QuoteWe have been invited to display our bikes at the Clarksville Wine Festival again this year. The event will be held on April, 9. The Main street will be closed to traffic and we will be parked just outside the entrance to the Festival. Depending on interest, we will organize rides and a group dinner.
Hello all,
We have been invited to display our bikes at the Clarksville Wine Festival on April 9, 2022.
We would like to organize a weekend event for anyone who would like to ride in the Clarksville area again.
Typically we will plan rides for the day before and after. Depending on interest, we will also arrange group dinners.
In the past, this has been a fun event. Please respond to this thread with your interest
Thank you

Hello again Dieter,
Congratulations on the move. I think you will know the best area rides before the summer is out
Maybe you could post your address. Would love to see where you landed
( if not public maybe by PM)
Best regards
Hello Dieter and Barbie,
This is what we get for not keeping in tough. A surprise that you were moving. MV must mean Maggie Valley

Come on out when the rain quits
We have some nice routes all ready to go
With regrets we are forced to
CANCEL DUE TO WEATHER
Hoping to hear from anyone interested in a fall ride
Supposed to be nice again on Sunday
We did a test ride of the Friday route - it was great
Update for the lunch stop on Friday
We have booked the 'River Room' at Charley's Waterfront Cafe in Farmville for our group
We stopped there a few years back on one of these events and it was nice
See attached event description. Thanks

QuoteTwo days of riding in the Clarksville, Virginia area. Ride dates are 29 and 30 October, 2021.Group dinners planned for Friday and Saturday nights. Host hotel is the 'Buggs Island Inn' which was formerly known as the Magnuson. Limited space for the planned group dinners. Please respond if interested in joining the fun
Good idea Ga Batcycle
Yes, we are interested in front end parts
Our repaired front end looks OK at 5'
If anyone has some spares, we need to talk
Thanks
Hello again,
To anyone interested in the bike repair, here is what we found.
- the frame and all running gear seem fine
- plan to check alignment, but drives straight enough
- the front end took a hit. The support bracket was bent beyond repair (had been straightened before).
- purchased and installed a new support
- took a sander to the black plastic - no longer pebble grain along the bottom
- looking pretty OK again
The short answer is YES, We are planning to get a different machine for harvesting corn
Hello everybody,
Thanks Mitch for posting the photos and the kind words
The farmers name was Jacob (at least that's what he told me - may have been Eli)
When I offered to pay for the tow, he kind of seemed unsure. When I offered to pay for the corn, he said yes
The bike seems fine. I spent most of yesterday underneath cleaning and looking for any damage. The brake support bracket on the swing arm was bent. The front tube bracket is done. We had bent it before in the possum incident a coupe of years ago. The plastic held up pretty well. One wing has a cracked corner.
In hindsight my analysis is as follows. We punctured the rear tire. We were able to continue driving on it with no air due to the short side wall section. As mentioned above, the steering felt a bit funny in the last few minutes prior to failure. Next time we know to stop first before we go corn picking.
Hi again,
I am attaching a PDF copy for the Friday ride to Springfield Distillery and return to Clarksville

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Dieter,
No words are coming out. Please keep us informed.
We are hoping for the best
Regards from Martin and Cathy
Glad you came. It was nice to meet you and your wife. We enjoyed riding with you on the return from Shady Valley. Good luck with the mods. You were not sure where to get an adapter plate for your stereo (adding a stereo to a base model). Someone on this forum will know
Hello again,
Attached links are for planned Mayhem in the Mountains rides. You can send these maps to your phone or download for GPS as you wish. I would doubt that we will have good (any?) cell service on some of these roads. As Tim posted yesterday, he will have printed copies to hand out in the drivers meeting before each ride. We will be traveling today, please direct any questions to Tim. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
