What is messing me up is that each one of the RCA's say a channel next under it as if it was taking both the + and the -.

Would my answer be as simple as getting two Y splitters and making the one white 2 and the one red two and plugging them into each "Channel"? I hate being so dumb.... :)

Ladies and Gentleman, once again, I need your expert guidance.

    AMP INSTALL FOR 6 Speakers.

I have everything wired up except for the amp and I ran into some questions that I hope someone can answer.

I have 6 speakers (2 front kick pods, 2 Butt Pods and 2 rear hoop pods).

I have two amps (a 4 channel and a 2 channel) and an aftermarket head unit with preamp RCA's out.

Since I thought it best to put the two front pods on the 2 channel amp (as I have done in the past with no issue) that would leave me with the 4 speakers on the rear with the 4 channel amp.

Problem is I have no EFFN idea on how to do it since I only have one set of RCA's coming out of the aftermarket head unit. And of course, the amp I bought seems funky. I was thinking of getting splitters, but honestly have no clue.

I am hoping that by me posting the pictures of the equipment, someone could make heads or tails with it and walk me through it....
    Any help is appreciated!!
The small silver one I have used before and figured out that I would put the fronts out of the head unit to the front input on the amp and leave the rear alone.... (again, who knows...).

    Thanks Bill,

We put the amps under the dash behind the factory radio or pocket. I worry about them under the seat because they're so low to the floor it's easy to get water in them. Even a marine amplifier cannot handle 1 drop more water then a car amplifier. The main difference is that a marine amp has a conformal coating sprayed on the circuit board to protect the copper traces against salt air corrosion. So, the higher the dryer in this case. However, we designed an awesome little sealed amplifier just for the purpose. At the CES show 2 weeks ago we release complete plug-n-play mounting solutions for a number of Side X Sides including the Slingshot. They'll be available in under 30 days and we'll have pics to share of the components next week.

In terms of wire routing... Option 1) The best way is to pull the seats and the rear panel around the storage boxes and route up the center cosole. If it's a 15-16 there are a bunch of bolts and takes about 30-60min. the 17+ use a panel clip fastener and is quicker.
option 2) you can pull the rear hoop covers and fish from one side to the other. Pull one of the shoulder bolsters by the seat and fish the wires down the side to the floor then run under the floor panel seam or along the bars by the pods and upto the radio.

Hi! You mentioned that you released a complete plug and play mounting solution. Did you ever post the pics of components?

I replied on the other site. First two things to check: !. Did you plug backup into the brown yellow connector, or the bright yellow. The bright is video in, not backup. Second, go to the radio settings for camera, my 4200 had the backup turned off from the box. Good luck

    Hi!

Yes I did. Spoke with the harness manufacturer and got a question for you?

Is your sling a SL or one that came with a camera? This seems to be my issue. I have a base and purchased the slingmods kits and an oem camera. I am told their lies my problem. Not sure how or why, but that's what I'm being told.

Ok. I think I have narrowed down the problem but would love to know if anyone has a different suggestion....

I called the manufacturer of the wiring harness and he has seemed to notice a trend.

My Slingshot didn't come with the factory camera. I have a base model.

What I did was purchase the OEM Camera and installed it, ran the harness and connections and nothing.

Has anyone had luck on installing the OEM camera and connecting it to their slingshot via the harness and aftermarket head unit?

Hi guys and girls. Making some good progress on the radio install. Question for you audio experts.

I am going to put my aftermarket head unit in with slingmods install kit and wiring harnesses. I will be running two amps to power my six speakers. I will not be doing the final hookups but don't trust the installers with the slingshot panels etc so I want to get as much done as I can and hand it off.

Question: does the radio remote wire go to the fuse box or the amp? I know this is a silly question because I am pretty sure the wiring harness provides the 12 volt accessory and the remote wire will go off to the Amos to turn them on.

    Can someone please confirm?

    Really cool!

Also, does everyone have a marine amp? I don't and was wondering if it's necessary? I don't drive in rain, but still.

    Hi!

I know a lot of folks out here have installed their amps under the seats. I am nervous to do that in case I get caught in the rain or it's outside and it rains.

Has anyone installed their amp inside the storage bins behind their seats? I'd be interested in pictures Of anyone's setup.

    Thanks again!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way. Truly an amazing group of folks.

Last question for today. I have a base model and installing the rear camera, got all the parts and wiring harness to install an 4200 NEX. I just realized that I don't have an antenna and the radio comes with an antenna adapter/connector but I don't have on. Is there a recommendation on what I should go to get radio antenna?

Little lost here so I'd appreciate hearing what others have done with a radio install on base model.
