Those wheels look really good! I've not changed mine, thought about it, but that's all. Would love to get wider on the back for sure, and likely a tad taller. Speedo is off about 5-6MPH at road speed (Shows 67 for 62 actual), and that is since I put on the new tire. It was worse before with the stock Kendas.

@KayTwo, that version is the short version of the legend of the gremlin bell. Yes, the bell is supposedly double in strength if given to you as a present. However, the reason for the bell working so well is that the gremlins can't stand the pitch of the bell. That is what stops new gremlins from getting on the bike, and the ones already there go to it to try to stop the sound. They crawl into it, and slip out from the slick surface inside. That is why placement is crucial. It should be as low as possible, so that they don't fall out onto the bike again to cause more mischief.

Also, rumor has it, that when they fall out, when they hit the road it is what causes potholes. If true, that would explain Indiana roads.... :D

Lead Tool Designer at a prototype/limited production run sand cast foundry. Mostly aluminum, but also some iron, both gray and ductile. Over 21 years with this company, some slow down times but never been laid off. Also if slow, I can do setups, prototype machining, build fixtures, tool making. Keeps me (mostly) out of trouble.... and gives me tools and opportunity to build cool things for my toys on occasion. Like this cover on my handlebar bolts for the apes on my Harley Road King below....

Hey @Goats_Hogs -- you need pictures????

Only way that offer would be better would be with cookies! Thanks for not forgetting.... no calendars here as of yet! Amazed that @Tripod got his way out west but the mailman didn't stop in Indiana at my place yet! Maybe both of mine will show up today. Pictures are always welcome! Calendar, family, dogs, cats... Just not pictures of cookies please! I can put on a few pounds just looking at those! :D

(Edit: I did see one of my pictures on the front of the calendar in the sneak peek that was posted, pretty stoked about that!)

I contacted my dealer the day after I saw the recall notice here. They didn't know about it then. I got on list, and the dealer called a few days later to tell me I was at the top of their list and in the Polaris system. Never have gotten a letter from Polaris....

Likely take about 2 weeks..... :P

The striping kit looks really nice! The owners choice in words (unless that was their last name) not so much. I did get asked if my SS was a Lambo 3 different occasions shortly after I bought it... but that was early on. Still run into the occasional person that hasn't seen one, but those times are getting fewer and fewer.

Finally! Wife and I are registered! Staying at the Microtel. Funny thing was, contacted Comfort Inn.... they laughed! (OK, they said they had a waiting list long enough that they would not get to me). Contacted Ramada Inn, Not available for those dates any longer. Contacted Microtel, she said that they looked booked.... then asked if I was with SlingShotRoadsters? I said yes (didn't mention it at first, my bad). She asked if a single Queen bed would do, I said yes. I got the last one, they are booked. So anyone considering this run, don't wait or you may not be able to stay local.

We will arrive Tuesday the 30th, but will have to leave early on the 4th to drive back. No plans to trailer..... if weather looks good we will be riding in.

To clarify my previous post, the motels told me they were booked up and full. However, since @ivor posted, I'm guessing that they are booked considering the rooms that Slingshotroadsters have set aside. Without being with the group, no rooms are available is what I was told for the Comfort Inn, and the Microtel (changing to Quality Inn). I only looked at the Ramada Inn online, didn't call them.

Sharon and I are in, arriving Tuesday morning, thru Sunday early morning departure. Look forward to some great riding, and meeting all of you that I can! Comfort Inn, Ramada are full with waiting lists. I got the last Microtel room. Anyone wanting to come should be looking into getting rooms, they are filling up fast!

Here is the recommendation Painter gave me to help with ours:

    1. Put the nut back on and screw it down only two or three turns. (We want a space between the nut and the steering wheel)

    2. ((Get a Hammer) Put your knees under the wheel and grab the top of the wheel with your left hand. PULL the wheel hard toward you and hit the center nut several times pretty hard till the wheel pops loose. This has worked every time!
    3. Take the nut off and remove wheel

When using this method, it is imperative to have the nut on.... otherwise you risk a black eye or bloody nose from the wheel hitting you in the face! Extra point... have someone video it if you don't put the nut on and upload said video to YouTube. You could go viral!
