Thanks large car. I’ve kinda thought about it some since it has fallen off its shelf to the floor a couple of times.

Thanks SSREAPER. Actually yesterday while I had the battery out and disconnected checking cables I installed a jumper post under the hood as per Sam Owens video and I hooked it up to where you show in the picture. And I do have a meter so It should be easy to give it a check. Thanks to all for the advice. And I do have a volt meter installed funcycle and it reads pretty normal, that’s what makes things weird.

I don’t know what the deal is with batteries. Bad luck I guess. My new 4 month old battery would not start the other day after a 2 hour trip and meter was putting out 13.3. Thank you for all the info. My knowledge on charging systems is not the greatest so I come here where I knew someone could explain what may be going on. Thank you for the info.

So a range of 13.4-14. I know it will vary with draw but I wonder if there is a set reading that Polaris says it should be. Anyone know?
Reason for this post in the first place is I am on 3rd. Battery, ( this one a larger champion battery). I don’t run much off it, have a 10 amp auxiliary fuse block for a few led lights, have LED headlights, keep on a battery tender whenever not driving and my digital volt meter says 13.2-13.3 while cruising. I’m pretty sure that should keep it charged.

Thanks Rock.
Most digital volt meters give a reading in volts for those of you not sure about the question.

What is your reading at idle and also at normal cruise down highway. Thanks.

I have heard of more people having trouble with that top. You’d think for what it cost and the time they took to bring it to market it would be perfect just like the Slingshot is. Wait a minute......

That’s the needle you want. Don’t buy a cheaper thin one. It won’t work. The right needle makes it an easy job.

Great job. Very clean.

No. I have a small compressor and repair kit. If that doesn’t work I’ll call road service.

My drive shaft sometimes makes a noise like that. Just the free play in it.

Love my F4. One of the best additions I’ve done.

Run a piece of nylon rope ( not to thick but strong enough) around the end and it will pull it right off Great for the hard to reach areas. Check U-Tube for video.

I just play pandora though the radio. If no phone reception usually no radio either so works out great.

I don’t think he can get in and out of one.

I’m even luckier. My dealership, Lone Star Indian in Garland, Texas is only 8 minutes from the house and they have done all my recall work and some warranty work. Very quick and a good job. I would definitely recommend them for any Slingshot work.

Seen this on Facebook today watched the video and this thing looks pretty nice. I am going to be on the look out for this when it hits the market. Luggage Rack easy installs and the one side pivots to allow easy access to gas cap.

Display MoreI have officially given up on trying to get to Arkansas. Its 3am and I just have had no luck with any if this oil pump install. And to top it all off a few hours ago I busted a blood vessel in my eye when I was straining to slide my fat butt out from under the slingshot. I was mounting the new oil pump and had just marked where i needed to drill the 4 holes. I was sitting in that area under the slingshot right behind the front tire and was using my arms to pull myself out when i felt my eye burn. By the time i got inside it looks like this.
Looks bad. We better take it out.

Thanks for the info! She had her CT yesterday. Won't get the results until Thursday though.
What would normally by done in a situation like this?

If everything is stable, the neck brace for a few weeks and ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation if she's able to take it. MRI would show if any nerve involvement as well as exam. I'm guessing other than pain and possible weakness she is showing no signs of neurological deficits or they probably would have kept her in the hospital. It may look bad but I have seen a lot worse. She really was lucky even though she may not feel much like it right now. I'd definitely recommend physical therapy when she is able. Without doing exams it's hard to say exactly but from what little I see I think she will recover well. Avoid surgery unless it is absolutely needed.
