ok, I got the scoop from the dealer on those front bumpers....there was an update and they have been eliminated in the 2015 models. ..

I stopped in to get a new brain for my Polaris car alarm....under warranty... While the mechanic was driving into the bay he asked me if I noticed some unusual jerking in the steering wheel while making a turn... I said no....and he said there is something wrong and it needs to be fixed...They had one other 2015 with this problem...the steering box need replaced but they have to go through the he diagnostic procedures to get Polaris to cover it under warranty....the process will take 7-10 days.... The part is $1800

Installed the new extended hinges...everything looks and works great....except those front bumpers do not contact the hood...I would guess they were put there for a reason...the open how on the driver side is because to took the bumper out for the picture....the passenger side bumper has one nut under the hole but there is no way to adjust them up to make contact.....

These front rubber bumpers are about an inch away from touching the hood....I still need some pictures if your bumpers are set like they came from the factory..

That said I put the new extended hinges on and made some adjustments and it works like advertised...

2015 ..... Well I spent 4 hours getting the latches to all snap open at once...I found some rubber bumper issues...and I have a new hinge kit coming...so I really can't finalize anything until I replace the hinges...

My hood isn't lined up right, I'm trying to get it realigned. There are scrape marks on top of the middle headlight bracket. It looks like it's either banging up and down or sliding back and forth. I'm not sure if all the adjustable rubber things are set for the hood to properly sit on. I spent 3 hours playing with the latch brackets. The back of the hood looks like it's too far to the left looking from the front by 1/4 - 3/8 inch. I know I have to make sure the hood contacts lock downs squarely in the brackets. Any idea why it would be banging on the headlight bracket.....are the latches pulling the hood down too far. The bumpers not adjusted up enough. The dealer put on the heavy rear brackets and he sorta told me they had a hard time getting it lined up. They claim it wasn't wrecked....I'm not so sure...

I forgot the other thing that happened on the trip.... I took the turnpike....for the first time with the SS... Pulling up to get my ticket I scraped the front wheel on the curb reaching for the ticket.... More feelings of sickness....

Moral of this story....I'm getting EZ pass so I don't have to fumble with money and tickets and banging my wheels on the ticket booth curb....

The question I asked is after this reply .....

Thank you for contacting Optima Customer Service. Under normal vehicle starting applications, most regular automatic lead acid battery chargers will properly charge an OPTIMA. However, since OPTIMA batteries are frequently used in high-performance applications or non-standard vehicle starting applications, there are certain instances that must be given special considerations.
An OPTIMA battery is an AGM battery, not a "gel" battery or regular flooded acid battery. A deeply discharged OPTIMA battery (less than 10.5V) will not test or recharge properly if treated as a regular flooded battery or gel battery. A handheld electronic battery tester will most likely provide inaccurate test results.
An OPTIMA battery has the benefit of very low internal resistance, which allows high amperage output as well as efficient charge acceptance. This benefit also allows an OPTIMA battery to run longer than its specified ratings and run to a lower voltage than typical flooded batteries. All of this can lead to confusion when it comes to recharging a deeply discharged OPTIMA. Most basic battery chargers have a built-in function to prevent charging a battery with less than 10.5 volts. If your OPTIMA is discharged below that, the battery charger may not start up.
For regular charging, we recommend 2 amps with a max of 10 amps, 13.8-15.0V. For float charging we recommend 1 amp max, 13.2-13.8v.

    Subject* Trickle charging
Description* Hi, it's my understanding that in certain situations your battery may require hooking up two 12 volts batteries to bring one of your batteries back to life. My question is about using a trickle charger on a regular basis to keep the battery at the correct voltage, is a trickle charger effective in maintaining your batteries at peak power and will it have any effect on the battery's longevity? Thank you, Mark

Today I was pressured into going somewhere I didn't want to go. But I figured I would ride the SS. I keep it outside covered with a car cover. Woke up just in time to jump in the shower, get dressed grab my new " biker jacket" my new helmet and unlock the cover, uncover the SS, kick the wheel choke out and leave....started down the driveway heard a funny noise. Stopped to take a look and the battery tender and extension cord are wrapped around the back Axle with the extension cord plug jammed in the brake caliper. I'm not going to talk about the giant scratch on the inside of the wheel that made a complete circle right in the middle..1/2 wide.... Now I need a hammer and screw driver to pound out the plug from the caliper. So when I finally finish I'm 45 minutes late and have a 45 minute ride.

This was after 4 hours sleep and I just wanted to spend the day putting on the $600 of after market parts I bought. After I slept a little longer..to say I'm not a happy camper is an understatement....since the bike is 5 days old.

The battery tender survived without incident...my extension cord is shredded.... My rear wheel looks like crap... And I want to puke...

Moral of the story... Do a safety walk around before you get in the cockpit.
