My name is Delton and this is my wife Ginger. She won't be making the trip to Maggie but is usually my copilot around the Grand Stand. Looking forward to my first SSITS. Following Funcycle up bright and early Monday morning.

I use one of those Python cable locks and run it through the hole on the swing arm and then through the rear wheel. Bike can only roll a few inches either way and if they feel like trying to cut the cable that's probably where Smith & Wesson would take over the security detail.

Finally got the swing arm done yesterday. The other stuff was done a few months ago. Now hopefully it will be going back for oil changes only although I have that pesky stability light that comes on intermittently.

I just put the same exhaust in my Sling on Friday. Wow that thing was loud without the baffles (prior to the Sling I came from riding a bike with Vance and Hines with no baffles). Tried all 3 baffles and the largest one seems to do the trick for me but it still screams at over 3K rpms. Has a really nice sound when on the gas at the 2K rpm range and cruising. Did not have to take entire side panel off. The last screw I took out was the one about midway through the passenger seat along the side and I had enough room to work. Those springs made me say many cuss words but I finally defeated them. Oh and changing those baffles is no easy task without a lift or jack but I managed to get the holes lined up on all 3. Took about 5 minutes to change out just watch out for that sharp ass exhaust tip.
Been looking at this exhaust for a while and thinking about getting it next month. Was wondering if anyone has it yet and what are your thoughts on it? Ground clearance was my biggest concern but I also saw a review that the system turned brown after running a while. I know my 1320 header did and I'm fine with that and even the stuff under the hood and bike doing that but the stuff on the rear of the bike turning brown would be a big no no for me.
Well if you don't want to shell out over $1,000 bucks for new seats you can go the cover route. I got my PRP covers for a little over $200 and they look great with the colors on my Sling. The red piping really sets the covers off and looks good with the other red accents on the Sling.
Red, white blah blah blah. If he was in a Turbo Silver no words would need to be spoken. He would have pulled up and she would have just got in (after stepping over her freshly made wetness puddle) and they would have went directly to his place. Silver=Man of Action.
Hey everyone I wanted to paint my grill to match my Turbo Silver paint and wondering if any of the rattle can paints out there are a close enough match that I can get away with it? Does not have to be an exact match but I don't want it to look like crap either. I plan on using a plastic primer then the Silver paint and a couple coats of a clear coat. Gotta find me a red SS badge to attach to the grill as well. Anyone tried a silver paint yet?
Congrats Mateo! I remember that feeling well from 8 months ago. Now the real avalanche of mods starts. Once you start it is hard to stop. I agree with everyone in hear. Since you have the CAI now get that header for about 250-300 bucks and let it breathe on the backside. Mine came alive when I put the CAI and header on there.
This is us in the Christmas parade in the our hometown with our Shih Tzu, Mayzee. She LOVES Slingshot rides.
According to 1320 they use oval 2.5 pipe under the frame so that would save a little ground clearance. I love the sound of this exhaust though. Definitely has me thinking. If it was not for the ground clearance issue it would be a no brainer for me. I can avoid the speedbumps in my neighborhood but some of those driveway approaches are brutal. Gotta be careful with the front splitter and now the exhaust.
This is a picture I took last weekend of a new SLR at my local dealer with the new swing arm installed. Main difference I can see is that tab in the bend of the arm where there had been failures in the past.
Thanks Painter! I appreciate the response.
Hey y'all I just purchased the 1320 header and was going to use it with the stock exhaust for now. My question is do you have to take off all those plastic side panels to install just the header? I see those 3 bolts for the exhaust flange and should be able to get to those. When I unbolt those will those springs pull the exhaust away from the motor and be too stiff to re position the exhaust back to the new header?
Put my Sling in the Christmas Parade over the weekend and like a big dummy I put some of those gel window clingy decorations on my windshield. They were on there for only an hour but the red ones have left red ghosting stains in the windshield. I tried removing it with Novus plastic polish, a vinegar/water mix and Dawn to no avail. Anyone have any other ideas I can try? I'm so mad at myself but it is what it is now. If I can't remove it I might be looking for a stock windshield if anyone has one they want to sell.
Noticed my dealer had a new SLR out front for sale after a few weeks of no Slings out front so I stopped by to check it out. Swingarm was different. First thing I noticed was that it is much lighter in color than the original swingarm. Almost light gray in color and there is a new tab in the casting in the inner part of the bend where we have seen a few failures. I guess they have made it slightly thicker at that point with the new casting. Will try and get a pic the next time I am by there.
Was going to wait until Spring to start my engine upgrades but can't beat 20% off. Went with the red carbon fiber CAI. How close is that in color to the red carbon fiber valve cover that you guys sell?
Thanks for the info Rab. I called my dealer today and told them I know they needed to get their ducks in a row first but to put me on the list for the recall. They got my info and said I was one of the first.
