yes I am still jealous
That is sick!!!! Great vison and result!! Has me drooling.
It was a pleasure meeting you this weekend. Thanks for doing what you do and being one of more genuine folks I have run across! These inserts are as smooth as glass and look great! I didn't expect them to look this good ;-). Thanks again and I will make sure to pay it forward.
I get to meet the legend this weekend as I pick up some parts! I will post pics once I get the sling all together. The final piece of my color scheme to make it all work. I will have to say everyone I have interacted with in here are freaking awesome. I should of bought a sling much earlier than I did!
Thank you sir cause you know the story behind this....hard road, ups and downs but a father that loves never gives up.
Thank you brother Mitch!
I can't like this enough! You sound just like my father and the father I am now. At times shit sucks, but seeing a positive outcome is the most rewarding thing in the world. Congrats to Jr and you!
The place I first saw an sling and said....... WTF is that awesome thing about to cruise down Estero Blvd? They must cost a fortune... I have to have one... Glad I saw it and got in on the fun!
Display MoreI have the Neutrino and use it mainly for anything low-variable wattage. An example would be our heated seats ~> we have PRP heat pads installed, and if you don't dial-down the power on them, your buns will get hella toasty!
That aside, is it worth the money for what you are looking to do? Depends... If you know how to wire up a standard fuse block/capacitors/resistors/switches (i.e. are good with electrical stuff), I would say: "save your money" and make something cool!
BUT if you're not, the Neutrino will allow you to easily operate those light circuits (on/off) and feed power to some sort of wireless RGB controller like this: B0773J78GD
For simple lighting, it's nice to have... but I can think of other uses I'd rather have it control.
Good info and I think you just helped me make my mind up. I am not an expert at electric stuff, but know my way around to do what I need to do. I think I will save my money and make something cool. Appreciate the quick response!
So I have been debating on this for a while now. It just seems too good to pass up. I am just having a hard time with $250 for it I have only added some under glow LED light, but plan on adding more exterior and interior lighting, have purchased the TricLED entry stills, and possibly heated gear late next year. Can I make all the lighting the same color with this? Is this a waste of money for what I am using it for? Any feedback from other that have used this? Benefits and drawbacks? How easy is it to install? Thanks in advance!
where at in Tennessee? I am in Clarksville and use Farm Bureau. Pay about 400 a year.
I was pulled over by a trooper in Nashville a few months back for no helmet. Told me they they were going to start ticketing for them soon. Also said if you have a roof you don't need a helmet. I have continued to ride without one and have not been bothered since. I guess I will wait until I actually get a ticket to wear one. My son also rides with me often and does not wear one. Even chstted with a few one day and neber said anyways as we drove off.
