Next week I am removing my wheels to have them powder coated. What is the best way to hold the slingshot up?
Im planning on jack stands in the front, along the frame where the control arms bolt up, unless thats a bad spot. The rear looks alittle tricky, what have others done?
Also Im torn between gloss black or a matte gold, posting a pic of what I have, what do you think would look best? Its Storm Gray and black.
I fully understand people not warming up to the pedal commander, I would not have one myself, but the lag in throttle responce was to much.
Since the Slingshot is still new to me, I have only put 100 miles on it because it has been snowing and raining for 3 months since I got it. I may move it up the scale as I use it more.
Just happy with the big lag in throttle responce is gone for now.
I love my pedal commander, I keep mine on city 1, its night and day difference over stock. When I went to higher setting, it just seemed very touchy, its still managable, but city 1 was enough to remove all the throttle lag.
Anyone install the hood assist kit, I ordered one thinking it may be a easy install by watching the video. But now im finding posts saying its not for the faint of heart.
I just ordered the hood assist kit also. I dont have much trouble opening the hood, but hate the way it wants to slam closed, so I hope this helps that issue also.
Got the update installed. A friend of mine who knows and understands all this got it onto a USB for me
I like all the DDM items I have gotten so far.
looking at the extended hood hinge kits for my 23 SL. They pretty much look the same, is one better than the other. I looked on Slingmods but it says out until Oct. Would like to get one sooner than that. Anyone that has one, give me your advise please.
since I am pretty much lost when it comes to computer stuff, is this something we do ourselves? Or the dealer?
Bought a pair of DDM side hood vent louvers, still waiting on them but got the cut outs all done for them. Figured with the crappy weather, I would get a jump on it and take my time to clean it all up.
I would say faulty switch.
I did find the pos and neg with a multimeter. With stereo on, touch the pos wire with pos lead and neg wire with neg lead, it shows a reading. If I reverse the leads, it shows a neagative reading.
so basically whatever wire the pos lead is on, that shows a pos reading is the pos.
Im not well vered in electronics, but it has always worked for me.
I know the speakers will work if you mix the pos and neg, but the sound will be compramised.
I have the meter now to check the factory wires, I got to them yesterday. The right side has 2 purple wires and the left is 2 gray wires. I did not see any stripes on either wire so I will check them tonight.
Does anyone know if the striped wire is negative or positive on the rear speaker connectors?
Its kind of to bad they didn't put the right connectors or even the other side of the connectors for these speaker pods,
Im getting ready to pull the trigger on the rear pod speakers. Dont want to spend double the money for the plug and play Polaris set up. I can cut the oem wire plug and put my own plug.
Do you know the wire colors for the pos and negative on the rear speaker plugs?
The nylon tie rap just snaps. Even broke the T handle on one of my spring pullers. These springs that come with the 1320 muffler are stout, dont know if they need to be, they are a 1/8 inch longer than the oem springs, but pretty heavy duty. Still have not yet retried to install them since breaking the spring puller. When the handle broke off, my elbow slammed into something underneath and has been too sore to try again.
ok, found out that I was not being forceful enough on bending back the inner fender. Was told to really pull out on it and it will go, I did that and it worked.
Got the shield and muffler off, new 1320 muffler set in and top spring on, reinstalled the shield. Now fighting the 4 springs on the bottom.
Im pretty sure if Polaris really tried, they could have made this mounting system even more of a pain.
will the recall show on the Polaris app on my phone?
Mine is the newer gen 2.
looking at the manufacture dates, mine is one of them. Figures, every vehicle I have bought ove the past 10 years has been recalled at some point.
