My Lab is not looking forward to the noise. it doesn't scare her but she need to bark at every bang. That and running to the front fence to do the barking. She is getting to old for that.

I agree. I do feel there are alot of people that don't take pets in to consideration. Our German shepherd has always done really good but same as yours she's an old lady now, vision and hearing seem to be going and not much running anymore. Her bed will be far away from the noise if needed.

So for the first time in what seems like forever finally going to get a chance to set off some fireworks for the 4th. I will say, maybe it's the addition of places like YouTube but things seem to have advanced since my day of run out in the yard, light one, run back rinse and repeat. Gonna try some new to me technology and techniques. Anybody else enjoying blowing things up for the 4th? Seeing if anyone has any interesting traditions or over the top backyard setups.

While it pains me to click on anything from CNN, I can't help but laugh a little when it seems something from all the multiple back to back to back to back to back posts actually seems to stick to the wall. It makes me laugh even more to think of some of the responses I'll get to see from some members here if some of it were to actually come true... I'm just here for the entertainment.

The 2015 Slingshot originally shipped with a large nut tightened to 250 lbft and then replaced the single nut with 2 thinner nuts, but still tightened to the same torque level. Looking at the 2020 parts diagrams, Polaris appears to have gone back to a single nut, but now uses a castle nut that is secured against coming loose with a cotter pin. I'm guessing they probably still stayed with the same 250 lbft of torque for tightening, but I don't know for sure. A Google search for 2020 Polaris Slingshot rear axle nut torque failed to return a specific value.

Yeah Google wasn't much help for me either. That's why I turned here quickly. I appreciate the quick response and info, definitely gives me a place to start. Didn't figure there were a whole lot of people that would have had a reason to take that nut off yet.

Needing to know if any of you knowledgeable folks may know the rear axle nut size on the new style Slingshot and what the torque specs are when tightening back down? I think I've seen this info on the older style but not sure where you guys got it or where it would be best to look for the 2020+. Any info is greatly appreciated!

"Your Slingshot With A Symbol Of Our Unsung Heroes"

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day. Spending time with family and friends in honor of the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and didn't make it back home so that we could enjoy the freedoms that this day brings. Whether it be bbq by the pool, counting miles to Maggie Valley, or just simply you and your Slingshot with an extra garage day, hopefully everyone took a moment to remember the courageous souls that the Red White and Blue have lost along the way...

With that being said, I don't think our next topic could be any more fitting for today. Your Slingshot With A Symbol Of Our Unsung Heroes. This topic is meant to be a tribute to those who serve and protect us all. Looking for some photos with Police, Fire, EMTs, Military or THEIR vehicles. Be creative, maybe use this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you from the slingshot community. We're gonna run this one from Memorial Day to Independence Day. Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with to represent those who unselfishly represent us. Good luck!

Deadline will be September 6th, 2021.

    vice versa).

The voting thread may be a "blind" poll, which means the results will be revealed after the end of the voting time line or once a member has voted. Forum members will vote on a winner. The member that wins the competition will come up with the theme/topic for the next competition.

    - Once a photo wins a contest that photo will be added to the winners circle then "retired" and can not be used again unless for a specific contest.

Riddle me this,.. OK, look at wind power,.. these thing spin in a circle and generate power. So why can't they make a smaller version and put them in the wheels of the vehicles? This way, the more you drive, the more you make power and charge the batteries. No charging and limitless power, always fully charged.

Cause then it would take off and we're not to the Jetson age yet. Although a hover craft slingshot sounds pretty slick. :/

Was just listening to the head government gal on this virus stuff talking on the new cdc mask guidance that came out saying that fully vaccinated people no longer need a mask inside or out. When the news person asked her “what about the people who are not vaccinated” she pretty much said we are at a point where they are on their own there is enough vaccine out there and if they choose not to get it and don’t take precautions to minimize exposure then if they get the virus it’s their own fault. For the rest of us who are fully vaccinated it’s time to go back to normal - 🎉

Sent from my iPhone using Polaris Slingshot Forum mobile app

Hmmmm... so if this is pertaining to wearing a mask she's suggesting if you don't get the vaccine to wear a mask and protect yourself... but... I thought they said mask didn't protect you, it protects others:/ or is that like them saying you don't need a mask at all before requiring a mask? Who knows... I was back to normal well before the vaccine was ever available. Glad everyone can start catching up.

Bought a 2019 Sling last summer and hated the look of the single rear wheel. I did some research and decided on the Trak Hamr conversion. It was delivered about a month ago. It came fully assembled and ready to bolt in. The kit was complete and a piece of cake to install. It took me 8 hours. A well built unit and Troy was great to work with. He even gave me his personal cell number. Who does that? I would highly recommend calling Troy if you are interested in a conversion. Top notch company and he has a great product. It handles so much better now. I wanted to save a little money so I opted for the mono-leaf suspension instead of the upgraded coil over. I am not racing this and it is incredible as it is. Yes it was pricey, but in my opinion it was worth every penny. The kit was 100% complete and the only thing extra I had to buy was brake fluid to bleed the brakes and a rear tire and wheel. I found a used set of factory tires and wheels on Facebook for $600. It was a hell of a deal. Troy even welded in a class II receiver so since I had 2 extra front tires and wheels I bought a used Cycle Mate trailer and custom built it to tow behind the Sling. I am extremely happy with the way this whole thing came out. The alignment process was really easy. I have an friend who owns an alignment shop and it was a standard Corvette specs we used. The trailer tows great and it will be nice for road trips. I had to make custom fenders for the trailer and make a widened axle to fit the Sling tires and wheels. I scanned the paint with a special camera and was able to get a perfect match on the color when I painted the trailer.

Looks really good with the trailer and matching wheels.
