  • Who likes carbon fiber?

    The way my splitter mounts as a flat sheet it is very solid. Lots of screws.
    Maybe 3/16" but that would be a bit of trial and error. Most likely you will find something with a similar texture as the wing on one side and smooth on the other. If you want canards on the outside edges we could probably bend up 3" on each end.


    We would most likely waste a sheet figuring it out. But once it is done and we have the template all is good.

    Jim I have to agree if I was doing it all over again I would have made the splitter myself out of ABS
    But I was an excited newbie!
    I have to tell you that Carbon Fiber stuff is tuff I have wacked it several times no real damage.


    If you can locate the ABS in 8' sheets I think we could get 2 or 3 out of one sheet and make a template from mine.
    If we make a wood form we could use a router to cut them nice and clean then cap the edge with door molding

  • Parts breakdowns

    @rabtech, I was wondering if once we get some vendors on board if maybe one of them could help us set up a link to exploded views like the one on the parts site. Maybe we could build a good tech library. My thought is if I was working on something I could go there and open the exploded view before I screw something up. Normally I would use the manual but my computer screen can zoom in and I done need my magnifying glass.


    I think this and a cross reference section for common parts would be great.


    I think they should be static - no comments so it easy to navigate - I guess it would have to have a full time administrator.

    Check to see if the 4 way flasher go out at the same time as the turn signals.
    I had the exact same problem but as I said it was the Turn Signal Mod.
    It could be a relay / a module / or in the switch. Noel had explained how to trouble shoot it but I have to go back to that evil place and try to find the tread.

    If you are anywhere near south central VA I have a shop and my hauler for the SS is where I keep everything SS related, tools parts and so on. So if you can't get here I can get to you.

    Could be the relay - do the emergency flashers work?
    I am trying to remember how Noel explained trouble shooting to figure out if it was the relay or flash module.

    Looks like it is time for either the double nut or one of the axel locks.


    Do you have one of the turn signal mods? If so disconnect it and see if your signals work. Lots of issues with that mod. I removed mine and returned it all is good.

    @JimM here are the pictures you requested. I love the real carbon fiber but would caution doing the entire front wing only for the reason that it has a real nice deep clear finish and that part of the bike gets beat to hell with road rash. That is the reason for the black vinyl kit on my upper parts it makes them look more like the lower black plastic part. My Spoiler in the rear takes tons of polishing to keep it looking good. Just my opinion you know me I am anal about polishing everything. The black plastic cleans up easy and doesn't show chips.
