Thanks for the input. I think the price was a few hundred dollars difference. I have been holding out on Accessories since I bought it , well started small I should say , but I just recently upgraded the sound system foot pedals and things like that I would now like to spend the coin on one of the most over looked add ons and that’s a comfortable seat. I think it’s well worth the price for comfort. They both look nice the newer one the ss looks like they “form or Cradle for lack of better words” around the body more , but it’s hard to tell without actually sitting in them. And if you have the older style in both your ss I’m guessing the foam holds up, hopefully for years. It’s a coin flip between the 2 unless there is another brand that I haven’t come across on the net. A slight edge on the ss for style and looks , but what’s more important than looks for me and my back, is it has to be comfortable. I also believe I read something about grades of firmness and with that comes another decision. The more choices I have the harder it becomes for me to decide.

Anyone have these seats? I will ask first if you like them and I’m sure you will say a crate with a piece of foam is better that the stock ones and also is there another seat out there comparable in price that someone with a bad back can sit and tolerate for a 3 hour ride in some comfort? And lastly will the sling seat interfere with the amp I have under the drivers seat? People without bad backs need not reply. Just kidding😬 any input will surely help. Nothing worse than trying to get into a scorching black rubber- plastic whatever you want to call it , seat while people are watching not so much the person getting in , but being intrigued by the sling and can’t help but notice the look of pain coming from there faces while getting in.||

Thought I would send you a a few pictures for you to evaluate how I did. It’s been in the 90’s with about 90% humidity no need to tell you how that felt working on it for days. I used all possible attaching points that were factory everywhere that it is mounted I used rubber grommets for both air gaps and for cushioning so it flexes with the road. I’m glad I went through the effort to re - wire everything that had to be to add the amp. I really thought it sounded good without the amp, but boy I’m glad the people on this forum encouraged me to add the amp and I am sure glad I did. What a difference!!!! Thanks again to all.

That was a simple explanation straight and to the point. Sometimes especially with me I get more out of less the way my brain works. I use visual associations you just made something that for days I’ve been trying to wrap my head around into something as clear as day👍 what a piece of cake. I was thinking to myself, why is it that I can wire my whole basement, from breaker box to every 2 or 3 way light switch and outlet but I can’t wire a a dam car stereo.🤔 3GunSteve Thank you for putting it into layman’s terms for me. And thanks again to everyone who contributed to this Complicatedly easy job. Still have a long way to go to catch up to you guys!

If your head unit has the pre-amp RCA, use those. These will go from head unit to amp - then amp has your wires to speakers. Like it says in that pic, turn off internal amp using preamp outs and you should be good. Not sure how your amp is but on RCA input but I needed to use a 12v signal wire to turn the amp on. When using Hi/Lo inputs I didn't have to, so just something to read up and understand for your amp.

Ok so if I’m following you correctly, I will be using the low level inputs because I have pre- amp outputs correct? I bought the kicker 4 channel rca connectors. I have them going from the pre - amp head unit to the inputs on the amp. So your saying I cannot connect both high and low voltage. So the high voltage would be the speaker wires from the head unit wiring harness to the bare speaker connectors on the amp. That would be considered ( high voltage)? If I am understanding you correctly I will plug the rca connectors from the head unit into the rca inputs on the amp and leave the speaker wires from the head unit connected to the speakers and that would be considered (low voltage)? I added pictures of the equipment I am using just in case I’m still not understanding the hook up. With what I have and not adding any other components, if this is what you were using how would you wire it? High or low? And or another way. I hope this is enough information to un-confuse me.

I’m reading the manual for both the stereo and the amp. They both king of go over the wiring as if everybody has done this before and know what they are talking about. Sorry guys but I thought I would be able to take it from there, I guess not. they talk about speaker high and low level output if you hook wires this way or that. Instead of just drawing a diagram on different variations of wiring. You have rca pre amp out puts and you have your harness where I have my speakers hooked up to right now. Do the pre amp outputs go to the amps rca input connectors and the speaker wires go to the speaker connectors on the the amp? Or they mentioned for high output go from your speaker wires and install rca connectors to the speaker wires and plug them into the head unit rca pre output rca connectors, but then how do you hook up the amp? Am I missing something? I will send a picture of the instructions from kicker. And how would you wire in the amp, with a high or low output? Sorry for so many questions, I thought I had this.

Can you tap into the speaker wires coming from the head unit to each speaker and then run them to the amp? I ask this because there is a switch in the head unit to turn off internal amp if you happen to get interference with rca connector to the amp I believe I read something like that in the manual. Or do I have to disconnect the speaker wires at the head unit and run them to the amp? If it will work either way is one way better than the other? Thanks

I read lots of info about where people put there amps and I have seen lots of YouTube videos where people put them under the glove box or ripped the whole back side off where the fin and camera are located where they put several amps, that looked like to much work , but a nice location. And also people put them under the passenger seat as well as driver seat. Now let’s get to the point. This new kicker kma360.4 may not fit where I wired for and planned on putting it, under the front driver seat. Just got through with a piece of cardboard and tape measure. Without taking the seat out yet and a wild guess is that it may fit barely either length wise or across if it is mounted all the way to the front just before the hump in the floor. Mounting it across would leave me no access to the controls and mounting it front to back won’t allow for spacers for airflow under the unit. Also the seat tapers towards the back and I may not have clearance where the speaker wires are located. Dilemma 101. Maybe I should have bought a small little Clarion. Any creative suggestions? I sure would love to keep it under the driver seat. Maybe someone here will make my day and tell me it will fit and give me some direction on how to install it there. Thanks for your wisdom and any brutal honesty. This is my first stereo with an amp that I have ever installed. I have installed many stereos with equalizers when they were “in”back in the 70’s , 80’s and 90’s. This is a whole new ball game for me.Through cut up arms to bashed fingers to every bone in my body aching I’m still having fun doing it and learning a lot from everyone’s post and pictures. This forum and the people on it are the reason I am starting to enjoy adding after market accessories. Listening to people like me with problems of there own and from beginners to experts jumping in to lend a hand. I can’t thank you enough. The more I educate myself with questions the more I can also join you and pay it forward!

Thanks I didn’t know that the voltage from the speaker wire was enough… I think I will do that myself till I switch over the front pods. I knew someone here would come up with an idea, their seems to be a lot of creative people on this forum. So the blue wire you wired let’s say to the stripe speaker wire being + and the black wire to the solid speaker wire being ground? Just want to be clear before I go fu$@@&g with the wires. Thanks for the idea. I have them, mind as well use um for now. Thanks again.

Can anyone give a quick answer to the length of ferrules needed for most amplifiers? I noticed on Amazon they mention a type A and typeB but don’t explain what the difference is. Other than looking at the pictures it looks like one maybe longer than the other. Other than the ones I’ve been looking at on Amazon does anyone one have a preferred kind? A kit would be fine but not necessary. I’m going with 8 awg because that’s the size I have on hand.

Did you hook the leds to front pods or rear hump. I ask because I have the same speakers in the humps which I just recently purchased and they have sealed wires for the speaker wires coming out the bottom, but you would have to drill another hole for the led wires in each hump pod which I really didn’t want to do being there are truly sealed at this point So I just tucked those wires in the hump and if and when I replace the front speaker pods I can always swap the leds to the front and buy the kickers without leds for the rear. Unless you have a solution?
