@Turbosling - with the SC, can we use the CAI, variable exhaust?
I prefer not to invest in a CAI and variable exhaust and find out they won't work with the SC
Darn, just saw the post about the baby. Congrats!

@Painter - love it, just love it.
P.S. Love the black graphic accent on the hood that swoops to a point above the headlights.
One last post to this thread...
After a three hour nap and a good dinner, I thought I would share a few final thoughts.
First, outside of sharing a common interest in the Slingshot and this community, you guys really don't know me.
So, an absolute THANK YOU to all who have supported me and kept up on this little endeavor. Very impressive and thankful.
Although this was my rookie year, this is the 15th time they've held this event in Charlotte.
The last update I read earlier in the week, they had already raised over $1.4 million dollars during this year's event. I raised $1,642 dollars in donations and expect that to go up in the next week as some companies submit their matching donations.
This event is not entirely about a biking event - it is really a celebration of life. People turn this event into a huge party. Neighbors along the route hire bands, hand out beer and wine to the riders, have inflatable slides for the kids, and hang lights in the trees.
Many riders dress in crazy outfits, decorate their bikes, and play music from their bikes. Take a look at some of the pictures at the link below. Everyone is smiling and having a great time.

Many people ride for an hour or two then party in the camping area. I could have been a half-dozen beers into it by my sixth lap!
Next year, I might take a less serious approach!
There were also somber moments. At the beginning of the event, they read the names of individuals who participated in past events that are no longer alive due to cancer.
There was a "street of memories" - where people can sponsor a white luminary bag and add an "in memory of" messages. They lined the darkest side street with over 400 bags. They lit the bags at midnight and in the quiet hours of the morning, when you just want to finish, I had a lot of "conversations" with myself about what each bag represented.
Thanks again,
Tom
Waiting to start - and beer and wine being offered by a homeowner.
Overall, I like the SLR. Had plans to paint mine a dark candy cherry red and the new red is pretty nice. Like the top.
Considering all of the aftermarket mods many of us have done, we are deeper into than the SLR price.
If it builds more interest and excitement and brings buyers in, then good for everyone.
How about a front wheel or all wheel drive option? Gets expensive I know.
@MACAWS, I have been thinking and wondering about what she meant but my abruptness never gave her a chance to clarify.
I guess I should have listened more. Will be interesting if I bump into her again.
Went to the grocery store about 40 minutes ago.
Had on my Blue Lives Matter t-shirt that arrived earlier this week
Lady says to me "How can you wear that?"
Me "I am sorry?"
Lady "How can you wear that racist t-shirt"
Me "How is it racist to show support for the officers"
Lady "That shirt is disturbing"
Me "Fuck you lady". I turned and walked away
I was pissed. Still am.
How in the hell did we get here? My god.
Another good week - just has been HOT with heat index in the upper 90s all week. I've become comfortable with sweating.
Had a goal of 215 total miles for the week and made it!
Drove the Sling down to where the events / ride will be next Friday. It's a 3.2 mile loop with about half flat to down hill and the other half uphill.
A lot of tree canopy for shade.
Probably ride 30 - 35 miles Monday and Tuesday then rest and stretch Wednesday and Thursday, and eat pasta, carbs, and hydrate.
How about an audio recording of the exhaust note? Something. Withdrawals suck.
To clarify, the metal I was referring to is backing the black plastic that is below / under the hood latch.
The part of the hood (which is the color of the Sling) above the latch is not supported / reinforced on mine.
It is on my to-do list to reinforce the back of that upper area with a fiberglass repair kit used for boats.
However, my Sling is only a few months old and the hood hasn't been opened as often as the older units. Time will tell.
