Are Rhode Islanders still meeting up anywhere in RI for rides? Now that we have the legal issue resolved, would love to meet up with others in the area.

Great News: Hubby just called to advise me that an article was published in the RI Providence Journal today about RI getting the green light for the slingshot. He received an email from the writer to contact him regarding the new law that was just passed in RI making them legal. He was referred by one of the representatives that we had helping us to get the law changed and today the article appeared in the paper. So proud of him, just wished they had put a picture of the slingshot vs the one they showed in the article.
In closing, thanks again to this forum for guidance, advice and support. This is a great family to be a part of and we truly appreciate your friendships.Autocycle Article in Projo.pdf

Yay! John and I finally have the issues resolved with the State and were able to get our Slingshot finally. Attached is a picture in our neighborhood overlooking Mount Hope Bay in Bristol, RI with Fall River, MA in the background. It was a little overcast, so more will follow.
We finally got it registered on the 11th and I must say, my husbands smile on his face after leaving the registry with the registration finalized was priceless. We have been riding nightly and John is enjoying the responses, but I am a little off with it after a while. Feel like I am showing off, which is not a comfortable feeling, but John is loving it. Amazing how quickly I was able to drive it with no problems, since I haven't driven a standard in quite some time. But it just came back naturally. Now to meet up with other riders in the area to share the enjoyment.
Funny story, not to me, but to others. John picked me up at work one night and a member of the Club (I am a Club Administrator for a Golf Course) thought he was my son picking me up. We don't have children and my husband is 6 months older than I am. He is 61 and I am 60. So now the joke is I am his mother!
Additionally, the other day riding through town, a pretty girl was jogging on the sidewalk and spotted us and yelled, "Nice ride dude!" Dude! I haven't heard that in ages. We laughed so much that night.
In closing, thanks everyone for your support since we became members of this forum. You guys/girls are the Best!

Great news! Thanks for sharing.

I agree with my husband chefjohn who had me use it. Easy, accurate and FREE. It warns you of cops, objects, traffic, etc. Other users update which problem or alert is approaching, gives you the option to update as you approach for others to know if still an issue or not. Give alternate directions if traffic to avoid. John is on the road daily between RI and MA and loves it. Don't use Garmin any more!

Why don't you get a base model and have it painted purple ? It would still be cheaper.
I would if it was for me, but hubby want's the Blue.
-
I personally would like a purple color, but will be getting a blue one.

Haven't seen anything as well.

BlackDeath, thanks for the feed back. Chris is our rep at the dealer as well. Looks like we won't have ours for the 4th, but should have resolved within the next two weeks so we are told. Will have to have the Slingshot delivered instead of driving home. Hubby was a little disappointed we would not have for the 4th. Have never worked so hard for something in my life. We will have to meet up once resolved. John has a friend in Pawt. who he is trying to get to buy a Slingshot, but wanted to see ours first. Can't wait to be able to ride and enjoy. Keep in touch! Additionally, so others, but until RI resolves the registration we are in a hold mode.
