I have noticed 3 different places that rent Slingshots here in Maggie Valley/Waynesville area. Fly out and rent one. You would have a great time meeting all the folks you been talkin to for so long. If interested I would be glad to get to rental info for you.
sure, I could come down and rent a Slingshot, but one of the main points of great event like Maggie is all the vendors - - cant get a DDM Supercharger installed on a rental 
No SS riding - too busy working on new house. Going back to coonass land to get all our crap next week. It is SS related though - hand new handrails installed on deck so that none of my brothers (especially me) have too much shine & fall in the creek

love the house - sure wish I wasn't so dang far away - would love to come to Maggie, but my sciatica would kill me if I tried to drive that kind of time and distance and it just seems kind of pointless to go to the biggest Slingshot event that there is without bringing my Slingshot

Old people that have terminal preexisting conditions did not die of Covid.

actually it proves that you dont understand what the mask is for and why its different from the vaccine
wearing a mask is NOT to protect the person wearing it (unless its a professional grade medical mask) wearing a mask is to try to limit the spread of the virus in moisture droplets that might come out of the mouth and nose of the person wearing it so that is doesn't as easily spread to others - - - in other words wearing a mask is intended to protect others from the person wearing it
A vaccination on the other hand is designed to protect the person who gets it from other people who might be infected
the mask and the vaccine have almost the exact opposite jobs, protecting others and protecting yourself.
As a side note if masks and social distancing do not help then please explain to me why doing these things seems to have caused the flu season this time around to virtually disappear???

so, in the end people who are courteous of others wear a mask when they are around other people - even if it isnt 100% it is still the nice thing to do because if nothing else it makes everyone feel better about being around others
people who get the vaccine get it to protect themselves from all of the people who just dont give a crap about others and won't wear a mask
just because I don't worry about many things that could harm me does not mean I do not or should not take precautions when possible to make those things less likely
I don't worry about being run over crossing the street - but I also look both ways and make sure its clear before crossing
yes it is 100% guaranteed that in the end we all die, but intentionally disregarding things that can help to put off that inevitability as long as possible seems unwise to me

We got our 2nd shots this morning
thats great - - I will be very happy after my wife and I have our second shots out of the way and don't have to worry so much about all this
I know several people who have traveled to other countries who were taken directly to hotels that they didn't choose and made to stay in their room for 2 weeks before being allowed to continue on to their destination - - for a time even Hawaii was doing this with visitors.
Also I have been reading in various news sources that as countries are trying to open back up they are requiring proof of vaccination for those who want to move around freely and go to events and such and it could even become something that is required to move around here in the U.S.
Vaccine Passports - - even Biden has asked about the feasibility
at some time in the near future it could even be required to get on an airplane
As a side note I do know some people who are very against this - they say it is all biblical and a sign of the mark of the Devil and being trackable and controlled
personally I kind of figure just carrying my cell phone made me trackable a long time ago as would buying an airline ticket or reserving hotel rooms - - - not really sure how a vaccine makes much difference

I on the other hand have chosen to go the other way and get vaccinated - already got my first shot and will get the second next Tuesday - - for me and my wife the choice seemed to be an easy one - having family in the Philippines, Japan and several other countries we want to be able to travel and we would prefer not to have to quarantine and waste 2 or more weeks when we arrive in a different locations - - being vaccinated and having proof should cut down on and likely even eliminate any quarantine requirements that many other countries (and even some states) may have in effect - heck some countries are actually issuing "vaccination passports"
Right now if a person is not vaccinated when they arrive in the Philippines they are required to lock down for 14 days and when they travel out to my wife's families province they are required to lock down for an additional 2 weeks - - that would be 4 weeks down the drain, wasted if we were not vaccinated

When we did Bird rescue one of the first Birds we rescued was a Blue and Gold Macaw that someone won in a poker game. Some birds like Macaws will become attached to a specific person and once they are separated they become extremely depressed and self destructive. I never got the entire history of this bird but the vet that was supposedly treating him had him so sedated he would fall off the perch reaching for food. It was sad. Took almost 6 months to rehab him but he came back strong with the help of 13 other birds. Adopted him out to an elderly man who had lost his companion bird and they were a great match.
We also rescued an African Grey that we had no history on but no one wanted her because she had the most foul vocabulary you could ever imagine. Some of the things that bird said would may you laugh so hard you would pee your pants. She could also mimic a baby crying. She would wait until every one was asleep then start crying until everyone woke up. Once she had the company she was looking for she would do this crazy laugh! She was hysterical - but when ever someone new cam in the room she didn't know she would say - Show me your tits.
I think she belong to Tripod before we got her.
We have a Lilac Crown Amazon that we got from a man who had lived alone and had to give up the bird because he was terminally ill - - when we brought Layla home the change from a very quiet home to one full of activity and grandkids freaked her out so bad that she almost killed herself - -chewed on her own leg one night so bad that when I got up in the morning there was blood all over her and the cage ---- had to rush her to the vet where they could clean it up and get medicine and a cone so she couldn't do it - - its been years now and she has adjusted very well and should easily outlive all of us (only 2 when we got her)
