Another "not a Slingshot mod" - but somewhat related - - threw together some scrap aluminum I have and some screws and 1 inch spacers and made a rack for my riding glasses next to my helmet rack next to the Slingshot - - - just a quickie Sunday fun thing to make things a bit more convenient and also protected from scratches

After successfully swapping the steering wheel a couple times with the clock spring still working, I somehow screwed up the clock spring the next time I tried a new steering wheel. Given the clock spring cost, I decided to install a momentary contact switch in the steering column connecting the original connections supplying the clock spring to the switch. Not as convenient to use as the original horn switch, but total cost was less than $15, IIRC.
In the last 5 years I have probably honked the horn perhaps 6 times - 4 of which were after installing my new steering wheel to test it - as such if my clock spring were to become damaged I would most likley do exactly what you did

not sure what the belt is made from, but if it carbon fiber shrinking and getting tighter would not be surprising - carbon fibers have a negative heat coefficient and shrink when heated - - kevlar also has a negative heat coefficient
does anyone here know what the belt is made of?

Listen to Biden blathering about the raid that killed the ISIS leader reminded me of his 'we don't need boots on the ground we have over the horizon capability' comment. Why did we put boots on the ground and put our troops in harm's way when we didn't need to?
I would like to know how exactly they know they eliminated the right guy? - - they say he blew himself up with a suicide vest and took out the third floor of the building - - so how do they know that this wasn't some flunky disguised to look like this person and told to blow himself up for his god?
did they scrape up the parts off the ground and walls and run a DNA test? and do they even have the guys DNA to compare it to?
just seems very convenient to suddenly have this "successful raid" happen right when Biden desperately needs a diversion from his shitty job performance

When the wind kicks up around here we can get a great deal of fine dust in the air - - I have found that this dust buildup on the belt (probably combined with brake dust) seems to be the root cause of any belt noise I get. If I take a bucket of water and a brush and clean the belt off, my belt will be nice a quiet. How long it stays this way can be as short as a couple of weeks up to a couple of months all depending on how much dirt and dust it is exposed to - driving on any kind of a dirt road or parking lot even for a short distance is almost guaranteed to cause squealing. Also I have noticed that this seems to be more of an issue in colder weather than it is when it warms up. and it also something that only happens under acceleration - as others have said most likely because the belt shifts to the outside under load. I have not messed with trying to adjust the belt, I kind of figure that since it is not an issue when the belt is clean that cleaning it seems like a better thing for me to do than messing with the adjustment and risk making it more of a problem.
As a side note I tend to be a bit negligent in cleaning the belt like this. I seem to put it off until it starts making noise. Fact is if I simply did this type of cleaning every time I cleaned the rest of the Slingshot I would probably never have any belt noise
Also I removed my belt guard a long time ago. took it off to make cleaning the belt easier but also because I like the look better without the guard.

You should be able to buy a steering wheel puller at a local car parts store and get your money back when you return it. IIRC, I had to get some different screws to fit the Polaris design on my 2015.
many auto parts stores like auto zone also lend tools so it might be worth making a phone call or to to se if someone near you has a steering wheel puller

yes I have read that the new Polaris motor have a different final drive ratio to better deal with the higher rpm power band of the motor

So I thought I could figure this out once I saw it. But I can't get the DDMworks hub adapter off. I put the wheel back on (minus bolt of course) and jerked until my arms were sore...no joy. How do you get this thing off? lol
I would use a steering wheel puller. I bought one when I removed my factory wheel and it would also work to remove my DDM hub

getting ready to ride over to help my wife setup at her Friday farmers market - - sun is not quite up yet, but the glow is starting to lighten the sky - its 43 degrees out according to my outdoor gauge - - we've been a bit below normal the last week or so, highs have been in the mid to upper 60's. normal for this time of year is 71. - - according to my weather app by the time we get to next week we are looking at highs in the low 80's - - the ride in in the morning should be a good 10 or more degrees warmer than this mornings - - - - - -

this is why you almost never see a Libertarian or Green Party or any other third party allowed to participate - its rigged and its not a conspiracy theory, its a fact
now look at which parties in presidential elections are allowed to receive federal funding - - you know that $3 you can check on your tax return - - it only goes to parties who have at one time or another received 5% or more of the vote - in other words it only goes to Democrats and Republicans
again rigged to lessen the chances of anyone other than a Democrat or Republican having a equal chance
and that is also a fact
This is why Donald Trump ran as a republican - - he was never a Republican before he decided to run for President, in fact he was a strong supporter of Clinton and even voted for and supported Hillary when she ran for Senator - the only Reason why Trump was a "Republican" was because he knew that as a third party candidate the odds would be rigged against him, by registering as a Republican and pretending to be one of them he got around the games they play play to keep outsiders out - - - and you can bet the D's and R's wont let that happen again - - - this is why all of this January 6th commission and investigation is going on, it has nothing to do with what they say they are doing - it is 100% about trying to find a way to block Trump from ever being able to run again, not as a D, not as an R and not as a third party - - - once again the establishment D's and R's are working together to retain their power by working the system to block someone they see as their competition - Trump
Frankly if you truly believe that the people are in charge of who we elect then please explain to me why the electoral college in all but 2 state is allocated winner take all - so a Democrat winning California by 1 vote would be given all of Californias Electoral College votes - thus nullifying all of the votes of many smaller States - - again rigged and not conspiracy - fact - - if the system were fair wouldn't you think that the republican in California who lost by 1 vote should get damn near 1/2 of Californias Electoral collage vote? - - wouldn't that be the honest and fair way to do it if you actually wanted to represent the voters of the State?
the list goes on and on and its all verifiable - things the two parties do together to insure they have no competition and the things they do separately to be sure they win - - I live in a State where my Presidential vote has been thrown away and counted for nothing in the final results in every single presidential election since Ronald Reagan even when the guy I voted for won the election my vote was not counted as a part of the electoral collage vote, it was tossed in the trash because CA vote is rigged to ignore the non Democrat votes and 100% goes to whoever San Francisco and Los Angles wants

the only other front fenders that I have seen for sale are these - TricFenderz front wheel hugger front fender kit
they show them installed in addition to the stock fenders which I think is weird - if I were to get these it would be after removing the stock fenders - - also to me these dont look nearly as nice as the Threes Da Life fiberglass units
