Not sure I pulled out the whole stock stereo from my 2016 SL. It's al sitting in a box. Even the wire harness.

I couldn't stand the stock stuff, so lame. Now my SL rocks with 10" sub, 500watt to that and 4 6.5" coax with 75watt to each speaker and a Kenwood 10.1 headunit!

Chunk of change but worth it to me.

Does anyone know the max width tire I can put on a stock 2016 SL rim for the rear?

My tires all have good tread left, but I want the look of a bigger, wider rear tire. The SS almost commands this. The stock just aint wide enough for me. LOL.

Yes on my 2016 SL, I had the rear camera replaced with the recall. They physically swapped out the camera. I also have removed the entire stock sound system wire harness and put in my own stereo. JLAudio amps, Kenwood 10.2 Head unit, all new speakers and pods.

Been running this for 2 years without a single problem. All connections soldered to speakers. etc.

The 2016 had quite a few recalls. Even brake switches and the drivers seat base had to be swapped out. I havent had a single issue after the recalls.

    Good luck.

Yeah I was joking about the $39K. Damn pricey. And you are right EjFord, how many hours must it be rented to get your money back? A lot.

Ran across a 2021 Auto Drive with 5,600 miles on it for $24K at dealer. Too much IMO.

Yeah with feedback from this forum, I've decided to NOT buy a 4 seater now. It's just too risky I guess. Even with a LLC it sounds like theres bastards out there just waiting to wreck it and sue.

Got damn. I'm out on this option.

On a better note, I stopped at my local Polaris dealer to day and looked at the brand new 2023 models. Damn nice! Everything about them has improved. Seats, scoop hood, etc. Impressed. Only $39K out the door!

Got damn guys, ok I guess I will NOT get a 4 seater. With all the legal crap it looks like this option is OUT. Thanks for the heads up but what a disappointment. I know for sure I could rent this all day, especially on the weekends.

    :(

Yeah like I said I've already spoken to them. They will classify it as a modified vehicle and those that rent it WILL sign quite a few docs that will not put me or the business liable for anything. It will also have live GoPro cams running while the renter drives it. So everything will be in a video and again, no off road, no freeways, highways, etc and nothing out of the state. thus its a "look at me" rental for around town. LLC for sure and the vehicle registered to that business, not me.

I think Im good. and rentals will create quite a bit of money.

    Just saying. Thanks

Yeah I get this. But I'm not looking to drive this on the freeways, etc... it will be a rental for local, in town travel only. I've asked a few insurance companies and it's not much different than the open seater cars you may see in tourist towns that people can rent.. scooters, etc.. It would be a rental 100% for in town driving only. I of course would have major paperwork anyone renting would sign which includes all the basics, like no smoking, no pets, no freeway/highway driving no off road and more. It's very easy to take digital pix before and after the rental.

    Thanks for the input!

I've got the same year/model only in Red/Black. Love it. I know this year had quite a few recalls, I'm guessing you had them all done? Even the drivers seat base was recalled do to faulty "locking" lever. The seat would slide back on take off. lol. I had all my recalls done and so far everything has worked perfectly.

Would love to get this from you. Need to check finances, wife, etc. lol

Yeah I'm up in North Idaho. Already called insurance company and had them switch to "storage mode" for the SS. I make sure to fill the tank up with premium Non-Eth gas. I also put a battery tender on it. Randomly start it up in the garage and let it run for 10 minutes or so. That's it. Easy.

It gets cold here too. Real cold. Been doing this since 2016

I purchased it and what a difference in heat!!! OMG! This should have been stock on the Sling Shot!!!! Polaris screwed up again. It looks good and actually works fantastic. It's NOT a perfect fit though. Real close but I noticed the front point bends up slightly. Yeah I wasnt happy with this, but its real small issue and the extra heat loss is well worth the price IMO. I have it on my 2016 SL. Yes its smooth surface compared to the textured black on the hood, but I dont care. Its' about the heat release and this it does well! major difference to inside cockpit area and surrounding plastic shroud of stereo area.

Polaris! You really should have made your like this from the beginning!

I'm still running the stock rims/tires on my 2016 SL. Does anyone know what the widest rear tire would still fit the rim? I love the look of a wider rear tire on these things. Really do not want to drop even more money into all new rims/tires.

    Thanks

I'm in North Idaho. So Spokane is very common for me. Mornings are cold right now, for sure. Check weather. That is going to be a long drive. Crazy long... I recommend staying the night at least once if not twice. If you have full face helmets, this will be a major plus. At 70 MPH its a lot of wind and semi-trucks, etc create big blasts.

Too bad I'm swamped with work, I may have wanted to drive it half way for you. :)

Congrats on the SS. I just took mine out yesterday and drove around Coeur DaLene and Post Falls. Always lookers and people waving. The Slings are massive attention grabbers! Enjoy!!!

Why plexi? I have fire proof gasket material I use on my pellet stove. I was just going to put that underneath the amp. Also should the anchor points use rubber washers fir vibration?

Its actually not real Plexi. But just use what you got. I had a chunk of left over like-plexi that is semi soft. You can screw right into it. This way you keep the amps off the floor just in case water or you spill a soda, etc. Battery right behind the driver seat makes it slick. Good luck
