I must admit that when I had the True Laser Track alignment done, the mechanic told me my Slingshot was almost spot on as far as the alignment was concerned, but I noticed as I was driving home that the steering wheel seemed to be a little off TDC. (It was raining cats & dogs and I didn't feel like going back in the rain). Once I got home, I simply made sure my wheels were oriented straight forward and repositioned the steering wheel while I was installing a new steering wheel.

We are not talking about the True Trak Laser, Polaris has their own system. Coastal Indian and Polaris in Murrels Inlet, S. C. will do the laser alignment.
Based on the OPs comments, I assumed he was having trouble finding a Polaris dealer who does alignments, so I offered an alternative source. As long as the dealer (Polaris or other) has done some alignments, I'd assume either system should work. I went with a local independent shop that does Spyder and Slingshot alignments simply because I haven't found a local dealer I like.

I’ve tried several of the dealers they list, but they don’t have the laser alignment?
That's odd, because the list is supposed to accurately list dealers who have bought the True Laser track alignment equipment. I guess that means the place I just mentioned in the previous post may or may not have the equipment.

Not sure where you are when you say Coastal, GA, but based on the link I provided in post # 30, this looks to be the closest Laser Alignment dealer to you - https://holeshotpowersports.com/About-Us/Directions. It's about 160 miles south of Savannah, GA, so if you live farther south, the drive gets shorter.

I believe all Slingshot dealers were supposed to get the alignment system from Polaris. You can also check this site for places that do Slingshot alignments - http://www.spydercomfort.com/slingshotdealers.htm

After stupidly breaking off the engine-side coolant tank mounting tab, I ordered the DDMWorks metal tank, but still haven't gotten around to installing it. I guess I should since I now have almost 10000 miles on the plastic tank with only one mounting tab. It's all on me if I get stranded, so I guess I better get off my a.., I'm just not looking forward to doing the swap.

I received this email response from Mattel -
"
Thanks for checking in with us to see when we're going to release the Polaris Slingshot Matchbox model. I'm excited about it, too! Regrettably, the production process can change at any time, so we aren't able to specify a release date. I'm truly sorry for this disappointing news.
Our website showcases a number of different products, some of which aren't available in stores right now. Please keep checking retailers in your area.
Kind Regards,"

Looks interesting. 300 mile range. Based on VW's MEB electric vehicle platform supporting Front, Rear or AWD variants, with some production (not necessarily the Dune Buggy) at VW's Chattanooga, TN facility.

As far as the Velcro adhesive goes, 3M makes a primer that increases the adhesive bond strength when applied to the frame before the Velcro. TD should have replacement Velcro pads, if you need to replace them later. After removing my canvas about 1 year after installing the Top, I noticed the frame Velcro seemed to be coming up along the edges. I used some zip-ties to help hold the Velcro in place, but wind flex now seems to be wearing thru the canvas where I put the ties.

2015 Base model.
Still thinking about changing to a bigger spoiler with a little more depth, possibly attached to an extension box to better funnel air to the radiator & intercooler.

I contacted Matel in September 2018. No Luck yet !!!!
From the info i've seen (sketchy at best), I think the Polaris Slingshot Matchbox model is a 2019 release, so maybe we'll get lucky. I've had a standing EBay search for a while now w/o results.

I just left a short message with Mattel asking about the release date for the Polaris Slingshot Matchbox model.

While the SSO model doesn't look as refined as a typical Matchbox or Hot Wheels model, it is a lot larger. Looking at the website pic, it looks as if the entire cock[pit is sitting on the ground.

As the article mentioned, SEMA has been thinking about filing suit against NHTSA to get the FAST Act implemented. The FAST Act would allow many specialty manufacturers who currently offer kit cars to also offer fully-assembled vehicles for sale to their customers, greatly increasing home-grown American manufacturing and would be a big boost for companies like Superformance or Factory Five Racing. This also raises a question about the FAST Act - Could a small company like Factory Five offer 325 fully-assembled models of each of their six or so models, or would they be restricted to a maximum of 325 fully-assembled vehicles per manufacturer?
