Well all I can say is you got the first scratch out of the way so from here on nothing will happen. Glad to hear your ok. Painter will get it looking like new again I am sure

Just don't use red loctite if you ever plan to take it apart again

MBMedic, isn't the immobilizer only on slings with the factory radio setup? I have hear it mentioned but never really looked into it

Nice to see new options

My father restored a 1930 model A yrs ago and he replaced all the wood beams in the roof. At that time we had a factory in town Hillerich and Bradsby that made the Louisville hockey sticks and ball bats. A friend that worked there made all the ridge posts out of white ash and steam bent them to duplicate to the original. Real easy vehicles to work on and when you have to weld in a patch you actually have real steel to weld to. It's amazing all the repop parts being made for these cars. I still remember the first time my dad drove it out of the garage, it was a labor of love for about 3 years and the next half dozen yrs was spent driving it and showing it off until he found his next project.

Your photos all show slingshots that have tops, and what you added goes from the top to the side frame. So what you are looking for is part of the top frame?

Painter that's awesome. I have read a few articles about them. Looks like a great turnout. Safe travels

Your such a tease

I would think with the cuffs they could still roll it onto a trailer and be gone. With the e-brake and gear shift locked it makes it more difficult to roll it.
-
I bought one from Amazon. It will not work with the stock e-brake handle. I bought the NRG handle from Slingmods and it works great. I am not sure how anyone would pull the the shift knob up as it's got the set screw through it. I think it will keep the honest person honest but if a professional thief wants it then nothing will stop them if they want it bad enough.

@Shatneyman my son was a goalie his entire career. We spent many yrs in the arena. Being the goalies dad is a tough job. If the team loses it is the goalies fault, if they win it's the goal scorers that won it. I always told my son he is nuts to let someone shoot a puck at them at the speed some of the kids can shoot. His on coach was a ex NHL player and I remember my son telling him to shoot the puck as hard as he can, well the coach looked at me and I just shrugged, he backed up almost to the far blue line and gave it. My son took it right in the gut, he ended up on his ass sitting in the back of the net. He didn't complain or cry but his stomach was bruised for a week.
Anyways wish your son all the best and maybe we will see the name Shatney on a Habs jersey. -
Outstanding you two! Well done.

@MiM well it's pretty quiet from you, is the big unveiling ready? You realize some of us just can't wait! Come on let's see the work of art!

I picked up version 2 at Maggie Valley and I really like it. It shades the radio screen well and like Sam said it finishes the area off.

I had a good look at it in Maggie Valley and I have to say this, I am surprised it's still in one piece. I can't believe the quality of the welds that were used for the new frame. Wow It looks like a bunch of high school kids welded it together. I am not a person to criticize another's craftsmanship but when you advertise in your business that you offer professional welders it leaves it wide open. I don't mind the idea as it's thinking outside the box which is how things get developed.
