Now Polaris is offering a navigation system in the 2018 models. My do nothing infotainment center has died, several months ago, so I wonder if I can talk my dealer into installing the new system? Probably not, but I will give it a go. Have not had the old unit replaced because I'm waiting on my recall stuff to get done.

Did not read all the pages, just to danged many, kind of like any Washington bill. To much crap for anybody to wade through.

I fall back on the word politics as I define it. Poli meaning many, and tics as blood suckers, put them together and what do you have

Let's define another word that is used as a title for a group of politics. We all know the word PRO, as in progress, as opposed to CON. PRO means we are in favor, CON means we are not in favor. That brings us to our word Congress, does that mean they are against progress?

    Don't get me started.........

I also received a set of mirror messages from Ross.

Many thanks to a really nice brother SS rider.

Been thinking of starting a Gremlin Bell giveaway or exchange, just have not figured how to do it yet. Somebody else could run with it if they wish.

Where do you take your oil pressure reading from?

I take my pressure on the right side of the engine up towards the front. There is a oil galley there that has plugs in it, just unscrewed the plug and screwed in. Water temp I drilled and tapped a place on the front top of the head by the water hose.

on a ride a few days back when temps were in the 90s I had about 51 psi just off idle and close to 62 psi at 3000. I should tell you I'm running 10-40 at because of the increased temps in the summer here. I will drop back to 5-30 when it cools off.

Not sure what oil temps were so my reading may be a bit skied.

Wonder if I am going to give away secrets here. Worked on both SR71 and B1, as a painter. The seams on the skin is covered with a wide clear tape, similar to packing tape, that was impregnated with gold. Seems that radar detects the seams in the skin of the aircraft and the gold tape made the seams disappear so radar could not detect the plane. Oops, why are there black helicopters circling overhead.................gotta run now.........

Don't see that in Oklahoma, they just don't fix the roads X(

Amen to that brother. We usually find a VW bug stuck in the bottom of our pot holes, they don't pull them out, they are good filler. We have a lot of panel poured concrete road here, bump, bump, bump ever 30 feet, just try I40 west of okc.

I got tired of waiting for the Polaris top and bought a Madstad Stinger. One of the reasons for buying the 2017 over the 2016 was the hoops that held the top, now i don't need the top mounting hoops holes so I'm trying to figure out something cool to do with them.

Yea I think the recall should have included that zerk! Wonder why they don't think one is needed?!

Probably afraid some of us would load it up with to much grease and kill the sensor.

Sorry got stuck on other projects and did not get to the drilling yet. Stay tuned.

That would do the trick. Maybe just someone holding a good powerful vacuum would work ok two.

that is actually what I was thinking of using. Got a nice new big ass vac that should do the trick. Or get a rubber donut used for sealing off pipes during construction and put it in the tube over the axle and pressure it up. I think the vac would work better, might try tommorrow. Ill let you know how it goes.

If you drill thru with that very small drill bit first and very carefully. Grease on the bit you would have very little chance of shavings getting to the bearing. The larger drill bit just drill just deep enough to thread with a bottom tap and with grease on each Very Careful IMHO

I think with air pressure pushing out you would have a better chance of not getting shavings into the work than getting grease all up in it. Never really like grease as a shavings trapper. Might tear into mine to see what could happen. No lose as I have not had the recall as of yet.

I also use the Dynaplug setup only the aluminum with the big flat push pad. Yeh i know im an old gimpy fart. Just makes it easier to push the plug in. Small compressor for the air.

Does Polaris not give us a towing card with purchase?

    LC

I wonder if a guy could very carefully drill the hole with the bearing still in place? I would have to pressurize the bearing cavity to blow shavings out and not let them contaminate the bearing.

Maybe I should try it on the old swing arm so if I am not successful the new arm will fix the goof.

So 1 and 1/16 inch in from the machined flat drill straight into the casting with a very small bit, then over drill with the proper size for zerk fitting just to required depth. Grease will go through a very small hole when under pressure.

    Whada y'all think?
